  • LOL xD hah i bet they did something similar to this with Skylines since on average both Skylines and Citroen Saxos are the top2 modifiable cars of this culture.

  • chavs lol decent wee cars saxos thanks to these muppets they get a bad name look what happened to big bodykits gone just like max power magaine never did under stand why you would stick a jap style bodykit on a french car surely you would just buy a jap car to do that must be getting old or some thing lol

  • he tries had to fit in with the hipsters haha :)

  • if it comes to tuning, nothing beats the skyline!

  • so, jeramy went to britain's version of a "ricer" meet with a few tuners?

  • I love those old e30s.

  • 40 or 50 grand... so a Ferrari F355?

  • What does 'ricer' exactly mean? I've been learning English for about 8 years now, and from what I understand it's just another racist term for Arabs and Kazachs.

  • @TheREALViccieB1993 Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements.

  • @TheREALViccieB1993 basically if a car is a ricer, that means it has loads of modifications done to the exterior of the car that do not serve any practical purpose. For instance, a stock 1.6 litre honda civic with a full body-kit, a giant wing and oversized rims is a ricer since nothing has been done to the actual performance of the car (such as the engine, transmission, brakes, suspension etc).

  • @GuitarnScythes Cheers mate, been wondering for some time!

  • Comment removed

  • Oh dear.

I love modified cars, but only ones done right. I remember watching this on TV when it was new and thought the same then.......why do they always seam to find the plebs to interview? lol

I just want to make something clear to everyone here..........not everyone into car modifying is the same. Some are just petrol heads, enthusiasts about their cars, not idiots who think it's cool or funny to do burn outs and hand-brake turns.

It makes me sad when people think we're all the same :-(

  • izz about flexin innit

Clarkson: What the f--- are you talking about?

  • Half of the Scum of the Nation are there...

& The other half are busy stealing shit...

  • british ricers

  • when future generations see this photo they will think god were they all retarded?! If you spend that much money modifying on your shitty car, why not just spend the money on buying a better car? Modifying almost always ruins the car.

  • when future generations see this photo they will think god were they all retarded?!

  • Saxos and 106 are dated cars, only models that even are worth modifying (though not too worth it these years) are the Cup and the GTI.

  • 'Does anybody here speak english?!?!' 'Jezza, you're in England mate..'

  • I love it how they say they would put a v8 in it or what not when Jeremy asks them what they would do to it....when in reality they would probably just rice it out and barely do anything performance-wise

  • I'm 19 years old. Drive a Volvo S40 1.8. It's expensive to run, sure, but I adore it. Now I'm sure a Saxo is a good laugh on a back road, but to live with...well I'm sorry, but I wouldn't be able to drive around in something as unrefined and as unsafe as Saxos are (2 star NCAP)

For the record spending 21k on a Saxo is the most stupid thing you could possibly do with 20k

  • @racer17551

    Your profile says 28.

    Here, you say 19.

In the comments on other videos, you write nothing but bullshit.

And the funniest part is: You don't even have a car. If you would, you would be able to post a video about it.

  • @FrozenBlaze

    I'm 19 yes. I just put a random age.

I write BS in your opinion.

Oh and I didn't know you had to post a video of a car to ACTUALLY own it silly me. My car is a gold S40 1.8 S with a ASD tuning boot spoiler. I do own a car and if you don't believe me well I don't give two shits too be hones.t

  • @racer17551

Volvo fanboys: Gotta love those retards. 8)

  • @FrozenBlaze

"I'm a car enthusiast and a motoring journalist with passion for all forms of motorsports and especially drifting"

I'm I talking to the owner of this account? car enthusiasts and journalists don't go around youtube name calling like a pre pubescent school boy. REAL car lovers like all types of car. Guess you better change that profile kiddo.

  • @racer17551

Says a dumbass who goes around trash talking on every possible car featuring a car, other than a Volvo.

    Especially french cars.

Guess you better kiss my ass.

