  • @mslisa6824 From what I understand, it's more a matter of hard work and dedication to become a surgeon than it is brains. One of my mother's best friends got a 24 on his ACT in high school. He worked hard for his education, and now he is a vascular surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic; the #1 program in the world.

  • from our point it looks pleasant to save people and be hero..., but we should remember that surgeons have extremely busy life, because they have devoted it to their profession... there is one more thing to be remarked, the heart surgeons are usually studying about 12 year after college(4 year med school, 5 year residency in general surgery and 3/4 year fellowship into cardiac surgery) during this time they nearly do not have their private life...so there is a question, is it worth of it...??

  • I see a lot of people commenting on here saying they're interested in cardiac surgeon, have a look at my videos, they're step by step guides into some of the procedures used in cardiac surgery, for example Aortic, Mitral, CABG, Cannulation etc..

You get to see up close into a pig heart (which is used for cardiothoracic surgery training) Have a look and let me know what you think

  • @093darkknight

Did you make it? Good luck and don't give up!!

  • too much pressure

  • I'm applying to medical school this year. I really hope I get a place. I want to be a cardio surgeon so badly!

  • @093darkknight did you make it?

  • Man how I wish I had the brains to be a surgeon..

  • @mslisa6824 you can develop the brains, its never to late to go to school. having the balls to do it, now thats a different story

  • @mslisa6824 you do!!!

  • @mslisa6824 In my opinion everyone has the brains, its just the development of that level of intelligence that someone must work to get to. I'm doing my best to study hard and hopefully in the future become a Doctor/Surgeon.

  • @mslisa6824 you have.. ambition is what you need

  • hey i was wondering is it worth it in the end? I mean you spend nearly two decades to be one. You start from college til you become an actual attending. I want to be one but I don't know if its worth it in the end. I was wondering anyone who is in their residency or a heart surgeon can tell me their experiences and see if it is the best career choice you could ever make.

  • whats all that stuff they put on the patient's forehead?

  • Oh good God, I wish I was smart enough to do this :( Don't have the grades for university.

  • @JennaXRawr

    You can do anything :)

Graduate medicine is always an option. There are people in their 30s and 40s starting med school at my uni :) You can do it if you really want to !!

  • @JennaXRawr go to a community college transfer 2 a university . get good grades & at least a bachelors degree. Apply 2 medical school(4 years) then residency (4-6 years). your done

  • Thankyou so much for the work you do, for your expertise in saving the lives of ordinary people like me who will be forever grateful for your training dedication and care. I wopuld so very much like to help in an operating room in such life saving cases but I guess I'll never get the chance. I suffered emergency aortic dissection and cardiac tamponade, and lived. Thank you.

  • oh, wow. o.o

  • i wanna be a heart surgeon when i grow up

  • @Aluminummagnet hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahha you make me cry so cute pour

  • @Aluminummagnet That is my dream too, good luck to both of us.

  • @Aluminummagnet Yeah? And I want to be an Astronaut.

  • I am in a Cardiothoracic training right now, my 2nd year fellowship. So far so good... Will be making lots of money soon.

  • @Aluminummagnet I know!!! Same!!
