  • Until now I didn't know what that brush was used for. Thanks

  • All I can say is WOW!!!!

  • God I love that fan brush. Thank you! That's amazing

  • I love how the video ended...

  • Thanks for sharing with us your awesome techniques.

  • ok what i learned :-

    1. drawing is easier than i thought though am an illustrator.

    2. clean the brush after each use.

    3. don't buy a cheap all in one stupid cheap brushes pack.

    4. don't put the color on the paint (DUH!).

    5. Fan brushes are EPIC!.

  • You did it in 3 minutes... It takes 10 minutes for me to make a tree and then when I take a better look at it I say to myself: What on earth is.... THAT!? Then I get off the drawing, throw it to the bin and start all over again!

  • thank you

  • Oh! so thats what you use that silly fan shaped brush for!!!

  • this looks so simple to do LOL, until I do it XP

  • Fanastic. Thanks so much for this video!

  • thats really nice thank you :)

  • When Painting with Acrylic Paints, Does it matter what type of Palite* to us? Sorry that if its misspelled but I think you know what I mean. Please respond to the question. Thanks.

  • hmm I understand acrylics use water medium but I as a painter who uses acrylic i never did viewed it that way. for one i paint as if my acrylics were oils in every way even when thinning. it really depends on the painter and skill level also i guess. in example to using both Flemish and alla prima instead of waiting for it to dry. then again its sometimes is nicer when it is dry

  • I tried this with 2 fan brushes and it still doesn't look like a tree T^T its a lot harder then it looks

  • Fanbrush. T.T

This is mindblowing. All I needed was a different brush??

  • You made this a bajillion times easier by showing this technique! I'm 13 and my Mom loves trees when they change in Autumn, so I figured I would paint one. Thanks so much!

  • lokasoo

  • i need to get me a fanbrush!

  • Coooll

  • Hookers dream? O_o

  • @vlindervvv Try selling them at local farmers markets or if any stores in your area have a bulletin board out front you could print up some flyers with pictures of your work at post them there. You could also set up a website and post pictures and you could put the website link on the flyers. Hope this helps! Good luck!

  • Thank you! I will try this out! ^^

  • wwwterryharrisonartcom

  • Not sure is he sells his work or not though. Enjoy!

  • can some one please answer me what you all do with these wonderful paintings. do you keep them or do you sell them? if you sell them , where and how?

  • thats amazing :D

  • Interesting video

  • Wow this is a really nice demonstration.

  • I bought a fanbrush and was excited. BUT, when I apply paint to the brush the bristles all stuck together making it look like a fork. Am I doing something wrong?

  • @OneUpMushroom i think you have too much paint on the brush which causes the bristles to clump together, use less color :)

  • @anenigmainme Ill give it a try. Thank you.

  • @OneUpMushroom

your paint may be too watery.. try first on a scrap piece of paper, when you achieve appropriate effect , then use on your canvas or paper.

  • I want some people to look at my painting that I uploaded today and tell me if i shoudl make more videos about painting. The video is from long ago and my painting has gotten much better, so i hope you all can give me some feedback! Thank you in advance

  • The vedeo is great education,Only would like to know from where or how can I get a fan brush.

  • What kind of canvas did u use and how do u make such brilliant strokes for the tree without the stubble effect when u paint??

  • can we make a fanbrush from our normal brushes??????

  • can we make a fanbrush from our normal brushes??????

  • the whole video im like wtf this is bullshit. he does it so easy it makes me feels stupid

  • Remember comrade, always practice atleast 3 times a day. Who knows, you may be the next Van Gogh!

  • and I always wondered, how arists are doing the foliage of the tree, cuz it always looked so imposible to do ;o

  • Now I remember why I don't paint anymore. Because something that looks as easy as this is SO very hard for me to do.

  • Very helpful, thanks

  • keep in mind for the tree details he used a fanbrush, fanbrushes are awesomesauce~

  • @Kurolli awesomesauce with ah spooget!

  • awesome man!!.. wow!!.. lovd it!

  • simple and arts!

  • muy bueno

  • I like the wet-on-wet version way better than the other. The blending of the colours really makes the tree stand out more.

  • I love your trees!

  • thanks for the tip :)

  • I read somewhere (John Carlson) that the trunk of the tree in relation to the foliage is equivalent to the stem of apple to the body of an apple.

  • @smarterthanawaffle That's only true in certain trees

  • OMG!! you are amazing and you make it look so easy to which encourages me the most!! LOVE your work!!

  • this is awesome! looks so easy :)

  • Even though I draw mostly abstract, I wanted to learn how to do trees - thank you so much. Easy how-to guide that looks fantastic.

  • @comandante583 Atleast they LOOK like trees! Mine now looks like a mushroom cloud! Or a mushroom!

  • that was amazing, cant wait to try this out

  • how cool was that. Good teacher.

  • This is so amazing.

I've tried painting trees earlier, but never in this way, so they didn't look realistic. I feel so stupid for not remembering this. This video helped a lot really.

i like the first one better though, when you didnt wait for it to dry

  • this was amazing and very useful.......thank u so much..

  • everytime i go to do the highlights with oil, the paint just blends together in a blurry mush. why

  • @LpJunior537 u need to dry the painting before puting on the highlight.
