  • How much room will I need for those eight fish? (Tank size).

  • I want to get eight cichlids...

    Two Wolf Cichlids

    Two Bluntheads (lol)

    Two Black Rutunga's

And two Electric Blue Jack Dempseys.

  • Wow that song is annoying

  • battle of the universe

  • throw a bumblebee grouper in there and the midas's reputation would dwindle befoere your eyes.

  • awesome fish! you have to admit, if fish had balls your Midas has some serious balls! WIN

  • sexi kiss XD

  • I never seen a midas female or a red devil losing a battle .

That wolf is really a badass

  • i didnt realise fish had fights, i alos didnt realise how gay it is wahaha! why are there so many vids of this shit? its not fighting the fucking kissing... biggest load of bullshit. atleast throw a bigger one in there so one loosers and we see some blood..

  • @SikPlumber that is fighting. when they cost $100 a fish no one is gonna do that. u wont see blood cuz they dont bleed like we do

  • @Mrfish4life1 mate i got a tiger oscar and a jack dempsy for $8 as babies i recon they would man handle these to bitchass fish

  • @SikPlumber both of ur fish would die.. even as adults ur fish wouldnt have a chance

  • @Mrfish4life1 haha no way they are heaps tank those 2 fish look shit as. my oscar would eat that orange fish his mouth is like triple its mouth size. my fish dont fight tho? they've been in the same tank for ages and dont fight at all

  • @SikPlumber the red devil has a much stronger jaw than and oscar and sharper teeth it would rip the oscar to shreds. i like oscars much more than the midas and i have one but it would get taken apart by the midas. Wolf cichlids can reach up t 18" and are mean ass hell so a oscar that is lucky to reach 14" would die in the first fight. ur fish dont fight bc they were raised together

  • dovii one fish you cant fuck wih i know i seen it go against snakehead piranaha and etc.. doviis eat piranahas in the wild. No way a pianaha or snakehead got a chance with these monsters. Dont Believe me throw them together and see what happen and i aint talking about a 2inch dovii with 7 inch piranaha or snakehead same size.

  • Not midas that a red devil

  • will u make an update on either of them please how big r they

  • @superfishman123 The Dovii's i gave to a friend of mine who have 35+ big aquariums in his basement, and it has grown quite a bit and they had many babis in the periode after they were given away. As i only have 4 aquariums i didn't want to occupy the biggest of them for two fishes alone. As for the Midas the male killed his female when they were breeding and i have tried to give him a new female, but not successfully so far.

  • @TomEA79 make a video of him please

  • Nice oscar fish at 0:46 do you know if i could put a big one like that into a tank of two pirahna's without it being killed? because i love oscar fish but i don't think i want to buy another big tank just for it

  • @coldsun29 Oscars live in South America in many of the same rivers as Piranha's so this is no problem. I have had friends who have had cichlids together with the Piranha's, but often it is the cichlids who kill the Piranha's and not the other way around. The Piranha's are hungry, but usually not as aggressive as cichlids.

  • @TomEA79 if the piranha was aggressive it wouid destroy all cichlids but an adult jag, dovii or umbees can grow to 3 ft in length (wild ones) can more then likley swallow a adult piranha whole,, but pound to pound piranha is sick lol

  • @coldsun29 a oscar would pick on pirahna they are not tough they have to be in packs to kill

  • @coldsun29 want kind of piranhas and what sized tank?

  • @coldsun29 im not sure if thats a good idea because even though its a strong agressive fish if a pirahna got mad the oscar just doesnt have the teeth to protect itself long enough for you to know if they bond toghether

  • i think they are just kissing -_-"

  • Likin the song. Care to share what it is?

  • @scarhbar23 its called lux atena - clint masell

  • dosent the wolf cichlid have teeth?

  • a lot of these fish in your tank i have caught lol

  • Big fish small tank. I prefer a big tank with small fish myself.

  • that was some intense shiiiitt!!!

