  • It's a very nice sounding guitar. Easy to play, the pickups are clean and crisp, but they bite when you want them to. Most hosers (like some of the clowns who dogged the guitar in this forum) would NOT be able to tell the difference between this guitar and an American made PRS if they played one while blindfolded. The price of this guitar is a bargain for the quality you get.

  • @emarzan7 The USA made guitars definitely feel more refined when played back to back with the Korean made PRS's. Don't get me wrong, nothing against the SE line: better value when you consider their price-point. But there is a distinct step up in tone and feel in the USA line.

  • Santana's guitar tone sucks - no decent guitar player will use a PRS guitar - it's either a Les Paul, Stratocaster or if you are a country hillbilly then a Telecaster - I repeat no respectable musician will use a flat - sterile and lifeless PRS guitar - they have no character

  • @bigwy100 Although I myself prefer LPs, I have to say that Fender and Gibson have history. Any good quality guitar will do the job if it suits the player who has it. Character comes from the player a lot more than from the guitar by itself.

  • @bigwy100 I can bet your a troll but I agree with you. These guitars don't have a sound. They are completely toneless. I think Santana would be 50x better if he used a Les Paul.

  • @bigwy100 I guess this means Al DiMeola is a slouch...

  • I have a CE-22 Alder. A Quality PRS american made guitar. I played the Santana SE at Guitar Center. I was amazed. It is sound quality construction. Beautiful Mahogany, great tone. I liked the pickups better than the Dragon 2's in my current PRS. I was tempted to do a straight out trade! I think the CE-22 alder is a rare guitar now and probably will fetch a good payback in a few years.

  • Guitar Wolrd is to find another guitar that did not make the instrument is worse than it already?

  • I'd rather pick up a second hand american fender. Its ridiculous. If someone just laid out the specs and blind sound test without names prs se would go out of business. people use them just because it says PRS on it

  • PRS guitars are beautifully made, amazing looking, very, very expensive - and totally lacking in tonal character!

  • im thinkin between a Gibson es335 and a prs....i play blues rock...ADVICE???

  • @ColinPRS

    Word bro...word...

  • @SGdude93 first of all, I do not believe that. Secondly, I don't want a guitar neck that cannot be tossed in the trash and replaced with one that's better for me. So, unless I have a luthier carve one for me, I have no use for a set neck.

  • @Maafa1619 Spot on, comapre a Strat with a PRS Custom or McCarty, or even a sub standard Les Paul, anyone who can't believe this needs their ears tested!!

  • You couldn't give me a set neck electric guitar.

  • @Maafa1619 why not? set necks help to improve sustain and tuning

  • PRS actually care about their customers... Paul himself is an awsome dude, and he actually plays guitar...

  • Its funny how every one is talking about non USA guitars being low in quality.I think the world needs to wake up that there is an unnecessary and unjustified premium for guitars made in USA or in Europe. It wont be long before the USA series will be made in china when people in USA cant afford USA signature models any more and if PRS has to sell 10K guitars a year they will go to china no matter what. Korea and China have established themselves as quality manufacturing hubs at a lower cost.

  • @sparkelius I will have to disagree with you on that buddy. These guitars are made for entry level players with entry level appointments.. Veneer, Cheap pickups, etc... this guitar makes it so a 15 year old can own a guitar that has PRS on the headstock.. It is nowhere close in quality to an American made instrument Gibson, PRS or otherwise

  • @damienrouse dude, i saw you hatin' on prs on another video. just give it a break. I have played this guitar, i compared it to a Gibson SG, and this guitar was far superior is sound and build quality. the sg frets cut my hand, and the neck was all scratchy, this guitar compares to my $1200 japaneese made Jackson, in build and sound quality, stop hating on a guitar you have never played

  • @aeroplane490 I own american made PRS guitars, I think they are some of the finest made on the planet.. But if you think that this korean made thing with its fake veneer top and cheap pickups is anywhere close to them then you are insane.. I have played these, they are a damn sight better than the SE lines previous tries but nothing close to a quality instrument.. And whats worse is that people believe that they are... ridiculous

  • @damienrouse I like this guitar, i don't think it's cheap. I might not own an American PRS, if that's how you're basing your judgement, thats fine, but it is better made with higher quality parts than many guitars under $1000, better and fancier than any Gibsons i have used at under $2000, as well as fender

  • @aeroplane490 Thats not how I am basing my judgement.. The biggest thing I have against this guitar are the cheap appointments( fake veneer, import pickups).. You may not think a Les Paul Studio is as nice as this guitar now... But even if a Studio costs under 1000 dollars, it will have American made pickups and wont have a fake veneer top made to look like a nice finish... But you do get 800 dollars worth of American made guitar that will hold value, not smoke and mirrors....