  • @FrozenBlaze

Are you a child? I can trash talk any car I want especially french cars. Want to know why? I owned a french car. A 1999 V REG Megane 1.6 16V sport. PIECE OF SHIT. Good engine and crap everything else. For the record Volvo is not my only car make I like. others include....Audi, Merc, BMW, Saab, Subaru.

  • @racer17551

Woooow, you've owned 1 french car? Congratulations, your knowledge on them must be great.

Well, a username that contains "racer" and a bunch of numbers pretty much sums it all up.

  • @FrozenBlaze

Yes because French cars have a rep for build quality and reliability? lol don't try for one minute and pretend that french cars are considered good cars. They're cheaply built and you fully well know it. . PS - my name does not reflect me as a person and you are clearly grasping for straws and are clearly upset over my dislike of french cars...which is odd since you seem so confident they're good cars? Someones indenial....

  • @racer17551

Yes, they have a bad reputation: With the old cars.

Otherwise you could say that the new Italian cars are junk, just because the old ones are those. Alfa? Ferrari? Lambo? Lancia? Fiat? All of them had a helluva' lot of problems. Just like french cars.

And German cars? Same deal. More reliable than a french car? Definetely.

But it's obvious that the Renault you had is the only french car you've ever driven.

    Driven a Picasso? C2-5? 106, 207, 306 or 407? New Megane? Propably not.

  • @FrozenBlaze

Thanks for the mature response I genuinely respect you for that.

I understand not all french cars are *crap* Citroen for example came 11th in the JD power survey. However my own ownership experience put me off them. I've also worked on a few french cars when I had a temp position at my local garage. I do secretly like the Citroen DS3 and the Pug RCZ i a car I'd be tempted to own. I'm happy with my Volvo at this moment, but you never know, maybe in the future I'll convert.

  • @racer17551

Basing opinions on cars trough an experience of one car isn't a good thing.

If it would be, then I'd call all Volvo's crap just because of having owned a 740GL. But because I've driven owned a 850LT and driven many Ocean Race models, along with a lot of T5's, I know that they aren't.

  • @FrozenBlaze

To be honest with you my megane wasn't actually *unreliable* But the cheap side of the car made it so tiresome to live with.

Heavy stiff clutch - Apparently common

Creaky suspension and too many rattles to name. I would consider a french car from say ..... 2011? It seems Citroen are doing well right now and that's good to hear. I wouldn't touch a megane again, maybe a Clio 2005 > Had I drive in one of these and it felt gulp CLASSY :P

Out of interest what went wrong with your740

  • @racer17551

The 740GL? Ehh... To put it short, the engine blew up all of a sudden in Helsinki, then it caught on fire.

That was the end of that car. After that, I got the 850LT, which was a much better car (still have some videos of it).

After that, I moved back to BMW E34, again. This time a 525i. And after that, an M5 that I still have (but don't drive often).

Later on, my dad bought himself a C63 AMG and was selling his C32 AMG, which, as you might guess, I bought from him (and still paying)

  • @FrozenBlaze

On fire? wow that's unfortunate. Oh and congrats on owning an AMG merc. Lovely cars.

  • @racer17551

It was in the news too. Happened back in 2008... Imagine how embarrasing it was to comment for the media "It just... Blew up. Then it caught on fire. I don't know the reason".

And I still don't know the reason, as we didn't inspect it anyhow afterwards. A wild guess would be that the engine overheated and the heat indicator wasn't working properly.

And the AMG: It's expensive to own and keep. Fun car, but not fun to own. Don't be like me and buy a car while drunk.

  • @FrozenBlaze

The running costs have to worth taking that car a run :) Had a run in my mothers 9-5 aero and it really shifts. Shame being 19 year old I can't get insured on it :(

  • @racer17551

And same goes for any other car: Even the old Renault Clio that there's a video about (and no, I don't own it, nor does anyone of my relatives; It's a 1000€ slinger we have on sale in our used-cars company), despite being a crappy 1.4 litre, non A/C little hatchback, it IS a good car: It works, it get's you from point A to B.

