  • Does anyone have her vaults from EF?

  • also lets keep in mind there are 6 judges...4 of them gave her the same score as kupets and theyre certified. So i'd say they both went 9.95 and both deservingly wont the title! Back off

  • I go to the gym Ashleigh used to go to, and I remember when she got this routine!

  • This routine was miles better than Kupets's. Kupets got the title because of who she was, and not what she did. This girl EARNED her title. She should have it alone.

  • And Kupets didn't earn HER title? Are you BLIND? ACK had plenty of form deductions in her first and last passes that the judges didn't take, so you should count your lucky stars that she placed as high as she did. Kupets is CLEAN and has been a fucking rockstar on FX throughout her NCAA career. Get with the program.

  • you call her winning an NCAA title on floor lucky? hahaha and please inform us where PLENTY of form deductions are in ACK's floor routine. Gosh you people will do anything to bring a gymnast down. She stuck the last pass cold. ACK is never handed gifts. She EARNED every bit of every accomplishment she had!

  • Rehashing this issue with YOU isn't worth the electrons.

I will point out, however, that you seem awfully defensive of her gymnastics. Personal investment much?

  • I love watching this routine. Every time i go to an LSU meet i always look forward to seeing this routine. Good work Ashleigh!

  • Geaux ACK!!!!!! Congrats on the championship

  • when i went to an LSU vs Florida meet with my gymnastics team i saw her routine. IT WAS AMAZING! she got a 9.975, one judge gave her a 10. incredible.

  • Very good :)

  • after her double pike..which by the way had really good form for a majority of college competitiors...accept for not totally extended feet she did land much more upright and kept her feet close on her backflips! but anyways look at the little paper next to the white part of the floor move after she lands her double pike.

  • It's very cool how the Florida girls are cheering and doing ACK's choreo with her. Glad to see that.

  • yea thats the cool thing about event finals...theres no team to worry about so theyre all just like friends competing against each other it's so cool.

  • are you serious???? its a full turn...WHO CARES!!! courtney doesnt do anything out of her full turn..i. guess she shouldnt be a NATIONAL CHAMPION ON FLOOR either!! youre a joke because ACK was ranked #1 on floor all year and her routine is a crowd favorite im sorry 1 random perrson didnt like her routine. Get over yourself because clearly you know nothing about the sport and what it takes....SHE DOES!

  • Yes, clearly I know nothing about WAG. You are the blessed guru of the sport, ain't ya? Why don't you GROW UP and use meaningful terminology. Maybe you'd make a little more sense. You're awfully angry, too. I really wished you'd have higher standards.

  • Please help me understand where i did not use meaningful terminology??...hmm i know nothing about NCAA Gymnastics??...seeing that I am a 6 time all american i think i know a little something about start values and connection bonus. She has no bonus from her turn...NOBODY DOES...its an A! Why cant you just humble yourself and give credit where credit is due. She deserved it...PERIOD!

  • YOU were the one that said I didn't know anything about the sport in the first place. Now you're getting offended that I threw your comment right back at you? That's illogical.

In the beginning, I said her turn/leap combo was weak, which it is. Level 8s do more impressive combinations. I obviously have higher standards than you when it comes to WAG. I also appreciate precision of execution. If YOU did, you would realize that ACK's routine did NOT equal Kupets's artistically or in its execution.

  • it may have lacked artistic value, but it certainly had entertainment value IMO

I honestly am not heartbroken that she did a full turn to wolf jump since she already did 2 C's before it and it's not like the other gymnasts were doing triple turns and double L turns

Her tumbling was harder than Kupets and she did them well, I'm not unhappy with the results

I mean, Hartung was 3rd, and pretty much every element in her routine is flawed

  • Yeah, I agree. I'm not heartbroken either, but Kupets IS cleaner than ACK. No one can dispute that. So, for me, there was an edge that should have been there for her over ACK. I also can't stand the leg separation on ACK's dlo. I tend to forget that NCAA has always been more about landings than air form, but in EFs it should be a little different.

    I totally agree about Hartung.

  • great routine!! ahh i wanna see more vids from ncaa's lol!!

  • OMG. Full spin to wolf leap? Are ya SERIOUS? Weak.

  • spin=turn

    leap=jump

And YES, that's a VERY weak combination based on what other people were doing for their dance requirements on FX in this final. Did you see the other routines? They were far superior in terms of difficulty... especially in their dance elements.

  • its not her leap combination. She clearly does a toujette half popa for her leap combination which IS 1 TENTH BONUS! thats all you could find to pick out. Youre right....the huge double layout. double pike and whip half rudi meant nothing!! funny because courtney kupets does a double arabian. whip half rudi and double pike ALL THE SAME PASSES...SAME VALUE! but ashleigh's is WEAK? and again they both won the national championship! Give me a break!!! find something real to pick apart

  • If you really want me to break down the deductions between ACK's routine and Kupets', I'd be more than happy to. I was surprised that ACK would do such a simple turn + leap combo. She's obviously capable of more, so that struck me as lazy.

And if you want to get bitchy, ACK's choreo BLOWS. She may as well be an Alabama gymnast.

  • obviously its weak but she didn't need another dance series to get a 9.95.! Only reason she didn't get a 10 was for her form on the double layout and a little lack of extension! get real its college~

  • The "it's only college" comment pisses me off. There are plenty of college gymnasts doing very difficult elements and series, and I expect the NATIONAL CHAMPION ON FLOOR EXERCISE to be competing difficult elements across the board... not just tumbling.

  • PERFECT EXAMPLE:

Jamie Deetscreek......has 3 passes- double pike, double twist layout step out, handspring rudi- (not very difficult passes) but she still does a wolf full to straddle full) and switch ring to swithc leaf full to ring full to shushanova tucked....w/ all those hard combos she still only manages to score 9850 at the highest..and she does her other passes almost perfectly....hard tumbling with good landings=good score=ashleigh clare kearney end of argument

  • umm, Deetscreek has no amplitude and consistently underrotates her rudi

  • Not to mention the fact that it's more like a front 1 1/4. You have to love NCAA because it gets a little questionable from time to time. NOTHING like elite gymn. ;) Right?

  • When I saw the Utes at OSU and when I saw Deets's FX from Nationals, her leaps shouldn't be credited (OH BUT WAIT! I HAVE HIGHER STANDARDS THAN YOU! NEVERMIND). It's not only about difficulty. It's also about execution. Do you even know how to compute the start values and connection bonuses? Doesn't sound like it.

  • It's Ashleigh--- not Ashley...

  • haha I got so caught up in the "did I include all the tags" I forgot to check her name spelling

    sorry
