  • nice thats the best spider i have ever senn 5starts

  • wow that the coolest spider i ever seen

    5 stars

    awsome

  • it looks rare like an alien spider

  • such a beautiful spesimin! ware was he wen you found him...or her? i love it!! soo cool.... what is the name of that speses?

    its adorible!

  • check out the vid info.

english description is available after some japanese text.

    thx 4 watching!

  • how ddi you get it to go in its back??

  • that's a good question.

the agile spider was temporarily put in the transparent plastic bag for close examination.

he was immobilized by slight pressure onto the bag, which caused his unnatural posture.

it is far easier than the use of anesthesia.

it is also useful for inspecting female's underbelly genitals (epigynum) alive, which is sometimes critical in identifying the species.

  • It's a beautiful specimen, though I can't say that I've ever seen one such as this. I think it's rather adorable, actually.

  • hi, nice to meet another spider-lover.

i've heard that this group of spiders shows a colour change, when stimulated or disturbed, of their abdominal intricate dendritic pattern (not so vivid as in chameleons or cuttlefishes, though).

i would like to shoot a demonstration vid someday.

  • I llllove spiders. I think they are wise in their ways...for those who fear them, I think they would do well to acquaint themselves with the helpful nature of spiders. I already own a Chilean Rose Hair whom I named Aranaea lol And all spiders found in the house, end up in my bedroom :)

  • eventually they end up in ur bed?!!! lol

say hello to ur friend Aranaea.

plz share us a vid of them if possible.

we must show ppl that spiders are really cool in spite of their unfair reputation.

and we need ur help! :D

  • Well, I've sadly been responsible for the unintentional deaths of a clearish white little spider (buy putting her out in the cold for my roommate's sake) and not paying attention to where a jumping spider was going on my ceiling (right into the ceiling light) So...now I just put them all in my room, and make sure they stay off the ceilings lol With the exception of the Brown Recluse...they can stay outside lol I got over my fear of spiders because I wanted to...anyone else can do the same.

  • That is so fucking cool!

    I WANT ONE!

    =)

  • If I saw this spider I'd cling to the nearest male around and shudder in outright fear :p

  • Long Jawed Orb Weaver? I think so. Muariko was right on the fact that they are very clumbsy walking on the ground, but they are known to make there webs by walking across the water. That is one of the few reasons you will ussualy find these spiders near water. They do walk on water better than land.

  • well, i found him on the hill.

    anyway, thx for ur feedback!

  • the other day, i found an adult female spider of this species guarding her egg sac (small white fluffy ball) beneath a tree leaf.

i took some picts of her but no vid.

  • Really!? Then it could be another species of spider (or not). But, the spider I was talking about makes an egg sack that looks like a thickened strand of silk, and doesn't usually gaurd it. I have no idea.

  • Thx again. As mentioned in the vid info, this is an adult male of the Tetragnathidae family spider, Tetragnatha yesoensis.

"yeso-" means northern part of jpn.

  • Cool.!

Is this Evanescence? I love her newer song; Call Me When You're Sober

  • yep, it's "haunted" by evanescence.

aaaaaand i'm as drunk as a fish again.... :P

  • Wow, thanks for correcting me, do you know his scientific name?, in which part of Japan do you live?, thanks again for your correction.

  • no problem.

you can read text info in english after japanese part. just click "(more)", plz.

and i live in the northeastern area of mainland jpn.

  • Very strange spider, I can see that she can't stand up on her legs, I think that has evolutioned to hang from her legs and not to stand up. Cool.

  • ah... no! of course he can stand up and run around.

as written above, the agile spider was temporarily put in the plastic bag for close examination.

he (not she, judged from its club-like palpi) was immobilized by slight pressure onto the bag, which caused his unnatural posture. it is far easier than anesthesia.

in this footage, i was just interested in his jaw movements.

  • wow!!

  • thx for watching.

the moving spider was temporarily put in the plastic bag for close examination.

maybe i should have adopted the music from the famous soundtrack of steven spielberg's classic horror.