  • Pretty Trebly for the neck pick up or is it the distortion tone turned all the way up ?

  • can you use this guitar for shredding like steve luthaker og gary moore, or randy rhoads?

  • I was expecting to see him shredding on a skateboard

  • PRS guitars suck...they have no soul...precision parts dont mean a damn thang...

  • @ColeDrankWilly Another Gibson Fanboy.

  • What amp and effects is he using

  • Too expensive guitars ç_ç WHY!

  • @MarteTheBest This guitar is like 700 dollars.

  • Herrliches Instrument!

  • PRS Y U NO MADE 24 FRETS SANTANA SE??

  • thumbs up if u played 1 of these

  • id lke to hear ot straight into an amp, thats it.

  • These guitars are great! Gonna be saving up for one!

  • I wish the normal custom se's have the curved body as well :(

  • I'm mostly an Ibanez and ESP player myself, but easily one of the best guitars I've ever played was a PRS SE model. It just felt perfect to hold, it wasn't too heavy or light, and the pickups kicked ass!

  • would like to hear it clean

  • the bridge pickup is pretty moot, since santana says he only ever uses the neck

  • What is that ? if u can't tell us what amp u use it don't make any sens...

  • Sweet sounding guitar , it just sings on the top end . I'm buying one tomorrow !

  • Why do I recognize the song he plays starting at 3:12? That's a Santana song isn't it?

  • hey Paul! I want your job.

  • paul has the wierdest picking technique..

  • This guy sounds like Joe Pesci (when he speaks!)

    "I'm funny, how?"

  • Every year, PRS raises the standards on their SE models a little higher. I'd take almost an PRS SE over a Standard American Strat or Gibson Les Paul Studio any day of the week.

  • What amp do you use? Many of us here want to know this! Thank you

  • I love prs guitars! If you ain't buying it first your getting it lAst

  • Price ?

  • @eydenv US street price around $700, in Europe we pay a premium for some reason because it's the same in Euros. It's high on my list though, and I'm not easily persuaded by far-East budget lines of any brand.

  • I have the chance of buying the pickups in here for 60 bucks. shud i do it?

  • Ah heard black magic woman around 4:30

  • the head stock looks different to santanas

  • If you guys think that this is as good as a USA Santana $5000 guitar, then you are truly clueless. Yu surely have never played the real thing.

  • This is a great guitar. I usually don't pay attention to the Korean models but this plays great. It is easy to play and and the quality is top knotch.

One tips though if you buy this guitar I would buy a pair of aftermarket humbuckers, wiring kit, and a tonestyler tone pot. Take it to your local shop and have it set up. The stock pickups are pretty generic and kind of weak. Look for some PAF replicas and drop them in there.

Youll thank me in the end!

  • @BlueAvenue22 What struck me most is that -although I think they sound very good for the price- they're quite bright and edgy, even neck-only. I know how to adjust PAF-style pickups though and would lower them a bit, and adjust the individual polepieces. Plus, there's always the tonecontrol on either amp or axe. Another tip if one would take your advice is to get the PRS signature Santana pickups that are on the market. Here they're around E120, probably the same in $.

  • @rustinpieces I've played a Santana III with covered Santana pickups and I dont think I've ever heard a better lead tone before. If you can find them then yes get them! I've been looking and they're a relatively rare buy

  • you haven't played anything on the bridge pickup ! i wana hear how it sounds on the bridge pickup !

  • @zohaib7

    Go to guitar center.

