how will you deal without insulin if you have diabetes? in the old days before insulin you could not eat and if you did eat it was eternally protein ultra low sugar and that prolonged life but did little to quality of life. in the end diabetics still died.

My friend, if this would happened only. 0.5% will survive and you and me will not be in it. @cameraguy1968 Even if the plant were to stop working, AND the national grid stopped working at the same time, there are multiple backup power generators (diesel) with multiple levels of redundancy that are all capable of powering the cooling systems long enough to safely shut down the plant.

Surviving in a city and surviving in the country are two different scenarios with its own problems. Setting up snares and traps for food is number one for obtaining food for the average joe and its really not that hard once you know how. This guy is acting like he is riding the fact that he MIGHT be able to find farmhands to work his land to survive, yeah maybe but for the first few months he will come under harassment from armed vagrants, and it will happen if it does happen
I live in a suburb, but I do have good survival skills. I'd like to have more supplies, but I do know most aspects of farming. I know how to grow a sustanible amount of food under ground. Very complicated and expensive, but in armageddon, I'll definetly do it. I'm not as perpared as you, but I won't be raiding your farm for sure, or crawling up in a bundle and dying.

I like your videos but people are not idiots for living in the city. No room for 300 million country folks on this continent. People are not idiots because they adapt to changing environments. Its a community working together. Farmers use the pesticides designed by the city boy scientist. country folk have become dependant on todays world too. Farms run entirely by machine. Sounds like a city without all the people.
I am a prepper and one thing that is not mentioned very often is the need for clean clothes, clean dishes, and the like. I have a bag of just clothes that I have just in case we need to bug out. It would be a good thing to have an emergency bug out bag, box, etc..load it with food, clothes, meds and other necessities that will not spoil or mold. Now, when the SHTF, you will see more families coming together and co habitate just like the 30's and 40's.

I find your generalization about city people surviving rather ignorant. I live in a city, but I am ready for an emergency scenario. I have done my research, practiced survival skills, and have the means to defend my loved ones. I know how to hunt, fish, and I know which wild plants I can eat. I have an extensive garden growing on my balcony (I am able to grow on a farm or on a city patio). The most important thing you can do for survival is to stay in shape - which I do.
Damn straight, its possible to survive in the city with the right knowledge ( you wont have as varied and to be honest better tasting food supply but its there if you know where to look), get into at least decent shape which this guy has failed that, and have adequate firearms training (which most people don't have besides very active and trained shooters have and maybe law enforcement/military), with practical firearms and ammo too

I'm a college educated city born city slicker. Not all city dwellers are clueless! In fact, many of us are pretty darn quick thinkers and problem solvers. I woke up a few months ago, and have watched many hours of YouTube prepping videos. When and if TSHTF, all preppers, whether city or country will need to stick together.

Desert area is only in the southern area of California, Central and Northern has plenty of water and farms to boot, the weather is mild even during the winter, I would suspect those in the Mid-West and North East would have the largest die off when old man winter sets in..
FEMA is contracting for 7 million meals near the New Madrid Fault. I need to earthquake-proof (as best as can be done, anyway) my food supply. The US govt has been buying storable foods for 2 years, now, additionally. They know whats coming and are preparing. Any wise person would do the same.
Question: Why do you need explosives? You live on a farm.I guess you might need to use the explosives against those leaving the cities, as they will travel in-mass and probably strip the countryside. Now how would you and say, twenty of your friends armed with automatic rifles and thousands of rounds defend against an army of a thousand or two armed just as well.
Gun stores, NG armories and police stations will be raided and organized groups of raiders would move to take whats yours...
Keep in mind, inner cities have recently seen the rise of organized gangs due to urban youth's coming back from army training and using those skills to training their friends. Also, what if some semblance of a local warlord or government forms around your area and then by area association, whats yours is theirs? You might have some great ideas but there's a lot of unseen threats for even the most survival conscience of us and while your helpful, I think your forgetting the reason for surviving.

