The loud noise is the exhaust leak. The originial exhaust manifold was all cracked and muffler was blown out. We have since replaced the exhaust manifold and exhausrt, it is much quieter now.
At nine years old I trespassed and played on one of these. Pushed the clutch to the floor and went for the scariest ride of my life. It stopped just short of the owners shop wall. Next time I saw it they had put it on large timbers. Nice Halftrack though, I need on of these to drive to work on 169 in Tulsa. Is the loud noise the tracks or an exhaust leak?
i wish i had one of these to drive around my grandparents huge property and hunt down some krauts!