    :P

  • thats why i dont want to buy cichlids .. there always fighting

  • @blured299 thats why u buy a big tank or one badd ass cichlid :)

  • damn ur red devil is beast!!! hes willing to take both of them on!

  • ahahahahaa i like how ur oscar just swims in the way at 0'46

  • That Midas was ready to take on anyone of them.

  • ur wolf is weak...

  • what is the name of the music you used

  • This is more exciting than the Rocky saga.

  • Eu acredito que não devemos colocar os animais no aquario e deixa-los brigar. Qualquer animal deve ser respeitado assim como o seu habitat também.

  • My Severum 6'' Kicks the shit out of My 17'' Silver Arowana and My 16'' Clown Knifefish XD

  • Hilarious musical effects. Nice touch. lololololzzz

  • id love to have a tank like this but im limited to 3 foot

  • excellent music an all

  • lol with tank full of beasts, how often do you find dead fish ?:P

  • @MXZCharlie Never - as the Dovi eat the fishes that he kills. The leftovers i never see, maybe the Pleco's or the other fishes take the rest.

  • @MXZCharlie that orange is fighting 2 fishes :D i'l never put a chiclid in my tank :d

  • @psybera1987 lol you can put a cichlid. not all cichlids are that aggressive. actually a midas is probably the most aggressive non-predatory cichlid you can get.

  • @MXZCharlie they have such innocent face :p esp the orange one, the other one too :p

  • Lol, I really laughed when read comments like: Severums, Firemouhs and Convicts usually kill Red Devils, or Doviis and Umbees are pussies or "I had my female firemouth defeat a 7 inch dovii". You guys are probably begginers and you never had RD, Dovii or Umbee (even if you write that you have).C'Mon,they are not called most agressive cichlids for no reason. RIGHR NOW, I have 4 in. Dovii that is keeping 4 in. Convict in the corner of the tank. Also he killed 2 Geophagus Surinamensis 2 x his size.

  • will a jag, dovii, red devil and a oscar do fine in a 150 gallon?

  • @RealRapMusic101 No...only for a short time.

Dovii will eventually become dominant fish and kill all other fish. For keeping SINGLE Dovii with other fish you need 300+ gallons tank, and if you keep pair, you need 500+!

  • @CichliDaqi wow!

never knew dat. tnanx to , means alot. but another question

wud a Dovii do good wit a Paroon Shark? or wud it kill the Dov?

  • @RealRapMusic101 Depends on size. If the Paroon Shark have mouth big enough to eat the Dovii (I meen, the Dovii is much much smaller), it will eat him. BUT, if the Dovii is bigger than half size of the Paroon Shark, say goodbye to Paroon...the Dovii will surely kill it one day, if the tank is not bigger than 300 gallons.

  • @CichliDaqi ok then ... thanx a million man that helped alot!

  • @RealRapMusic101 ummm you're right between being okay and not, it could go either way. A little bigger or one less fish would ensure safety, however with fish that agressive there is still gona be some fighting going on.

  • Every person will have there own opinion but i beleve that most people that support red devils jags convicts dovis ect. say there th strongest becasue its the fish that they have, now ehn u have experiance with fish an have had alot an no wat your talking about u start to brake off the fish in groops for example the groop i would thrw a dovii in would bee with N. haitiensis, Nandopsis beani, Caquetaia Umbriferus. having experince with all of them i found Nandopsis beani to be most aggresive.

  • not a huge fan of african cichlids they just don't seem to have as much personality as central americans my midas is awesome i love him.

  • the dovii is the king of cichlids end of story , they reach sizes of upto 32 " they eat other cichlids in the wild.

  • @M1XXMATT dude show me a dovii if they get that big because i haven't seen one.

  • over crowed much?

  • The butti's are the meanest and craziest fishes out there. mine is intense and mean. I like you video. I'm not a big fan of dovii's...

