We used to go to Wallach's Music City across from the SouthBay Shopping Center (Now the South Bay Galleria). The Beach Boys used to hang out there and listen to records.
I ran across this landmark the other day on the way home from work. I was curious to see the house where Brian Wilson grew up in and also wanted to see the area overall in which the Beach Boys began. I couldnt find the house because I didnt know that it didnt exist anymore. I stopped in front of the landmark while thinking about one of my favorite songs, "In my room" which I can really relate to.

I would rather go see the Beach Boys from behind a curtain than go see the Beatles front stage any day, I'm not kidding.

@eydrien - Great -
if you go west of here about 6 blocks
you will be on Hawthorne Blvd & about 118th - look for a FOSTERS FREEZE Drive In
burger joint- stop in and take a couple photos there - Brian & the Boyys used to hang out there -
look for CougarTown (dot) COM and place a chat on the feedback page - you may get a local to hook up with & share stories about Brian

Thank you for sharing this holy ground with this place in our hearts.
I lived in the city of Lawndale just to the south of this as a DHL driver in the 1980's.
Every time I hear the Beach Boys I think of the time I spent living there. I'm sure I drove past the spot 100's of times but no monument then.
Thank You for sharing
