To be honest, if that kallay motherfucker had been hit by a grenade, tearing off his arms and legs, leaving him blind, mute, immobile and in solitary confinement for the next 60 years, I would not have felt bad for even a second
@TheAdjundantReflex The same how X squadron is never reported on in the UK. No one really knows of its exsistance, oh yea and James Bond don't forget :P
@darkcanuck the SAS have for decades used the m16 because it is a more universal weapon than the l85 in the sence that a great many of the worlds armys use it, where as the SA80 is a great big advertisement saying 'we are most likely British', the identity of the unit or army you are a part of is more hidden with an m16 as doezens of nations use it.
@aaronlin52 Are you claiming that the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta, and 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment members who participated in the battle of Mogadishu in 1993 alongside the 75th Ranger Regiment weren't U.S. Special Forces? Because last time I checked those two units were the very definition of American Special Forces.
yes a single burst from an AK CAN bring down a chinook, all it takes is a few lucky shots at rotor engines, fuel tanks etc, chinooks arnt armoured at all.
@DLS95 Npe your right, the standard issue British assault Rifle is the L85 A2. the SAS use what ever weapon they feel is right for the mission. Mostly they use M16, M4, AR15 because of its moudlarity i think (or that makes sence anyway)
Yes they use M16, which is lighter, more accurate and has a higher rate of fire than other weapons. I think now they use a modified version, the name of which escapes me
Wow they took over 7 days to rescue the hostages.... SAS and their commanders are ridiculous... STOP with the political BS and launch the rescue mission immediately and not 7 days after key intel.
...You've really proves why the SAS are the best. Because they WAIT to firgure out key information so that they can carry out the mission as efficiently as possible - not run in and get the shit blasted out of them like the USSF did in Takur Ghar
@SPRules44 , Not bad for a recreation, however, I was the first guy into the camp, played the part of a hostage out for a shit, relayed orders to OC hostages, took out a couple of sentries, later I convinced the rebel leader to talk,
@SPRules44 well they werent held prisoners on takur ghar so they didnt actually have enough time to plan it out but the I truly admit that the SAS is a legit force but not he best
@SPRules44 It depends on who has the final say. If at that time, the USSF sucked,
they should have learned from their mistake and became better, and with respect i must say that SAS might not be the best. Who knows? maybe there might be a force with much more advanced tactics ?
@x3Crunchy I have to say that the British Special Forces are the best, and for good reason because of their history and success. General David Petraeus said that British forces are the best trained, go and read the article and read about Task Force Black General-David-Petraeus-says-SAS-spectacular go and check it out on Google
@x3Crunchy Doubtful we wrote the books on many tactics especially hostage situations, a shit load of special forces are based on the SAS and thats just one of the specialist regiments in Britain

The very best of the BEST of the American Special Forces are not publicized, so no one knows of their existence.
That being said, the SAS kick ass as well. Respect from Canada/America.

I don't think that they use armor piercing round in hostage rescue because a bullet may over-penetrate and accidently kill a hostage.
The SAS's M16 version is Diemaco's the C7
