  • just apply for top shot already, your country needs you!! :)

  • Wow! Great video! What's the best way to go about learning to shoot those kinds of distances? And, with iron sights, no less? I'd love to learn to do this.

  • That's badass! I didn't know handguns could fire that far and be accurate. It shoots pretty flat

  • this dudes cool!

  • I am a big fan of yours-yr the real Clint Eastwood :)

    btw ignore the naysayers -cheers

  • that´s some awesome aiming

  • unreal

  • Sounds like the gun is chewing tobacco and spitting it into a spittoon. *pow* *ping* lol

  • Second hand gun I ever fired was a .44 and after 38 shots, I couldn't feel my fingers and my whole arm felt like jelly for two days after...so much fun : )

  • Classic Hickok video... I love checking out the early videos.

  • How big is the target? Thats a hell of a shot!

  • Hickok, you're a King!! I think I couldn't hit an elephant in tunnel at 17 yards xD

  • I wish it was easy to get a gun license in NJ... -_-

    /watch?v=FSaeRHE4_fo&feature=channel_video_title

  • I'm hoping to get a .44 mag soon to do just this. :)

  • How much do you charge to shoot in your backyard range? Im in Cookeville, maybe I'm not too far from you. lol

  • Dirty Harry nine gun

  • what grain bullet was shot in this test?

  • @VinceWalk666 , Sorry, we don't allow bigotry here on the channel; you'll need to go elsewhere to watch gun videos.

  • @hickok45

Could you remake this video with a better camera? Could see the bullet drop and everything.

  • @VinceWalk666 How many people are being killed in Jolly Ol' England. Good sir, I do believe that nobody gives a rats ass, about what you said. Chip-Chip Cheri o , Gov'na. Fish n' Chips.

  • This is so cool :D...

  • hickok45 is the best Gun channel on youtube.

  • You're too hard on yourself. I was flinching firing a .44 yesterday and I was not even getting any kind of consistent grouping until I put over 10 shots through it. 230 yards!!!

    Nice job!

  • At 2:53, apparently, you couldn't scare the bird off :D

  • nice video. a lot of people couldn't do that good off hand with a rifle!

  • Load it up with some cowboy 44 spl and i'll be impressed! But seriously that's pretty good, and it's what plinking is all about,to be just as happy with as miss as a hit because it's all in fun and games.I can't remember that guy's name that shoots ballons at 200 yards with .38 snubs, that's neat too,but I like the delay because I grew up shooting pellet guns and firing with a delayed hit is very normal to me.

  • I would run for the hills if I was to make this man blind with fury. With accuracy like that at 230 yrds i'd run!

  • i dont think people are quite getting this: ITS OVER TWO FOOTBALL FIELDS!

    Thats crazy man...

  • That was some really good shooting, you have alot of skill. Your also lucky you can own a proper handgun, unlike here in the UK. It would be intresting to see how far you could shoot a UK Legal gun with a 12 inch barrel and arm brace!

  • Haha this guy reminds me of the special forces guy in command & conquer 'that was left handed!'

    Great videos thanks :)

  • I don't think I could see a gong at 200 yards over pistol sights. Heck I'm pretty happy to hit a gong at 100 yards with an AK.

  • Beautiful revolver! I <3 S&W wheelguns

  • dude your the quigley of handguns, i can barely hit a glass bottle at ..... maybe 20 yards with my .22 revolver

  • Nice Shooting

  • 6 out of 12 at 230 yards is Good man. I dont think id even get 1 out of 12 great Vid Hickok 73 JKW

  • Looks like a 1mph wind. Awesome shooting. Can't do better myself.

  • Thats pretty dam good with open sights...the farthest ive shot my model 29 was 100 yards.

  • Thats good! I was hitting a target at 200 yards the other day with my 629 classic 6.5" 44 mag and nobody will believe me. I by no means hit the bulls eye but I was making it in a 2' by 3' target about 60% of the time. thats my 4th time to the range too, with a handgun anyways. I really enjoy your videos by the way!

  • wow ur good i cnt do half as good

  • Nice!