And sorry for my earlier comments, I childishy wrote bullshit and called you on names, making a total ass out of myself.

  • @FrozenBlaze

I do like the clios. Something nice about them. Would love a run in a Clio 200 which you might know can keep up with a Focus RS - Personally think that's incredible.

As for the comments mad earlier I have 10000000%%% respect that you actually said sorry. That's the first time on youtube that's happened haha, so don't worry man we'll forget all about it :)

  • Here in Scotland there is a ridiculous amount of Hondas with big exhausts etc. They all sound like shit and the owners are clearly compensating for something...

  • kkk up in here? racist

  • What most people don't understand is that modifying a car is not about the finished product, it is about the build, about the way there. That is why it is more appealing to start with a cheap car such as the citroen and build it yourself.

I have done it with a 300zx and a Rx7 and yes, for the money I spent I could have bought a newer car, but there is no soul or passion in that. You will never fall in love with a car that you just buy.

  • @Lukeisonutube amen to that. Most new cars have no soul. Plus, the journey is half the fun in a build, and you'll always know more about a car that you built yourself rather than one you bought. My 1987 RX-7 is far from stock now (20B swap) and making stuff for it is awesome

  • I can understand modifying a car properly (like Brabus, Abath, AMG etc) to makes different and unique cars for the customer.

But all kids do is bolt on £10 body kits that *almost* fit, an induction kit, a paint job from 20 random spray cans and a huge stereo that only ever plays stupid R&B songs from *Dave down the street*. Then they feel the need to drive like morons and get 6 points but always blame everyone else.

Just ditch the Clio, save your money and buy an Evo or S2000 or something.

  • most comments here shows your getting old lol

  • does anyone here speak english? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • Here in Malaysia, it's those hopeless protons and peroduas.

  • 3:53 Look at the unwanted woman and the crazy fat guy XD.

  • i love the way everyone talking about what they'd do to the c2 wouldn't have a clue actually how to do it

  • @HeroApprentice that is half the fun in moddifieng cars, not always knowing how to do it, and then figuring it out. gives a wonderful feeling.

  • LOL i dont get it thats not cruising cruising is driving down the highway with other mates in their cars not this =-S

  • Here in America, it's not Citroens.. It's those shitty Hondas

  • @71johnf god i hate those hondas. oversized mufflers sound like shit, just man up and get a muscle car instead of spending the same amount on a fucking civic

  • @mobius0311 Hmmmm it would seem to me that was a Citroen like it said in the show, NOT a honda. But still they are shit and I do agree that they should all just these gay ass little french cars crushed and put £20,000 into a charger or a mustang!. The classic ones of course!!

  • @americadan01 i own the 2011 'stang. 300bhp stock. put 25,000 USD in that car? twin turbo, racing spoiler, pirelli summer tires, fine-tune suspension and you'd have a 450+hp performance machine. then again if i had another 25k to spend i'd get the 2012 BOSS 302

  • @toomywins yeah some eastern european...

  • all of those people are ricers

  • No fucking citroens were ever street heros, it was only really the saxo vts and vtr because they looked good and were fast as they were light

  • i don't get the lavatory joke

  • @tcejer im guessing gloryholes

  • All these people at Ace-Cafe are talking rubbish.

    Put a V8 in a C2.... Nearly impossible....

Put the engine at the back and make it 4WD.

Even Citroen would have a hard time doing these stuff

  • @Northiee Alreafy been done, v6 engine out of a 406 in the back and made RWD - not quite as extreme but it's close enough to what was suggested. What sometimes happens in the modifying scene is that someone does something daft like that just to prove a point, for example there's a Ford KA with a Cosworth engine and 4wd system which was done because someone said it was impossible - due to the size and weight of the base car it's one of the fastest Cosworth engined Fords around.

  • just buy a renault megane, they already look epic you just have to put a powerful engine in it and BAM!!!

  • @1gazary u cant make shit shine, but u can make sprinkle it with glitter lool

  • So this is what British ricers look like...