  • @baconbut95 - thats assuming i live in a country that has a guitar center lol. why did you assume that ? in case you still don't get it. my country doesnt have a guitar center. any more suggestions ?

  • @zohaib7

He uses the bride pickup at 1:30.

  • @zohaib7 He has. Look carefully at the toggle-switch.

  • im getting one 4 christmas yay!!! :)

  • @JIRIC8581

    Suuuure.

  • @baconbut95 ok... :l

    lol fail :)

  • Dude can make the damn thing sing.

  • MARTY MCFLY!!!!!!

  • I would like to buy the cherry color

  • i cant stop watching this video

  • Santana is cool!

  • You are VERY good at imitating the Santana (bending strings) style and a very good player. Love it and makes me want this guitar even more. Anyone know where I can find this guitar $600 or under?

  • it's so responsive! the bends come out nice and clear

  • I played one of these today and was very surprised. It played better than all of the name brand guitars (Gibson, Fender, G&L, ESP, Jackson, etc) I played today that were twice the price.

  • I don't know why this is... but whenever a bands guitarists both use Gibson and PRS guitars, the combined sound is godly. Like, more godly than any other combo lol. Just listen to Nickelback and Breaking Benjamin.

  • This is a great guitar I played it the other day

  • very nice gain, very fuzzy

  • i just played one of these today...what a beautiful piece of art...and for the price you cant beat it

  • As long as it's PRS... no problem... It's QUALITY.

All SE models are manufactured in Korea.. All signatured models are USA...

In other words "no china"... PRS is better than Gibson (for me). In terms of quality..

    Gibson undeniable famous.,(sincerely to say)

  • @archangelmichael7 I would buy an SE before I ever bought a Epiphone.

  • @archangelmichael7 Gibson is such an awesome guitar, but i preffer a hole life PRS Guitars. Best guitar in this world.

  • @archangelmichael7 wait so is this usa cuase its a signtature se?

  • @jacktheguitarman no, because its still an SE model, sadly its a GREAT guitar though

  • @jacktheguitarman Now we go to the student line of the two... PRS SE(Student Edition) vs. Epiphone... Korean made vs China made.

Everybody knows that Korean made is better than china made it terms of quality. If you want a proof, visit your nearest music store and try to compare the PRS SE and Epiphone.. Whether the signatured line or the student line, PRS rules for me...

  • @archangelmichael7 Korea is as good as USA... just try a frakking Warwick Standard (yes I'm a bass player..)... Germany, Denmark, Japan and Sweden beats anything made anywhere else...

  • is that the dude from back to the future

  • do you have tabs for this?

  • @gunsnroseswttj hes just noodling bro. try learning it by ear

  • @BlueAvenue22 Or learn to improvise is what I'd say... I way prefer to improvise as you can't make a mistake you don't know your way out of when on stage.

  • How do you keep the guitar in tune with all those bends and trem use? On my PRS SE Custom 24, if i tune up to pitch, it will stay in tune when i bend but will not when trem is used. Then if i tune down to pitch, it will stay in tune when trem is used but not when i bend strings.

  • Sounds very Santana-y

  • @DarynPowell Korean-made PRS guitars (i've one of this model) are actually VERY reasonably priced and basically as good quality

  • Is a more comprehensive review on here from GuitaristMag channel - just put Santana in the Uploads search on their channel to view it

  • please teach this shield's maker.

  • Does the Santana SE have a flat front like the Custom 24 SE?

  • @kaiserthegreat1 No, it's gently carved - not as much as the US model though.

  • I love the sound of the zebra's

  • Michael Jackson's voice.

  • I'd really like to know which amp Paul uses on this demo also.

  • What amp did you ues with this guitar

  • fantastic sound !

  • this model, or allender or torero, send me a msg. thanks.

  • @chmusiclessons It depends, what kind of music do you generally play?

  • @chmusiclessons Well, they're very different... the Allender and Torero have EMG pickups and the Santana has regular passive pickups. The SE Custom 24 is a nice compromise, it has passive pickups but they're quite hot (I have one and it's fantastic). If I had to pick between your options, I would go with the Santana, but that's just me.