  • what brand name do you reload with?

  • nice shooting

  • you got skils

  • A M A Z I N G SHOOTIN PARTNER !!!!

  • wow..i wonder if Steven Seagul can do it..

  • I have been a sub since around four thousand subscribers... and while your newer vids are much better quality and better camera work (with John)..... This video never gets old...

  • You sir are an amazing shooter.

  • this is freaken insane.....thats rifle rang for me

  • I AGREE WITH EVERYONE YOU DID A GREAT JOB WITH THE VIDEO AND I LOVE THE RANGE ,,,,, I ENJOY SHOOTING MY S&W 629 WITH A SCOPE AND THE LEVERLUTION LOADS

  • wow, nice shot 230 yards power of the mag

  • great video. nice to see someone enjoying their shooting so much. you remind me of tom knapp , the shotgun trick shooter.

  • You are one hell of a dangerous man with that model29! I think you were Dirty Harry's Field Training Officer (FTO) when he was just a rookie.

  • nice shot

  • man that is sick! great shooting!

  • Exceptional!

    Thanks for posting.

What do you think of the construction of that model 29 compared to the new Smith and Wesson revolvers??

  • haha iron sights like a man. I don't understand why anyone would go hunting with a pistol but slap a scope and bipod on it. The point of hunting with a handgun is the added challenge but its the same game if you've got a scope and a bipod on it.

  • Cool video's! I shoot 200yds with Desert Eagle 44mag and 10" barrel and its loads of fun when you wak the steel plate that far.

  • Calling your shots is a skill most people never acquire, Well Done

  • You ARE FRiggiN Awesome

  • pretty good shootini dont think i could pull that kinda range off with a revolver

  • dang, that pistol is accurate!! of course good shooting skill helps too.

  • great shooting man

  • wow thats extremely loud.. u must me a natural born shooter because somethin with kick like that at 230 yards omg that must be a world record

  • Chuck Norris would be proud

  • Thats awesome!

  • If you plan on moving let me know cause I'd love to have my own private gun range. Very good shooting. I could stay out there doing that for hours.

  • Harry Callahan would be proud.

  • damn if you would play counter-strike Steam would perma ban you for AimBot, LOL.

  • Hickok shut up you knew you were going to hit it. =)

  • I can hold steady, my problem at 45 is my eyes.

  • @slowpokebr549 My problem at 23 is my eyes - by the time I am 45 I will have more in common with a badger.

  • 50/50 @230 ain't nothing to complain about Hickok.....I'd be lucky to hit 1 outta 50, nice shooting my friend.

  • there really is nothing like a steel target, I dont know how people have any fun shooting paper

  • @jarheadkauai

Paper = no riccochet, but it doesn't sound as nice.

  • You are a force to be reckoned with!

  • great shots. Thats the good thing about long barrels, extremely accurate. Especially when used by a great shooter.

  • wow

    you're a good shooter.

  • Nothing like long range pistol engagements. Im lucky that i can shoot freely like your self. I live in a free state (not Kalifornia). 200 and 250 yrds is definitely possible. I like my mark II 22 at 200 yrds on steel. Make me smile just like this video. To hell with the no believers, they have their version, we have the truth. Keep up he good shooting Hickock

  • Hows the recoil compared to a Glock 19 lol

  • didnt momma tell you not to play with guns. ;)

  • Great video and impressive shooting!

  • cant even describe the awesome. hickok you should be sponsored by youtube

  • Best I can do is nail a quarter at 85 yards. I'm lefty. Need to get it to at least 150.

  • It's great to see a man get so much enjoyment out of target shooting. Keep up the good vids, Hickok.

  • I have admit if I was on the business end of that I'd say there was no chance he'd hit me. I'd have an exit wound the size of a pancake.

  • marksman!!! Wow

  • very cool! I shoot my mod 27 same tube length at the "high power" sillouettes. It is a rush to hear that clang!

