This was one of my favorite movies when I first saw it. Shortly thereafter, I went into the Army and happened to be stationed nearby where it had been filmed in Germany. When I talked with the locals and told them how much I had liked the movie, it was if I'd complimented one of their children. I don't know who was more excited, me for being there or them by having someone from the U.S. who told them what a great movie it was.