  • For anyone who says PRS is "outrageously" priced they cost that way for a REASON.They are quality guitars!!!They look good and more importanly,THEY SOUND AWESOME.Tell me between a Gibson Les Paul Plus which cost around $3000 and a PRS SE Mikael Akerfeldt model which cost around $650

  • beautiful tone

  • I love soloing on PRS, they sing.

  • its so sexy the way you play !!!

  • That guitar sounds amazing!! What amp is he using?

  • i like this guitar but still the dragon II pickups on the original prs santana are fkn sick!

  • @digitrixster That's guitarworld's specialty unfortunately.

  • @digitrixster DUDE WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?HE PLAYS EACH PICHUP.AND HIS DEMO OF THIS GUITAR MADE ME BUY THIS GUITAR.IF YOU DONT LIKE THIS DEMO GO AND WATCH ONOTHER ONE..DONT BLAME HIM..HE PLAYS AMAZING GUITAR.

  • @ronidanielronaldinho First off, I wouldnt trust anyone on buying a guitar if they cannot even spell the word "pickup"

  • @TheCameron311 ok first off all ,not every one can speak english very well .secondly not all of us have a rich father and probably neither you do because you are watching this video so shut the FUCK up or if you have a rick father and you do have a better guitar try playing more than writing more.

  • @ronidanielronaldinho Ok he might use all 3 "PICKUPS" but its nothing but SUPER SATURATED GAIN. Plus Its not even the real santana model. Its an SE. Ill take like 3,000$ prs not the 600$ one

  • @TheCameron311 Do you even know WHY the non-SE versions are more expensive? No? Let me explain then: The non-SE models have a carved 3/4 inch maple top (which is both expensive to buy and expensive to cut), MOP or Abalone inlays (also VERY expensive) as opposed to the plastic used on the SE models, and locking tuners. Everything else is EXACTLY the same. So your basically paying over $2,000 more for aesthetics. Sure, it's nice to have an expensive guitar, but true musicians want sound, not looks

  • @feo130 you are partially correct, the aesthetics are a big part of why the non-SE series are more expensive but the electronics also play a big part for example each prs non-se series pickup costs about $200 and there is no denying that the se series pickup, although good, aren't even close to normal prs p'ups. just like most pickups actually.

there are probably a few more differences in electronics that i dont know of/understand properly.

the se models are also made in korea, unlike the norm.

  • @Pitamar1 You are also partially correct. The pickups in the SE are only $10 cheaper than the ones in the USA models, and can always be swapped. In fact, when I played my SE at the store, I was completely unaware that it was a Korean model because it sounded and played just like the USA models I played in the past. When I looked at the price tag, I knew that it was easily double what it was going for. In fact, I prefer it to my Gibson SG!

  • @digitrixster If you watch, during each of the demo's, you'll find that he is playing in different pup configurations. Look at where he has the toggle switch positioned on each playing example.

  • Comment removed

  • @digitrixster ...How stupid can you be? He does go through each pickup, he does play clean. The beginning was Santana like because its a SANTANA guitar. And his cleans can never be PERFECTLY clean because of the pickups used. Next time don't watch ten seconds of the video then judge it.

  • @digitrixster Very true. I have this guitar, and one of it's best features is the clean sound. It sounds brilliant, at least in my ears. I usually listen to Porcupine Tree, Opeth

  • @digitrixster yup

  • @digitrixster their goal is to sell guitars for their partners, so they try to make a "santanish" sounding effect, just to make santana fans buy it, the guitar is a prs se, and not better than the others

  • @digitrixster

he does demonstrate each pickup dumbass, look at the switch, troll.

  • @digitrixster I kinda of agree although i always hated clean channels but it sounds pretty good to me that is if he isnt demoing a 2000 dollar amp 2

  • @digitrixster like you can tell how a $700 guitar sounds thru your shitty computer speakers anyway... try before you buy if you want a real demo!!!!

  • How much does i have to pay per month to get your job????

    Its reeeealy coool dude

  • @vladd001 I asked what amplifier he is using in order to understand how he is producing that tone. Does anyone know how he is producing that tone?

