  • people are entirely too sensitive

  • JCP - Jack cock, please

  • 88 People got caught watching this commercial in the bathroom.

  • They re-edited the commercial and took the Phoebe scene out.. Assholes lol

  • Dudes ... when you add the cars, Moving in Stereo.... it was so hot. obviously things are grittier now... but this commercial makes me smile so much.

  • I wonder if any of the younger kids realize that that scene was shot almost 30 years ago, and that the girl is now in her late forties. Still jaw-dropping to those of us who lived in the 80's.

  • ok it's an ok idea and everything, but is that the sexiest thing you could go for? really? I mean i actually looked at the clothes. I'm sorry but that girl is not sexy (she's nice but not sexy) and the takes aren't either.

  • @felipepe You must be gay, bro.

  • @punkassbamboo your attitude is not manly at all

  • It get's people talking but who actually bothered to look at the preppy clothes

  • For some reason, I have to watch this commercial over and over and over...

  • Maybe this might be a little off subject...but what song is this? It sounds so familiar but I can't place my finger on it =/

  • thumb up if you got linked by yahoo news :D

  • love it. simply love it :)

  • I love this commercial. If you think it is sexist and needs to be pulled, stop being a pussy. Thats it.

This commercial owns. I can pretty much guarancheese the old crab who wrote the article on yahoo doesn't get laid and hates her life. If this makes you angry, you need to lighen up, period. This should not offend anyone.

  • this is a great ad, that yahoo article writer is a faggot, thumbs up so he sees this comment i wish i could see the look on his fuckin face when he reads this

  • Phoebe Cates was really gorgeous. I wonder what she was doing seen.

  • nice!

  • wow there is a good clothing brand, it's about time!! First people to actually make a good commercial!

  • Lmaoo!

  • See when your deliberately advertising sex, you know your desperate to sell your product. Nothing wrong with that as Phoebe Cates was the Ultimate sex symbol of the 1980s!!!!.

  • I suggest everyone here Facebook One Million Moms and troll their group =)

  • what about the old spice commercial. it was driving women insane and loving it. I don\t see this commercial bad. It's funny and mild. It works for many men to think this is a cool add to shop at JC PENNEY. lol

  • Everyone loves Phoebe Cates. CLASSIC. She is the one of few most searched on the net. Cute as button up to now at the age of 47. Fast Times At Ridgemont High the movie is still going strong to this day!

  • There is nothing wrong with this ad, it is just hilarious, I think it was a genius's idea. That's something new and original.

  • JC Penney has announced they will no longer be airing the offensive commercial! what the hell

  • focus too much on the girl. didnt had a clue whats going on with the clothes ad.....

  • To the people that think this add is bad.... seriously you have to much time on your hands. Grow up, lighten up and for gods sake, get something important in your life to deal with. Men like to look at pretty girls.... GET OVER IT.

  • notice how it has 69 dislikes? coincidence? i think not

  • Great ad. Shut up everyone.

  • ... i'm a women and i thought it was funny...

  • Get thicker skin people.

  • WHAT'S SO BAD ABOUT THE FREAKING AD?

  • That girls name is Shaina Magdayao..

  • lol fantastic

  • wow...so cheap!!!! sounds like a clip from melrose place!

  • Thankyou JC Penny for bringing back that iconic scene with Phoebe Cates. :D

  • As stupid as this commercial is, this chick is unbelievable.

  • Oh hells yeah Phoebe Cates from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. It's a difference of cultural perspectives, Scandinavians would probably think of it as meh... I'd still wouldn't watch your commercial.

  • Companies have been using sex to sell their products for decades. This is no different than every commercial and television show on tv right now. I don't get what the big fuss is about.

  • The only reason I'm mad at JCPenney's is because they pulled the ad. I'm a chick. I found the commercial hilarious, jesus.

  • one of the worst and most out of touch ads ever

  • one of the worst and most out of touch ads ever

  • The hilarious thing about guys on here saying it's "not sexist" and using "cunt" is that it is sexist, towards men!

Hahaha. Men. They hate shopping and love bikinis, what, did someone say something about football and titties? Quick, get me a steak to grill! Am I right bros?

    it's not offensive, it's stupid

  • The commercial is not misogynist or sexist at all. The comments, however, are.

  • why take down a perfectly fine ad. All those moms that were complaining about how it was sexist are just angry because they never looked like that.

  • How is this sexist?

  • Nonsensical: yes. Sexist: no.

  • 90 people are straight

  • JC Penney has become "fashionable" for young adults. JC Penney was making a move to attract even more customers using what evey other company uses--Sex and Satire. Get over yourselves. I say great move JC Penney.

    Mom and JC Penney fan

  • Any cunts offended by this commercial: get a fucking life ! Nobody likes you!

ps: 59 little bitches saw this video and cried!

  • Problem? I see none.

