@gunboss201 No. What happened was the train parked slightly away from the "terminus" Choa Chu Kang and resumed for the returning trip from Chua Chu Kang again. It is like waiting for the next train only. No fears.

In facts this is the method whereby train operators used to ensure one platform to alight, the other platform for boarding which is known as "Spanish Solution" if I am not mistaken.

Do trains in Singapore stop at a station controlled by a computer? Or are they manually slowed down and stopped by the driver 0.o

@Innerkn0wledge Usually it is computer drive and TO (Train Officers or known as Train drivers) will only open / close the doors. They usually just sit there and watch.

But, it can also be the TO doing everything as well. I believe there is a quota for them to drive per peroid of time as well on top of uncertanities like bad weather (Longer braking distance, so must driver manually control), constructions (For safety reason) etc.

@samuellee1991 AM mode(auto mode) is not allowed during wet weather,track works,any circumstance where the train need to move in reverse mode and lunch time express(at the terminal only).

@1988harold Jurong East Modification Project, where Jurong East is this line's terminus who is also an interchange station, has added another platform to solve current 1 track terminus on the middle platform of the station that bottlenecks the entire North South Line (This line) by requiring a train to park before the station for minutes as there is a train in Jurong East.

@1988harold The train just go a bit further away from the station and then it start from the other side so as to make a return journey. No depots or any other weird wild imagination fairyland did I land to.