  • its not soo far fetched, I once had a 1/2" rosy red minnow swim directly into the mouth of my 10" jack, kill him from the inside, where my jacks flech as a suit to gain access to my larger tank which housed 2 devils 2jags and 2 other jacks, he then preceeded to kill them, not with physical force, but played mind games making them turn on eachother eliminating every last one of them. Only then did he shed his faux dempsey suit and swim freely in his newly obtained home.

  • @eatingleg4peanut I have heard of a similar tank conquering taking place, only it was a feeder crawfish destroying peacock bass.

  • double team

  • i have a blood parrot and a firemouth in a 55 what would be a good tank mate for them?

  • Song :D tell me it

  • quit yo jibba jabba.....everywhere a dovii vid is played. a storm erupts in comments. great vid 5/5.

    sexsehhhhhh dovii

  • plx name song !!

  • whats the song called???

  • I love oscars they always want attention

  • Fitting music...unlike all the other fish videos on Youtube.

And that Oscar was like "heeey look at me!" lol

  • nice vid man.

  • ummm... no firemouths are pansys they go with africans and the africans beat them up.

  • What size tank is this btw? thanks

  • 720 liter

  • LOL the jag wants a piece of the midas also......Too funny.......great looking fish btw...check out my tank

  • i think they will mate crossbreed

  • that would be great

  • midas and red devils are easily defeated by sevrums, convicts and firemouths. These are truly the greatest cichlids destroying umbees, dovii and other pussy cichlids.

  • During WWII, 2 american trained firemouths sank two Japanese mini-subs. And a destroyer. Can a Dovii make that claim?

  • I had my female firemouth defeat a 7 inch dovii, nearly killed him. I had to take him out and put him in my hospital tank. A male dovii losing to a female firemouth. Go figure.

  • noone is ganging up on you. Sorry you see it that way.

  • again, sorry you feel that way. Going to give you a thumbs up to offset from my one account since that's all I have. fwiw, I was joking about firemouths. Obviously a Dovii that grows to 28"+ is going to beat a cichlid that grows to 6".

  • @taichifeely ur so stupid ur just lying bcoz u bought a firmouth a dovii would rape that fish

  • @taichifeely How big was the dovii?

  • You are wrong..very wrong the strongest and meanest fish out there are dovii's,red devil's,butti's, and jag's. A female firemouth would get murdered by these fish...The only fish I ever saw that can over power these fish when they're his size..is a Convict..

  • It was tongue and cheek (i.e. a joke). btw, you left out Umbees. Umbriferums can tangle with all of those you mentioned (which I agree with). Trimaculatums (like a big mean Salvini) do exist and they should be in there too. That said, against a strong jawed characin like a pirhana, a wolffish, or even a non-characin like a snakehead or powerful catfish like mystus wykii, I think all cichlids would be at a disadvantage. YMMV.

    Augie

  • @augiebrooks mystus wycki are slow compared to something like a dovii. I've heard cases of them being murdered by large cichlids

  • If you don't believe me about the strong jawed fish I mentioned below, search on wolffish and jaguar .

  • A flowerhorn is meaner than all the fish you mentioned.

  • I agree..but, you don't always get mean flowerhorns! Mine is, check him out on my page click on "uploads". He nearly killed my jaguar cichlid..I'm pist now, because I gave him away because every fish he lived with, will die within the next hour or two..but, you got to love them..lol

  • @AfricanCichlidFan dude that jaguar could easily kill that flowerhorn what was the size comparison plus ive already saw a jaguar rip up an red devil and a oscar

  • That's true, the point with the Convict is off course that when a convic is 6" it's fully grown, but when a dovii is 6" it's eary in it's "teenager years" and therefore has not developed it's agression since this usually happens when it becomes "sexually active". At least that is what have happended to my dovii and jags. As for now i'm starting with west african cichlids (which was how i started) and are trying to get a hold of a Hemichromis fasciatus for a 150 gallon tank.

  • If your really like Westies get the book called The Cichlid Fishes of Western Africa, by Anton Lamboj. Its a great book, im friends with Anton too.