  • JCP knew what they were doing. Look at all this free publicity they are getting by pulling ad. Oh, and I love "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"!

  • it is seriously hot in here... ;) "million moms" neet to STFU! they aint MY mom!

  • At the end he probably should have said the slogan as it read, other than that great and classic commercial. Now I want a shirt and tie with slacks to match. I also really wanna watch Drop Dead Fred, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, I Love You to Death, Largo Desolato, Heart of Dixie, Shag, Bright Lights, Big City, Date with an Angel, Lace II, Gremlins, Lace, Private School, Baby Sister, Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Paradise.

  • I LOVE PHOEBE!! PHOEBE FOREVER!!

  • wow a sexy woman in a bikini, get the fuck over it. I've seen mutants at Wal-Mart wearing next to nothing, but people don't complain about that!

  • someone should re-edit this commercial so that it DOESN'T cut away before we get to see the goods.

  • If OMM demands that JCP dump this ad because it is offensive to women, then I am going to demand that Zoosk dumps the adds depicting men as shirtless muscleheads.

Wait.. no one really cares about offending men so I guess that request will fail.

  • Kudos to the add company. Smart marketing

  • The only ones who will be offended are the ugly lesbians. This commercial rocks, and I like JC Penney much more from this commercial.

  • Anything with Phoebe Cates in that red bikini is a winner. Period.

  • It's a perfectly fine ad. I see nothing wrong with it! =D

  • Pretty stupid and sexist.

  • Pretty stupid and sexist.

  • Although it is a "blatant objectification of women to sell crap," it's still a pretty funny ad, and the whole point is to sell, which is what they were trying to do. Not surprising from this day in age. The 80's still live on! =D

  • This commercial is awesome, there should be more like it.

  • This is total trash TV. I can't believe JCP used this junk to advertise. This makes me feel disgraced to be an American. I can't believe I have been subjected to this. Wow. Oh shit - Jersey Shore is back on - gotta run. GTL! FIST PUMP

  • Are there clothes for sale in this ad? I didnt see any.. Just an ad for a bikini! :-P

  • Awesome ad! I never wouldve looked at this ad if the girl wasn't in it. Great marketing!

  • You who are offended... I assume that you have kids... this is an example of what they are probably watching... youtube tosh.0 stripper and see what you get.

    This commercial is nothing!

  • 54 fat ugly women need to STFU and get back in the kitchen and keep making the sandwiches!!!!!

  • @06blackRSXtypeS

You have such an original mind.

  • I will neverrrrrrrr shop at this store again!!!! For removing this ad!!!!

  • Nothing is wrong with the ad, what about brawny paper towels, mr. Clean, the old I can't believe it's not butter commercials with that one buff guy, they're not "objectifying" men and if they are I don't care, I'm not going to stop using brawny paper towels, or mr. Clean products. As if gillette and old spice commercials are not indirectly targeting women as well with their macho topless guys, if they are "objectifying" men; I could care less and will continue to use the products and shop at JCP

  • 54 dislikes from a bunch of overweight 40 year old women upset about this.

  • Seriously people are upset over an iconic image from the 80's? I guess what people are not getting is Men generally hate shopping for clothes. So by throwing an image from Fast Times at Ridgemont High it would make Men watch. Seriously politically correctness has killed this country...

  • lol women complaining about stupid stuff

  • It is a brilliant ad, It made both my wife and I stop and watch, laugh, and talk about it after words, what else could you ask for in a 30 second spot.

  • @Catman8082010 - "after words" - Are you a fucking retard?

  • This was a great commercial... and seriously, there are so many more things on TV to be concerned with. People would rather complain about the 30 second commercial than about the 30 minute TV shows that little kids are watching.

This commercial is not shocking at all... but if you are angry at this commercial, I suggest that you flip around on your TV and open your eyes to what is out there... The only thing that JC Pennies should be sorry for.... marketing to the wrong crowd!

  • @Kankles911 in addition, as was mentioned by another poster... GoDaddy does this every day of the week.

  • Come on, people, lighten up!

  • Ok so not the best choice for an an Ad but really people? Is this really worth complaining about? Wasn't it a few years ago that Carl's Jr had Paris Hilton wearing barely anything dripping wet from washing a car w a hamburger in one hand? I mean the people that are complaining about this ad have they completely banned the fast food chain? Why is this anything different than what we have seen in other ads.

  • I don't even.

  • ... see anything wrong with the commercial... me neither

  • Absolutely nothing wrong with this very nice ad. What's wrong with you uptight people...... loosen up a little.

  • Sex Sells - Marketing 101. I can't believe this is a new concept for some.

  • great add

  • I have to say that though this commercial is pretty bad, I still laugh at anyone who's actually offended and 'up in arms' about this. Relax. Take a breath. You'll live longer. If you don't like JCP, don't shop there....errr...go hit up Macy's or something. Move along.