  • @GeneralMazaki AKA Chavs

    Most annoying people here.

  • So a cheap saxo With 50,000 grand spent on it, THATS AS MUCH AS A NEW NISSAN GTR!

  • @Concordemoment It's all about the insurance.

  • @Concordemoment but its still not you "personal" car. Some people may prefer just a Nissan GTR, but some, like myself, rather spend the money on a car I want. Make it personalized. Besides, it's fun to work on a car.

  • @Zolika4 but on a citroen?? i'd understand if it's a mustang or lancer or something with some racing heritage but a boxcar? u look and sound stupid driving that thing around. every time i see a civic with a huge muffler in the back, it makes me laugh

  • @mobius0311 mustang?(i believe it rubush, sure you get cheap horse power and looks but that's it) the reasons are pretty much explaned in the video, the car is cheap, fast(yes it is because it is weighs near to nothing plus it has one of the best chassis in it class), easy to tune and most importantly cheap to insure for young driver. you can try and check the ensurance price in the UK for 19yo for a lancer.

  • @InitialDAmine im ignorant on the insurance rates in europe as i am in the states, but u can see by clarkson's face that he thinks its a joke. as for the mustang being horsepower and looks, isn't that most of what ppl want? i own the 2011 mustang w/ GT tuned suspension and 300 horses, so power, looks, AND being able to handle corners...start out w/ a citroen, put 20k into it, and its still a shit car that will get no respect, even if u can go fast...sounding like a waterpipe gurgling

  • @toomywins Loads of white people... it's just that they're not stupid enough to spend 30 thousand on a stupis looking car that will have a resell value of about 8 thousand.

  • citroen saxo ftw best citroen to do up :P

  • That's like a RICER meetup.

  • wasn't the CivicType-R the most popular hot hatch? Those Citroen are dorky. I mean I'm in Canada where we have mroe powerful cars

  • modifying a car is fun and have a cool looking one like my turbo RSX-S

  • it was the wheels that made the saxo ,wheels will make or brake a car

  • An ASTRA! with a SIX GRAND STEREO IN IT!!!!

  • @ 2:26 the guy noticed big tits

  • I'm 15, and one of my friends told me in school today that a Peugeot 306 with a bodykit and some alloy wheels looks better than a 1961 Jaguar E-Type series 1. Who in the name of god looks at a woman's car for going to the shops with a few modifications, and thinks it's more a woman pleaser than one of the best looking cars ever made? I hope my generation doesn't take any further steps downwards in the evolutionary chain!

  • @lucasgomersall If you're gonna pick a Peugeot, at least pick a decent one like a 205 GTi (preferably 1.9 engine version). 306's are one of the dullest cars ever made

  • What's with all the mohamad gasmir Abdul dwengoes?..lol

  • @TheVdub1988 LMAO! I know right?

  • @TheVdub1988

hahaha so true!! And Clarkson yelling funny "does anybody here speak english!?" Btway nice name kind of similar to mine lol Vdub for life!

  • so pretty much all of those cars are all show and no go

  • 3:47 DJ Pauly!!!

  • Lol even that L200 van looks better than all of the cars there.

  • Built not bought!

  • Why all the hate? What is wrong with modding out cars? Supercharging and turbocharging a car isn't rocket science. I am sure they can do that. V8 transplant or moving the engine to the back would be tougher, but thats what its all about! Finding something that hasn't been done, and then doing it. Trial and error.

  • stupid pakis talking about stuff they have no clue about. "put a v8 in it", only in their dreams would they have enough money or even skill to try and do that. people like that who go to halfords and buy a spoiler and some wheels give the rest of us who like to modify cars sensibly a bad name.

  • @iceemann55 Trolling

  • Bless them all, maybe one day they shall grow up, get a girlfriend and maybe even move out of the tower block!

They are quite obviously really hard people though, you can tell this because they can't talk properly. Every word begins with "naa" and ends with "innit" or "ennit." Sorry but this isn't a word, its a noise, are you civilised?

