  • Hey ZS,That is one bad to the bone beast of an atlatl point.I know because I have it's twin sister in alibates . But with a strait base where yours has little concave thing working. I hope you're right on the ID because I can't find any books that say these points are found in Okie. KeepON

  • p.s. also love the soundtrack.mmmmm last of the mohicans?

  • Scallorn Point Type - Woodland to Mississippian, 1300 - 500 B.P.also known as pine tree. material is keokuk..thanks for watching and asking.

  • @ummmhuhhh

Scallorn eh? Haven't thought of that. Material is heat treated Florence-A though. I had never heard of Keokuk and looked it up.... kind of like Burlington but has a more consistent color. Thank you for your insight.

  • What a beautiful point!! Sorry, I dont know point types very well. I just use them.. Boy, that is such a great one though!

  • Super nice point. Thanks for sharing.

  • Yes siree that's a beautiful point.. Super material and nice tunes in the background :)

  • I can imagine that Oklahoma is an excellent place to find artifacts of all kinds, considering the convergence of of so many tribes over the last few centuries. Great point, I always like the lengthwise striations on those and the larger spearheads, I'd bet the makers appreciated them the same way we view a nice racing stripe on a sports car.

  • :)

  • nice point! great color

  • What a Beautiful Point!

I would love to find a point like that!!

Around the part of Georgia that I live in, most you find is Quartz, and being the hard material that it is, it sometimes ends up being crude. Love the flaking on that point :)

    Happy Hunting! - Hawk-eye

  • k well it looks just like mine. i am going to be there fri to do some hunting give me a call at 580-716-3583.

  • Very cool point !

  • THAT MATERIAL IS BADASS, KILLER FIND DUDE...PEACE FROM STL...

  • Awesome point! Could be either Edwards or Edgewood. The small size and angle of the notches makes it look more like an Edwards, IMO.

  • @AllergicHobbit

I agree sir. That or there is a lot of confusion over the two types. Edgewoods are larger from what I've seen. I found a Pelican Lake just meters away from this spot. I know that some of these cultures overlapped and others came and went. Again, thank you for your educated opinion. I will send this in for a COA soon and we'll see what the big shots have to say about it ;)

  • Hot dang man! You got the best job ever...want to swap? Thanks for sharing this little beauty with us.

  • Wow! Beautiful corner notch!