Stock up on 90 percent Alcohol. They'll kill bacteria before they enter your skin, but not unless your stabbed by a dirty object. For that, you'll need antibiotics.
If/when the SHTF (no matter what the cause) all will see just how inhumane human beings are capable of being. As stated before, when your neighbors are starving to death and have a family to "protect" they will do whatever necessary to survive, even if that means killing you to take the supplies you have on hand. It won't come down to survival of the fittest, but survival of the most determined.
You do realize probably all the technology you are using to survive (and make these videos) was developed and created in cities...
Cities are what has always furthered human technology... Not EVERYBODY can live out in the country. While I advocate survival knowledge and definitely preparedness for emergencies and disasters I think you should be careful with your broad blanket statements. People in cities are far from dumb...

Are you talking about if caned food can survive a nuclear attack ?, don't worry about the food because you won't survive.
However yes the food can be safe if its under ground and not just a standard basement either if your talking about a nuclear weapon going off near by, most if not all fresh water will be worthless around ground zero, dust will be hazard to your health as well.

Or are you talking about the outside heat from hot summers, and yes the food will expire much faster in the heat opposed to being cool, you can build a food shelter by just digging a large hole and using the dirt from hole and make a mound around hole, simalar to a root shelter and this will help keep the food cool and in the dark, I don't have a basement but I keep my storage food in a closet but the house has a/c so it does not get hot in the summer.
I also really liked that show. Had a few problems tho. Any of us preppers who watch that show may have some issues. Like they lost water after a few days but had power for a few weeks? That doesn't make sense. And I was screaming " leave the house while u still have stuff to take!!!!" great vid.

I've always lived in small towns, but I did live in Phoenix, AZ for awhile for work (I'm an electrcian) and city people are stupid. They cant even do something as simple as making a fire. I'm so happy I'm out of the city . Now I live in a town that has about 3,000-4,000 people.

We are not all from L.A., in fact I am some 600 or so miles from that hell hole. Here in northern California I have a small ranch, and am trying to become more self reliant everyday. Dude saying city people are dumb is a gross generalization that I take personal offense to that, we just have different skill sets that give us certain advantages and disadvantages. We also deal with a large variety of people on a daily basis (i think its like 1000 some-odd people per day especially with my job i see a LOT of people) so we end up having a good inante read of people which is a highly useful skill.

You're going to make home-made penicillin? Bull. You obviously have no idea what the production of antibiotics require. Its a 3-stage chemical process, & for a one week supply to treat an infection, you would require about 2 metric tons of bread just to produce the first chemical component.

@NurseMeister I've worked on alot of prepping stuff after watching some of these guys videos. My problem with the whole SHTF mindset that alot of guys seem to have. Is there going to horde all this stuff to themself and screw everyone else. If a family with some kids knock on my door hungry and ive got 300 lbs of dried beans downstairs in the basement i think im going to help them. But yeah it goes way to far and one guy with a rifle has the worst chance of surviving as about anyone.

I really liked After Armageddon. It's a wake up call to the fact that people are NOT psychologically prepared for a disaster as well as we all may think. People will panic and even the BEST survival systems and survivalists will be put to the test in terms of functionality and ability to keep the composure when you actually have to take drastic action to survive. That may mean taking a life, or being shot yourself.

@KingRyltar I wouldn't try to make penicillin yourself, you'll likely just give yourself a tummy ache. You'd be better off storing up on Fish-Mox. It's the same stuff we take just labeled for animals. Do a little bit of searching and you can find info on how to safely store and dose yourself. Best of luck and be careful!

I live in a suburb, but I do have good survival skills. I'd like to have more supplies, but I do know most aspects of farming. I know how to grow a sustanible amount of food under ground. Very complicated and expensive, but in armageddon, I'll definetly do it. I'm not as perpared as you, but I won't be raiding your farm for sure, or crawling up in a bundle and dying.

I am a prepper and one thing that is not mentioned very often is the need for clean clothes, clean dishes, and the like. I have a bag of just clothes that I have just in case we need to bug out. It would be a good thing to have an emergency bug out bag, box, etc..load it with food, clothes, meds and other necessities that will not spoil or mold. Now, when the SHTF, you will see more families coming together and co habitate just like the 30's and 40's.

I find your generalization about city people surviving rather ignorant. I live in a city, but I am ready for an emergency scenario. I have done my research, practiced survival skills, and have the means to defend my loved ones. I know how to hunt, fish, and I know which wild plants I can eat. I have an extensive garden growing on my balcony (I am able to grow on a farm or on a city patio). The most important thing you can do for survival is to stay in shape - which I do.