  • @3buffalo13 , Man, I know what you mean. My first competiion shooting was during the '70s while shooting a few IHMSA matches. I recall the thrill of slinging lead at 200 meters and occasionally seeing the ram fall out there. I was hooked, even though it was only about two years some of us did that. Of course, I'm still trying it 35 years later; some people never learn! :-)

  • @hickok45 You are a really good shooter You should get into some sort of competition

  • dang u should be on top shot im subing to u and i wish i could shoot that good

  • cool vid

  • ya know, on the days i have bummed days i turn on hickok45 and sure does change things around.thanks so much for what your doing i really enjoy every video you have. i would love an autograph.... :)

  • Is there any gun with more character than a smith wheelgun?

  • nice video thx for posting

  • i would love to live at your house because then i could shoot whenever i want :D

  • whats your hold off?

  • awesome man! i just bought my first handgun - a smith 29, 6". love it! gonna take a long time to get to those skills. good job!

  • You are god like to the firearm world. Big fan here

  • HAX!!!

  • You could kill 4 bad guys before you heard the first one scream

  • He cant shoot for shit

  • Wow, really awesome shooting!

At that range i couldn't hit anything..

It takes a wile before you hear the gong, what if someone stood over there

i think he could be able to dodge the bullet :P

Great shooting vids! keep it up!

  • @kyle1058 , I looked at that company. I forget what it is now, but it's obviously trying to get our attention. Instead of using a picture of Pamela Anderson, they slam one of the most common self defense rounds out there.

  • @hickok45 I agree. It's all marketing schemes. I apologize for the brashness of my post, I was just upset at the time. Marketing ads that say lies aren't my idea of good advertisement. More deaths occur from a 22LR than a 9mm, and it doesn't take a howtizer to kill someone. Shot placement is key, and you my friend are very adept to such trait. I've been shooting since I was 4, and am 22 now, I own many firearms and love your videos. I carry a Glock 19 daily. Keep up the good work!!!

  • Are you left eye dominant? It looks like you are. Awesome shooting, and sweet range.

  • @shem1911 , Yes.

  • @hickok45 Dude... straight up.... 230 yards with a handgun is absolutley BRILLIANT! I know marines who miss half man targets at 250 yards like CRAZY! you are the MAN! Also... I never thought a .44 Mag could even maintain enough velocity to ensure accuracy at that range!

  • i bet you could take down a polar bear with that!

  • I love the sound the gun makes!!! Defenetly Dirty Harry

  • Unbalievable...how does he do it...

  • nice shootin man

  • hickock45 is the real dirty harry

  • Just wondering how large the "clanger" is at 230?

    FUN STUFF!

  • 230 yds is an absolute insane distance for any handgun. How far above the gong are you holding the sights to account for the bullet drop? I just purchased a brand new Model 29 'Classic' with 6.5" barrel. Haven't shot it yet but when I do, I doubt that I'll be trying anything longer than 50 yards for a while. (and no, I don't like the lock).

    Well done, Hickok!

  • good shooting, I want a Ruger Redhawk 5.5" barrel myself for a .44mag. I never gave any thought to long range hand gun shooting, but I may try my hand.

  • God damn that's awesome.

You can't even see the target on camera it's so far away.

  • Hickok for president ! :)

  • That is impressive ! How big is the gong your shooting at ?

  • NO0O0O0oWAAAY. youre the coolest

  • How high above the target do you have to aim at that distance?

  • we got 1 of them but were gonnause it for ground hogs that thing is awsome

  • dude, that was amazing

  • Congrats! Beautiful Shooting.

  • I wish the fine upstanding citizens of Chicago`s south side aimed that well.

  • how the west was won

  • I shoot my Ruger Super Redhawk a fair amount and don't think I'd be able to match your shooting. Pretty darn impressive!

  • i cant belive that i confused this with the S&W 500 -_-

    but still nice :3

  • again wouldn't wanna be caught breaking into hickok's house

  • Wow, what an awesome display of marksmanship. Loved the video...

  • Wow ur awsome!

  • your such a great shot

  • legendary

  • thats a hell of a shot with a handgun

  • Nice hat. Yellow is your colour.