  • SAXO RULEZ!!!!

  • I don't know about you guys but I've never seen a modified C2.

  • @mungabba LOL good point

  • @mungabba Not on the roads but I saw a few wacky ones in Max Power and the like the first 3 or 4 years they were out, it was popular for a while but most still do Corsa's and Civic's, or a bit more upmarket Scooby's, VXR's, Focus RS, Evo's and the like.

  • Haha, £21K on a shit-box Shitroen! Twats.

  • For 22k you could have a M3 or AMG, not a f#%kin Citroen plastic shit. You might even have a girlfriend.

  • @andyharg2 the all point off spending the money on citroen its cheap and you can customised the car towards your own tastes

  • It makes me sad that there is soon going to be more foreign people in britian than english people

  • @dahorn100011

    imagine how the aborigines feel.

their country has been taken over by english people.

  • @dahorn100011 there were already forgien people in Britain before like the Romes and Saxons

  • Anybody know the song at 3:07?

  • @mqasim7866 wat. We have plenty of Citroëns open them there eyes matey

  • these are the civics of u.k!

  • cruising is something I thought was cool when i was 14 and The Fast and The Furious just came out

  • Look at London all full of non English speaking foreigners, way to go UK!

    Bobbie

  • @BobbieandSteveDooley Yeah, and I bet the Native Americans feel exactly the same as we do right now!

  • @BobbieandSteveDooley

you mean like the native americans did?

    haha fucking idiot

  • i love my saxo ;) haha.

  • England is full of ricers. . . .

  • @CaptanCron Not Ricers. Chavs. Ricers is an American thing.

  • @RedRocket1987 The ricer is the car, not the person. RICE = Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements. This means that a car with engine or suspension/brake modifications etc that actually affect performance is not a ricer.

  • @pegleg1992 Yes I know that mate. what I'm saying is in the UK we have these people called Chavs and when we see people driving cosmetically enhanced cars (usually citroen saxos or small hatchbacks) we call them Chavs!

  • @RedRocket1987 Well maybe but I was just hoping to clear up the small confusion. By the way I live in Brum and I see more than my fair share of Chavs.

  • "Flexing" and what?

  • Lolol, when someone spends lots of money on a crap car, it makes you wonder..why not just buy A GOOD CAR?!

  • @VIRlyIV wheres the fun in that?

  • @VIRlyIV Don't get me wrong i would buy a good car, but the reason people do it is they don't just have £20,000 to spare, they modify when they have the money. It takes time.

  • @VIRlyIV Because that's the fun about it; Knowing that you're gonna bring it back up to top spec, make it faster, look better (that's opinionated obviously), and so on.

  • @VIRlyIV It's all about being built not bought, the pride in doing it yourself over a period of time, not just going to a garage and paying thousands and having nothing to be proud of except, 'oo i have money!'

and if by shit car, you mean a saxo, you clearly aint seen VTS turbo/nos'd put up againt brand new cars with bigger engines, okay so the ride may not be as good, but damn our power to weight ratio will leave them in the dust. but you cant compare it to like a nissan gtr or what not

  • @rokshoxred It's not about how fast you are, chum.

  • @VIRlyIV 40 or 50 grand-why dont they buy a better car and tune it less?

the result would be similiar in performance and better looking.

  • @VIRlyIV because you can't get insurance

  • @VIRlyIV cuz u have to spend even more money afterwards to make the good car better :D the point of doing it is that a tuned up fiat punto is a lot more unique than a standard bmw 3 series and the same price.

  • THAT CRUISE HAD TO BE IN BRADFORD OR BIRMINGHAM!

  • lol they all thick

  • saxxxxxxxxxxxxooooooo i got one :D i love it

  • lol y r they all indian??

  • @ihatehistory they are not... they are probably even pakistani and bangladeshi and persian and arabic... you know.... international.....

