  • wth is she doing...?

  • çoook kısa olmş yaaa kısa:short

  • she's not really good at the elbow freeze but the rest is great

  • That's really cute. She's really good. One thing I've started to learn is that Breakin was created by males and the moves involved tend to be fairly aggressive and masculine. I think it would be great if girls could create their own acrobatic dance style that may be similar to breaking but perhaps more graceful and feminine.

  • Actually thats not entirely true. Yes, the moves require a lot of power, but I know about a dozen of bgirls that do amazing powermoves - i seen flares, one handed hops (about 12 of them), many windmills including supermans, twists and salti.

Havent seen air-tracks yet though :-)

  • I'm sure girls are capable of pretty much any move guys are. I was actually talking about style, though, not capability. The style of movement of breaking tends to be masculine because it was created by men and men of course tend to communicate masculinity in their body language. Gymnastics, on the other hand, seems to be not gender specific at all in it's style. Ballet, though, tends to be more feminine.

  • So the way I think of it is that any guy or girl could do any of these 3. However, a girl is going to have more feminine movements while doing ballet than she would breaking, and a guy is going to have more masculine movements while breaking than he would doing ballet. Gymnastics seems to be pretty much neutral to me.

  • I would argue that some gymnastics aren't gender neutral at all, like floor routines. When I see most male gymnast floor routines I cringe a little. They don't change their form to appear more masculine though, or they'd be scored lower. Same goes with b-girls, if they feel they need to dance differently they are allowed to but if they look as wack as the girl in this video they will be scored accordingly :) I'm not anti-bgirl at all, I love bgirls like Beta and Jeskills etc who have nasty style
