  • I can't wait for the day when we're able to replicate this sound quality inside the engines themselves.

  • Did you know that pressing, and while holding, the "Shift" button on the cab and then pressing "Prog/ESC" is the f10 button. That way you dont have to hit "Option" at all. Works on Power Cab, and Pro Cabs.

  • why did you put the sounds through your speakers

    ?

  • does this decoder have the whooping sound effect of the air pump for GE????

  • @originalgrump100 That's pretty cool!!!Did the MRC box have different selections of Locomotive engines, horns, bells, etc? It'd be nice if Soundtraxx could come up with something like that,I'd prefer it over the individual loco equiped sound.

  • Would it be possible to use the Soundtraxx Tsunami and wire it to track power, then run the speaker wires to "the special box",and run the Loco with a standard DCC decoder. And have numerous speakers placed individually around a layout powered by a Home theater system?

  • awesome sound quality... much better than those tiny speakers in the loco.

  • cool stuff, this might sound crazy but i would like to figure out a a way to use the sound system for a 645 e and run it on my semi, with weatherproof speakers and lots of power,i run a 5 chime nathan airhorn and a bell on my truck and i am a locomotive engineer as well ,i drive trains and i work my truck as well,i think that would be cool, any ideas please.

  • is there Another Way to set up Manuel notching for the power cab with out the extra hitting of option? I run a switching layout So by the time I get to notch three I would of technically been half way around the layout....

  • @mountainlova1009 By default when you set the Tsunami to manual notching mode you use F9 and F10 for up and down notching sounds set CV116 = 0. You can remap the function keys in the Tsunami for F5-F8 to swap places with F9-F12. You do this by setting CV30 = 4. Then notching would be on functions F5 and F6 and would make it a lot easier to do the notching. This has nothing to do with the PowerCab or any other brand of DCC throttle. This is all done with CV values in the Tsunami.

  • @cp6027 I just Did that with my RS-1, With No luck, infact I lost my Notch setings for a second... I don't want to reset my whole decoder, i have Brakes set to F5 and Coupler crash set to F6... Is that getting in the way of things Cause I can't see to undo that

  • @mountainlova1009 Never Mind, it still doesn't Notch up, or Shut down

  • @mountainlova1009 Now the Decoder Doesn't respond, it just starts up and idels, I can't even access it... Great.. Im getting sick of this DCC bullshit...

  • @originalgrump100 This was a video on how to play sound through your home amp, not a tutorial on how to use an NCE PowerCab. I see that you have uploaded ZERO videos to Youtube, and here I thought you were a Youtube Expert.

  • an awesome video.

  • how did you add the ditch lights to this locomotive?

  • I drilled out the factory dummy ditch light lenses and used CA to glue in some 1.5v micro bulbs.

  • oh ok, thank you very much!

  • wow i have that same controller nice vid

  • wonder when they will come out with a wireless sound decoder so we can pipe it thru our sound system??

  • This is testament and proof of how good the Tsunami realy is!

  • Sounds Awesome!

  • excellent! now your cookin! I think you've started something. Next time crank those speakers----notice how the dust is falling--you'll have the room dust free in a few days.

  • I don't know... with that GE spewing all that exhaust in that small room.. I think you're only making the problem more serious!

  • Nice setup. You could wake the neighbours with that horn turned up LOL!! Looks like I'll be doing the same with an EMD 645 very shortly.

  • Send me a e-mail if you do setup something similar, I would like to discuss the setup and your experience. We can compare notes on the results.

  • The decoder did well with them im sure you know i like Pioneer and Infinity from watching my videos

  • very cool i like your sound system what model is the amp? Pioneer is awesome and what kind of speakers are you driving?

  • It's older equipment, just a Pioneer VSX-710S and some Infinity bookshelf speakers, The sub woofer is an advent 12" powered unit. This video is just a demonstration on what you could do with the decoder. I really wanted to see how good the decoder could be with larger speakers than the tiny ones in the train engine.

  • after applying it to the larger speakers, where you as impressed as i was?? that sound is amazing. how hard was it to install the Tsunami in the Athearn RTR?

  • Yes it's very impressive. I added a link in the sidebar on how I did the install of theTsunami.

  • thats awesome