  • @lobster9207 persia isnt a country anymore.. it never was actually

  • @eastyg yea it was.... its name was changed to iran in the the 20th century

  • 3:58 WTF

  • @davethorn123 agree with everything you said except the trolley bit, i got a saxo vtr, not stock but not seriously modded either, great little car for when your a teenager, im only 15 atm so i probs will end up modding it further

  • Notice how Clarkson is about a foot taller than anyone else.

  • @AshtonPhoto thats coz there all 17 and just passed there driving test lol.

  • ricers.

  • @09204418448 : definitely...ricers...

  • 10 years ago cruising here in the U.S. was still awesome. Fuckloads of muscle cars as far as the eye could see. Tire smoke, drag racing, donuts, all the fun. Then the imports showed up and started passing people on the shoulder at 70 and the gang members beating people up in parkings lots and it all went to hell.

  • Hahahhaah "Oooooh look at that it's a Mitsubishi L200 Van......"

  • I had a Clio when I was 17 till 19, that I started modifying, never got as far as this lot. The reason they buy 'shitty' cars is that when you are that age insurance is so high. So you buy a car that is not that fast and make it look fast, it's all about making yourself stand out. I've now got a BMW and know that it's more value for money than modifying a cheap car. But when I was 17 I couldn't afford the insurance on a bimmer. I don't regret doing it.

  • It's so funny, because I would never dream of making my 106 look as completely fucking hideous as any of that lot. Why do all that shit to a car that was educated through rallying? ye m8 ma bodykits lowa dan a fag pakit - my car's standard, and i bet I could have you on the road and in the country BLUD. cos myn was designed by perjow, init.

  • Silly little boys in there chav-rods,turning shite little shopping trolleys into pointless piles of crap, and then playing the worst music known to man through a fuckin PA system selotaped into the boot,

They really dont know how stupid they look, anyway, rant over im off to play in my gp4 mk1 escort

  • Those are called ricers, and they suck

  • Anyone first song of the video?

  • saxo's are shit!!!!!!!!! every french car is shit!

  • @ArRaN2k9 Yes the car is shit, yes it's made by incompetent French people BUT until you've owned one you will not understand why they are so great...

  • this reminds me of the honda crx

  • anyone know the song at 1:36

  • This video portrays car enthusiasm in the wrong way to me, Me and my mates are 19 and I would never do any of this lol, I appreciate modifying cars but never this tacky just seems like young driver stereotyping to me...

  • @easyt191

    Agreed.

  • Comment removed

  • I like citroen ;]

  • i actually liked the c2 and saxo, before i've seen they were ricer magnets.

now they are disgusting like civics

  • 0:29 - Pimp my cabbie...XD

  • i have a saxo and i fuckin love it!!!

  • @SiKay991 Same ! :)

  • I thought he meant showing off too, like flexing your muscles. And what the hell are ricers?

  • @xboxisdabest When people try to modify their cars but put more money into looks than actual performance and usually fail miserable like, crappy paintjobs, over-sized wings on FWD cars, cutting springs so your car is lower but the ride sucks, having an oversized bodykit on your car, etc., etc.

  • @xboxisdabest ricer is a american work for when you see cars that has been done up well attempted to be modifide but failed sorta thing... they call em ricers lol

  • @ExtraSilver nah man ricer is the name given to jap modified cars. they call japs riceboys

  • @watanabehefuml The term is now more general and used for all people who modify their cars with out any taste. Mostly the things zeroxstrife250 mentioned. Absurd body kits, "Sweet Wings", unpainted carbon fiber, and putting twice the money you paid for a car into it... without actually improving the handling or speed.

Also we would just call them a ricer.

    From Americanland.

  • @TooAbsurd that would mean most americans are ricers. agreed?

  • @watanabehefuml No, most Americans leave their cars completely stock and never modify anything.

  • @TooAbsurd lol

  • @TooAbsurd because there too fat to lift up the bonnet haha

  • honda civic type r, is definately better than the c2 vtr

  • flexing is where you play your subwoofers so loud that the windows start flexing and warping