  • I already got that book :) Bought it when it came out in 2004. I also have the older book "Cichlids from west africa", written by Dr. Wolfgang Staeck in 1994. Lamboj's book are of course more up to date, but both books have a lot of interesting information about the fishes and theyre habitat.

  • @TomEA79 My cons are about 1.5 to 2 in and had their 1st frey, i have a 5-6in Jd and a bigger FM (both male) and the little Cons fuck them fish up, they aint playin, its time for another tank ;)

  • @AfricanCichlidFan

I agree. I have a Red Devil now. Used to have a firemouth that I kept with my sister's rosy barb. It was the only cichlid that would tolerate a rosy barb. I never seen anything as aggressive as a red devil out of the cichlids I've owned. BTW the red devil I have now killed my 2 dempsey's and golden severum. I had a convict but it died I replaced it with the devil.

  • @AfricanCichlidFan You aint lieing, we had a Jag, got it cheap and small, the shop didnt know what it was, and it got to about 5 in, and started growing fangs and my wife was scared of it, lol I miss that fish, it was a good fish, just killed alot lol

  • @augiebrooks I've hade like three firemouths and they were total vag's and got eaten by the same texas cichlid.

  • @augiebrooks lol nice sarcasm..

  • @augiebrooks clearly he is being sarcastic. a firemouth lol...yeah ok

  • @augiebrooks Probably the most nonsensical, ridiculous post I have ever seen. Nothing about this post is accurate.

  • @augiebrooks Dude I dont know if that is sarcasm or your for real...if you are serious your are one stupid little kid.

  • @augiebrooks Convicts and firemouths hardly get big enough to compete with red devils,...I've never seen it happen.

  • @augiebrooks Sevrums and Convicts have got nothing on Dovii's, umbees, midas and red devils they are total pansys ok? maybe a convict could beat a Dovii if it was breeding and the Dovii was the same size but normally not a chance!

  • @augiebrooks You do this for sport?

  • Comment removed

  • midas or red devils can not be defeated

  • black nasty?yeah right...my red devil killed my black nasty

  • ur a racist

  • what? do you even know what a black nasty is?

  • this is an amazing match up. my money is on the dovii to win cos hes got the teeth. . .

  • I had a wolf cichlid a year ago and was getting pretty big. Like about 5 or more but it turn out that it was a female. So I sold it to a pet store and order another one but this time I made sure it was a male . he is only 3 inches and already have heavy spotting over his lower body. I just can't wait for mine to grow up about 4 or 5 inches where it colors start showing. Dovii are such an impressive fish

  • both of these fish would easily be defeated by the venerable firemouth.

  • no question

  • lucky for Orcas that Firemouths are freshwater only. Otherwise, they would be toast. Cichlasoma Meeki is truely the most awesome fighting fish that ever lived. If Megalodon were alive today and it could survive in freshwater, it would run and hide from the awesome firemouth.

  • lol..firemouths couldn't beat dovii's,butti's,devil's,or midases. So I highly doubt that a little 6 inch fish could take on these fish, hahahaha it's like comparing a rottweiler to a rat dog.lol

  • @AfricanCichlidFan Firemouths are still pretty aggressive though, moreso than most oscars.

  • @taichifeely You are obviously taking the piss lol. What is all the "my flowerhorn will kill all your fish"? I have had ultra aggressive dovii, but I have equally had dovii that will back down from labiatus. Its all unique to individuals, and not one particular group of fishes.

  • Firemouths, one of the original fish kept as a hobby, are awesome.

    Really underrated.

    Beautiful and fun/intresting to watch.

    little hooligans actually =)

  • What song is this?!?!?

  • Wolf cichlids are monsters they capable of taking fishes twice it's size. I mean we talking about one of the most if not the most aggresive cichlid in the world.

  • Nice oscar. Or maybe oscars. Not sure.

  • who do u guys think would win in a fight a buttikoferi of the same size or a wolf cichlid????????????

  • I would have to say the wolf cichlid...

  • what size tank?

  • 720L

  • who won?

  • Check video 2 and 3 and you'll get the answer...