Selective news coverage at it's best. Just picking on JCP now, while they've given up on companies like Go Daddy. <--Just one name in a LONG LIST of companies with 'offending' ad campaigns.

  • Guess I can't support JCP.

It's also not about people "crying about everything" or "butthurt" feminists. It's about respect. This, and the other "too pretty for homework" shirt just feed into and reflect a sexist society. So men can't buy clothing without a woman in a bikini? That's just sad, and makes men look like perverted idiots. For women, again, it objectifies us by comparing us to a product and uses our bodies to sell. Sexism hurts both men and women.

  • Im a girl; a STRAIGHT girl, and even I was staring the bikini lady. This just shows that 1: This isnt a promotion, it distracts you from actually looking at the clothes, and you look at the girl instead and 2. This is really stupid, okay, so you showed a hot chick, why do we want to buy your clothes now? Waste of TV.

  • I'm sorry I was too busy paying attention to the left!!

  • It's just a shirt you bitches need to get a life!

  • Another example of how JCP promotes the sexualization of young women. I will absolutely not be shopping at JCP any longer.

  • Bunch of butthurt feminists.

  • WHAT SONG

  • wow, everyone cries about everything now adays. Bunch of pussies.

  • One of the best commercials I've ever seen. Damn, Phoebe was (and still is) a hot piece of ass!! She's currently married to Keven Kline.

  • all the way! i want more! fuck you people and your complaining!

  • Comment removed

  • I am so unbelievably offended by this light-hearted commercial which uses an homage to an iconic comedy -- from an era when people didn't take admiration of a woman's body as objectification -- to make light of how boring men's clothing is. I just can't live with this in existence. I'M GOING TO SET MYSELF ON FIRE!

  • I will go out of my way to shop at JC Penney. What an awesomely creative and perfectly politically incorrect ad. Love it!

  • Awesome Commercial xD Nice advertising. Its not like they forced the girl to do it, whats the issue?

  • pathetic.

  • very dumb, women do alot of shopping at jc penney- the majority I would say. You probably don't want to offend them.

  • I don't know - it also sends another message:

    Don't bother with poison-over-priced-made-in-Asia-for-pennies-and-a-bowl-of-rice-selfish-local-business-destroying-because-we-tell-you-to-greedy-crappy products..

It screams "We can take advantage of you in so many ways."

All they want is for the type of guy who would say, "Hey - did you see that smokin' babe? heh, heh, heh, I don't even know what the ad was sellin' dude but, giggity, JCP is cool."

    "Giggity"

  • @moonhearted

Most companies have that kind of labor. Get over it.

  • @moonhearted I lived in a poor Asian village. If Penneys set up a clothing factory there, the villagers would be fighting each other for the jobs. It would build the economy and help the other local businesses.

  • its a reference to a classic 80 film not subjugating females. get a sense of humor

  • She was about 18 when she filmed this movie. So inappropriate and unnecessary, JCP.

  • Poor girl. Where is her dad? Would you let your teenage daughter star in this?

  • @emstalcup you are aware you're being just as objectifying by putting her agency in the hands of her father, not her own hands, right ?

  • @emstalcup She's not a teenager anymore you dumbass.

  • JCP, as many other people have commented, this is it for me. I've been a long-time customer, but after the "too pretty for math" fiasco and now this, I'll be taking my money elsewhere.

  • greatest scene from a cool movie, way to go jcpenney

  • This after their "apology" for the "I'm too pretty to do homework" t-shirts marketed to our girls. It's obvious now just how not sorry they are. JCPenney, you've just lost a lifetime customer.

  • @supeemommy Youre a fucking prude! I cant wait to see your daughter in a bikini!!!!

  • @johnottr Oh John. What a clever comment. You must be so proud. Did you think that up yourself?

  • Do you really think objectifying women is going to sell product? Women do most of the shopping. Stop disrespecting us!

  • This is beyond insulting, to both men and women. JCPenney should be ashamed of themselves.

  • @Nehx...and?

  • This is blatant objectification of women to sell crap

  • @Nehx How is enjoying the female figure objectification?

  • @Nehx Comparing women to objects isn't fair to objects, because objects usually have value.

  • @jodark Wow. You're going to be alone for a looooong time.

  • @jodark

Well if it took something of no value to create you, what does that say about your existence? Idiot.

  • @Nehx u know who came up with the term "objectifying woman"? ugly chicks who don't get in the spot-light often enough. how often do you go to a beach and see woman wearing the same thing. do you go up to them and say "ur so objectified". do u know what this is?? smart advertising. it's cute, it's funny, and it's true. Get over it.

  • Great ad.

  • Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

  • Phoebe Cates from Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

  • whos the girl in the red bikini? if thats from a movie what movie is she in?

  • I don't get it. Does anyone actually look at the clothes during these commercials?
