i love this book! i read both a farewell to arms and the things they carried and although i liked a farewell to arms better, this book was amazing! Tim O'Brien will go down as one of the greatest writers in history, at least in my book :)
@ITSaLIFESTYLEinc seriously? this is one of the best books of all time. i did a research paper on this in 12th grade and i loved doing it. when you get into the depth of this book theres so much to appriciate. O'brien is one of the best authors of our generation
This was a difficult story to follow since I do not have a strong likeing towards war stories. I appreciate O'Brien's nice writing, and soldiers who do, have, and are fighting to keep us free and as safe as possible. Thank you for sharing this video. I like hearing the author read his own material.
Why keep the hat on? No respect for the audience.

I'm reading the short story "The Things They Carried," and am a little confused. Is it both a full novel and a short story?

@PsychoSocialChange Yes--"The Things They Carried" is the title story in a longer collection of related stories about a platoon in the Vietnam War.
