Kay.. U did awesome both the padkapao and kaidao. This is my husband favorite thai dish. He can have this for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I live in the US and make the kapao w/holly basil and freeze them since we can't get them year round. Thx
Good work Kay..Got to agree with the previous posts though about nam pla and a sprinkle of sugar.... I add a bit of chopped baby corn and a 1 or 2 larger mild chillis as well for a bit more to bite on. Definitely my fave Thai dish to cook.. So easy and cheap to do, but nothings better than getting it from a small soi food market for 30 Baht!!!
@noeski76 Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! I totally agree- sugar is a must and mine was stirred into the soy sauce mix and I FORGOT to mention it!! I must say I don't always put nampla in the dish- rather I add some nampla prik after the fact! Extra chillies rock too. I also like to add some chopped green beans too. xx
Your recipe looks much more authentic than what the Thai restuarants here in America serve. They tend to make a thick watery sauce out of soy and forgo the nam pla prik altogether.
You know-so do I! I may have just forgotten to mention it! Oops! I think a pinch of sugar really balances the flavours out! Thanks for watching- more coming soon!

I actually don't in the recipe- but yes, you are right- there are many versions of this recipe! I like to add my nampla afterwards!Thank you for watching and commenting!

@KayCooks I'm in Boston, but I am of Laotian descent and have a lot of Thai relatives through intermarriage. I make this every chance I get!

I am afraid this as an English way of cooking krapow. This dish lacks sugar, fish sauce would be better to use instead of Kikkoman.

@Sergeimdx Hmmmm....as an English person - albeit one who was born and brought up in Thailand, eating this dish every week, I would beg to differ! x