Question: Why do you need explosives? You live on a farm.I guess you might need to use the explosives against those leaving the cities, as they will travel in-mass and probably strip the countryside. Keep in mind, inner cities have recently seen the rise of organized gangs due to urban youth's coming back from army training and using those skills to training their friends. Also, what if some semblance of a local warlord or government forms around your area and then by area association, whats yours is theirs? You might have some great ideas but there's a lot of unseen threats for even the most survival conscience of us and while your helpful, I think your forgetting the reason for surviving.

As a New Yorker I can say, this guy is mainly right about "city folk" most will die if SHTF and I would be in some trouble, but I like to learn. I too live in the south and down here, we do not have basements, as opposed to up north. I need to know if canned foods, mason jar prepared foods, water etc... can go up in the attack. Do you know the maximun heat these items will take before exploding, perforating, etc... Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Are you talking about if caned food can survive a nuclear attack ?, don't worry about the food because you won't survive.
However yes the food can be safe if its under ground and not just a standard basement either if your talking about a nuclear weapon going off near by, most if not all fresh water will be worthless around ground zero, dust will be hazard to your health as well.

Or are you talking about the outside heat from hot summers, and yes the food will expire much faster in the heat opposed to being cool, you can build a food shelter by just digging a large hole and using the dirt from hole and make a mound around hole, simalar to a root shelter and this will help keep the food cool and in the dark, I don't have a basement but I keep my storage food in a closet but the house has a/c so it does not get hot in the summer.

Also firing off full autos wont stop a riot it'll create sudden panic in the crowd making the riot even worse then it was, if it was so efficient then the police would just do that

You're going to make home-made penicillin? Bull. You obviously have no idea what the production of antibiotics require. Its a 3-stage chemical process, & for a one week supply to treat an infection, you would require about 2 metric tons of bread just to produce the first chemical component.
Psychologically, you crave the SHTF to live out your “I would become the teacher; all of those more successful people would suffer and I would be their king” fantasy. Keep dreaming your dreams.

@NurseMeister He may not be able to make antibiotics but he does have some good points and i think his food storage and water filtration vids are useful. Hell even the government says we should store 72 hrs worth of supplies.

@zameul35 Yep, I agree Zameul his vids are basically great insight into what we should be doing to prep... but this online prepping community often takes it way too far (like making homemade pharmaceuticals) and forgets that their is a devision of labor that will always prevent a loan wolf from surviving... this year, last year, a hundred years ago, a millenia ago, ten millenia ago Individuals humans die and die quickly : )

@NurseMeister I've worked on alot of prepping stuff after watching some of these guys videos. My problem with the whole SHTF mindset that alot of guys seem to have. Is there going to horde all this stuff to themself and screw everyone else. If a family with some kids knock on my door hungry and ive got 300 lbs of dried beans downstairs in the basement i think im going to help them. But yeah it goes way to far and one guy with a rifle has the worst chance of surviving as about anyone.

Only thing this guy is going to survive is a pie eating contest folks. He may know a lot, but a dollar to a pickle dog turd says, that there isn't much of it that he can perform. He thinks he's gonna be some kind of survival kingpin in a shtf situation, and have a bunch of slaves tilling his farm. This guy is a joke. I really liked After Armageddon. It's a wake up call to the fact that people are NOT psychologically prepared for a disaster as well as we all may think. People will panic and even the BEST survival systems and survivalists will be put to the test in terms of functionality and ability to keep the composure when you actually have to take drastic action to survive. That may mean taking a life, or being shot yourself.

@KingRyltar Not the mold the pinicillen grows on the mold very crude form of pinicellin but in a worse case senerio it would have to do next winter when I am not using my incubater to hatch chickens I will do a vid

@KingRyltar I wouldn't try to make penicillin yourself, you'll likely just give yourself a tummy ache. You'd be better off storing up on Fish-Mox. It's the same stuff we take just labeled for animals. Do a little bit of searching and you can find info on how to safely store and dose yourself. Best of luck and be careful!

A very valuable skill when you can't run down to the shop and pick up a case of ammo. As for your other points... I would love to see your survival skills as well.