  • Oh yeah, Me like, I played this the other day and I like it a lot. the neck is perfect for my fretting hand. I can't wait to have this baby. ;)

  • beautiful guitar! very sweet sound! can anybody tell me what is the scale or arpeggios ! that is using! thanks!

  • what type of amp is he using?

  • @Pslams119 finaly a smart question!

    what amp??

  • Bought this exact guitar last month. The 24 1/2 neck makes bending strings much easier. Great tone, and the trem is great too. It is my first PRS, but it won't be my last. Love everything about it.

  • umm clean tone????

  • is it good at shredding and metal like symphony of destruction etc????

  • @secondvongola ofc not xD if you want to shred and play metal buy any Ibanez RG

  • Can you comment on the "wide-fat" neck. I have smaller hands, so the term "wide-fat" scares me.

  • @Inverted314 I have one of the first run Santana and the necks are huge but if your new to playing its fine

  • @ff8tapwned Thats not to say its uncomfortable

  • I want this guitar so bad that i watch it every morning when i wake up.I reeeeaaaaalllllyyyyyy want this guitar.

  • @Puertorico2494

then get a job and buy it

  • @xJan008x I can't no one will hire because i'm a minor.

  • @xJan008x

there's always a way to earn money

  • How does PRS compare to say a Les Paul Studio? They look better for 1/3 of the price, how do they play?

  • @Inverted314 i just bought this guitar a few days ago.. i played it in the store comparing it with the les paul studio and a few others and to me, it blew them all away, for about 1/3 to 1/2 of the price.. and this guitar is a beauty. it plays like butter, and plays any type of music i do, bot just santana styled playing.. if you have any other questions, i'd be happy to answer them. ;)

  • is this a really good guitar for studio recording?? and do they do it lefty? thank you..

  • Very nice guitar. I had a PRS SE Custom before (sold it for other gear) and it was excellent, fit and finish rivaled the Epiphones. My only beefs are 1. the tremolo- which is excellent on these SE models BTW, needs locking tuners, and 2. the headstock. If PRS can make the body just like the USA Santana, they can make the headstock just like it too.

  • mean prs

  • Comment removed

  • @nahs1988 what about Suhr's Rasmus guitars? even gets a plek job

  • @MyLifeChanger I don't know much about suhr guitars.

  • @nahs1988 actualy epiphone sends their guitars to the us for inspection ... new ones will have a sticker saying that it was inspected by an epiphone employee here in the usa

  • @caulinrocker1 Epiphone is a nice guitar too. Oversea Gibsons. I was just pointing out that the guitar the guy was playing is inspected and setup in the US but there is no real one set up for all players. Once someone gets their guitar their going to set it up to their taste anyway;-)

  • @nahs1988 i see what your saying ... prs is very nice and im getting my first one soon ... its gonna be a hollowbody 2 with peizo

  • @caulinrocker1 That's a beautiful guitar. Have fun with it.

  • So whatever he was playing reminded me a bit of black magic woman and does anybody else think that those bends kinda sounded Synyster Gatish?

  • @Emilioh25 yes

  • @PeanutButterGtr hey I need help :/ I just bought a double cut away les paul guitar with that see through blue finish and chrome hardware. I dont really like to clean my guitars all the time and I get sweat and fingerprints all over. Will it ruin the finish and rust the hardware? Please help im a noob to guitar

  • @andrewvanrhoberts No, it shouldn't ruin it. But you need to make a habit of cleaning them regularly.

  • @andrewvanrhoberts If the finish is polyurethane (probably is), nuclear fallout would not damage it. Any good guitar polish can safely clean it. Use a clean 100% Cotton cloth. Wipe the finish, hardware, and strings down after each playing session. Once or twice a year, treat the fingerboard with lemon oil- if the board is rosewood or ebony (probably is). These basic things would never harm your guitar and will keep it looking great.

  • @DarynPowell totally agree

  • a lot of guitar effects... reverb, delay, etc... please... the video with clean sound is better for guitar reviews.

  • is this guitar american made or is it like those prs made in Korea???

  • @oliverkahn2 se's are made in korea i think, built in the US. the non se's are made and built in the US

  • @oliverkahn2 its made in korea but has alot of usa appointments like the trem, pickups, and tuners