  • Comment removed

  • Lol It's funny because without the music, not much is going on here. Great add on the music

  • Is that a yellowjacket in there?

  • Not sure which species has the popular name yellowjacket. At which time in the video are you talking about?

  • thats def not a wolf fish it looks like a jauar hybrid mixed with a texas!!

  • lol i remember when my tank looked like dat, now i only have a red devil :/ red devil ftw

  • it look lke it was gonna be a 2 on 1 for a while.

  • man that dovii looks nice i got one but its around an inch right now

  • 0mg that wolf looks way alot like my 5 star general

  • Battle of the aggressives! That is nice song. Where's the soundtrack from?

  • Soundtrack: Requiem for a dream

  • Duh, I should've read all the comments. Good choice.

  • not every one gonna agreed with you on that cause there are agressive fish lover out there and a dovii is one. If you don't like the mean fish then just don't worry about it cause you know your not gonna buy it and there for your fish tank should be safe. To me i think most predatory fish are cool interesting to look at than most boring peaceful fish. sorry no offense

  • I'm sure you wouldn't have that same opinion if one single fish ended up killing an entire tank of 20 of your fish collection... The Red Devil and Wolf Cichlid are known to be cichlid killers, at some point they will try and kill (not just chase) all other cichlids, I don't think this is what most people want, but fish stores keep promoting them as normal cichlids... when this is no where near the truth...

  • Nobody at any tropical fish store has ever recommended keeping a dovi w other fish. Every time I see one, its already in a tank by itself (even as juvies). Any time I have considered buying a wolf cichlid the sales reps always suggest placing it in a huge tank or to keep it by itself. Anyways, its up to you as the consumer to know what youre buying. If you don't want a mean fish, then dont buy a new world cichlid. Red devils arent any more vicious than a Texas cichlids or red terrors.

  • the best way to get a tame wolf cichlid is if you get them while they are just 1 1/2" in length or juvenile. put them with other fish of similar size or a little bigger and they will grew up to be more tame.

  • I have never heard (or read that before). But it would be nice if it was true, as that would it possible to have them with other fish in the long run. In the end i ended up with the doviis alone. 3-4 months ago the male started to kill the jewel cichlids. He took like 3-4 a week and didnt eat any other food until they were all gone. I am planning to build a mega tank (2000+ gallon) and hope to have a dovii pair there with other fishes without too much trouble.

  • cool fish tank and setup . some day i will get a tank that size or a little bigger when i can afford to have it. I wanted a show fish just like yours man.

  • the wolf cichlid is the coolest you have there. I really like how the music goes too with the 2 ultimate figter fish lol. Looks more to me that the true tough large cichlid is the deovii as the music start and the fight goes on.

  • five star general could kill all those fishes

  • five star can handle a dovi 1/3 bigger then it easy in a lip lock dovi will lose they have very powerful jaws

  • my albino coryadoras would rag on all them cichlids lol nice fish gota get me some

  • 720L (180 gallon approx)

  • i'm loving the jewel cichlids you have in there how big are they?

  • The jewels are all about 10 cm (2,5"). Originally i put them in as food for the dovii, but none has been eaten so far. Most of the jewels is now given away, i have about 5 left. At a time there was almost 302,5" jewels in the tank :)

  • thats crazy man lol

  • lmao i love how the oscar just swims by like no ones fighting, my dam oscars always attack lobster while its fighting pleco.

  • my catfish would make them chiclids look silly :D

he wud say "hmmm snack time"

  • nice!

  • sick fish, i gurentee my flowerhorn would rape em both

  • its not bad to overstock a cichlid tank cause that keeps the big boss cichlid to busy to just pick on one fish. if it wasnt then the big boss fish would have al that energy to just rip up one fish by if it is overstocked then he is to busy chasing other fish and he doesn't just pick on one till it dies he would be to tired.

  • man that midas wouldnt take sh*t from anyone not even two Chihuahua cichlids!!!

  • jag will own all, especially since males grow 15-20 inches