  • Wow your very good that was awesome

    Great shooting!!

  • Oh my god!

Your more accurate with a pistol than i am with a scoped 7MM!

  • holy crap this guy has good aim

  • Gotta love those big slow rounds, i've shot a 44-40 and it has the same slow report from the gong. Cool sound. BTW i;m not gonna stand down range from you. You shot the same at 230 as i do at 100 although i dont own a handgun so its always borrowed guns.

    Good show Sir

  • This video makes me want to buy a Model 29.

  • You're fantastic! Which book on pistol shooting would you recomend to someone biginning in pistol shooting?

    Thanks for your great work!

  • @wingwongone , If you want something to give the the fever, read something by Elmer Keith, such as "Sixguns." I'm not sure what the best book on technique might be; guess I bypassed all that and just spent lots of time with my pistols. Others might have a suggestion.

  • @wingwongone

Yeah, the best you could do would be to actually take out your pistols and go to a range.

  • Partner thats HIGHLY impressive, do u have any military background? My higher ranking officers in the Marine Core wouldnt be able to compete with this (I dout). I myself earned my "expert pistol achivement" during boot but Ill tell you honestly; I cant do what you just did if I just picked up my S&W .44, maybe with my Beretta tho. Anyways good shooting sir; and dont under play what you did cause like I said that is straight talent. We could use a guy like you in the Core haha.

  • @0311SemperFidelis , No military background; I was too busy chasing girls and a basketball in college during those Vietnam years. At least I was not one of those hippie-types burning his draft card, though. :-) I was just busy taking advantage of free tuition.

  • @0311SemperFidelis do they all spell it "core" instead of Corps too>?

  • @0311SemperFidelis Its not "core" you jackass, its Corps. Higher ranking Officers sign paperwork and give safety briefs before the weekend, they rarely even touch weapons so it wouldnt be a shock that they couldnt shoot. Recruits dont touch handguns in boot, and they never have. Junior Marines dont even touch them, only nco's and higher. If you were a Marine you would know this, instead your a disgusting piece of shit poser. cant stand you fucks.

  • i like when he hits the gong.

    *BANG*

    ...

    "ha ha!"

  • nice shootin. I pretty much max out around 120 yards with standard pistol calibers (9mm, .45). I really doubt I could do this though.

  • Comment removed

  • i'd definitely not want to be trespassing on your lands

  • i think that this 200 yard distance shooting made Elmer Keith think of a 44 mag caliber

  • i really enjoy your videos-best from Greece

  • That's incredible! You may be pretty humble but that is some great shooting!

  • one hell of a good shot..

  • What kinda Bullets you shootin? some sort of handload or a factory load.

  • @smartguy104 , 240 grain handloads. Moderate magnum rounds.

  • I cheered every time I heard the gong. It is always fun shooting :).

  • How high above the target did you have to aim?

  • @frankgon4 , None. See Vlogs. I think it's the one at the Rock Quarry where I explain and demonstrate how I hold.

  • Thanks,

I just subscribed so I will be going through the videos.

Thanks in advance: My brother and I just started reloading and will also be viewing your reloading videos.

  • try shooting a exploding outhouse now.hee hee

  • pretty good shot

  • Great shooting with iron sights at that range! My favorite for reaching out with a pistol is the 45 colt revolver WW I with the half moon clips and 45 auto ammo. Thanks

  • "Man kills deer with iron-sight pistol at 230 yards" Imagine reading that in the paper opening day.

  • @44CONMANJ stupid hillbilly hunters have trouble hitting a dear with a telescopic sight on a rifle and this man can hit a gong which is smaller than a dear at 230 yards while the dear was at 50 yards and the hunter couldn't hit him

  • @44CONMANJ Well, remember what elmer keith did/killed with his revolver?

  • @44CONMANJ if it was in the paper opening day, that would mean he poached it the day before.. right? :P

  • Wow :D You have some skills!

  • you are hella cool man....

  • That was some really good shooting. Is there a-lot bullet drop at 230 yards?

  • is a mini 14 as loud as this thing
