Hey American friends at 3:16 I saw what looks like a silver Mondeo type car that's what we call it in the UK I'm guessing it's a Taurus in the US can anyone confirm? there is actually a blue and silver one parked together. and it looks to me like the Americans are doing a good job putting them together, it's nice to see the Americans breaking away from gas guzzling showboats but then I guess with gas at nearly $4 a gallon they aren't so attractive anymore.

@rugbydazz nope, those are just the back ends of the Focus sedan. We get the Fusion here in the US, which is being redesigned and merged with the Mondeo platform for the One Ford design plans. It's due to release here in the US this summer/early fall. All four-cylinder (1 regular gas, 2 turbocharged engines and 2 hybrids) and no V6 options (never had a diesel option).

@NinjaDecimator How long have you had the fusion in the US? and has it been a success? without doubt it has been Fords least success here in the UK the younger audience shy away from it and say it is unattractive, they say it looks like a Fiesta on stilts, and how come you don't have Diesel options? they really are popular here and the engines are really strong

@rugbydazz not really sure why we don't have any diesel models here. Seem the opposite here state-side, being a hit with the younger and mid-age crowds. It's one of the best selling vehicles on the road here.

@NinjaDecimator Ok I just saw the US Fusion it's nothing like the one we have here what you call a Fusion is a Mondeo here I have a 2008 model 2.0 litre turbi diesel 130ps it's done a 104,000 miles and is still as solid as a rock I love it.

@rugbydazz Fusion has been here since '06. It's been a huge hit here state-side. It got an updated design in '10 to it's current look today and added on the hybrid as well revamping the engine line-up (previously just 2.3L and 3.0L, now 2.5L and still 3.0L with better fuel econ and my HP). the 2013MY is when the Fusion and Mondeo will combine and both of us will have them :) I have an '09 Fusion with the 2.3L and love it. Hittin on average 30-33mpg on the hwy and got about 63,000 miles.

@NinjaDecimator I think it's crazy the US doesn't have the Diesel models my 2.0 turbo diesel gets 48mph on the highway, your travel distances are far greater, say washington DC to New York which is a frequently travelled route, and surley the Diesel engine would be a benefit, I wonder if they feel the Americans would be put off by the noise level as it is louder even though it has drastically improved over the years.

@momo1mark I don't think it's quite American remember we have had this car in Europe for quite while and it was introduced to Amercia from Europe on the European styling emphasis it was a suck it and see project to see if Americans would take it up. I think Ford US are pleased with their decision

I own a 2011 Kia Sorento EX V6 since September 2010. After 2 recalls, 3 electrical problems, Riding to hard, and the fact that it has become to big of a car for what i need I decided to trade it in for a 2012 Focus Titanium Sedan in black with black/red interior and Handling package. It will have every option except for navigation which I don't need. As soon as I get it I will be replacing the summer tire for all season tires.

@Passengertrains4ever US car industry? My friend, this is GERMAN car industry. US has absolutely nothing to do with this car. It was fully developed, engineered and built in Koln (germany). People who worked on the car are young engineers from germany and belgium. The only thing US has to do with this focus is that they receive parts from germany, and just put the cars together for their market. Nothing to be proud about in US car industry, since you dont actually build any good cars.

I don't think they would be dumb enough to send their people over here to the U.S just to build cars when we have our own plants and own people capable of doing it here. It is an American car, An American company.

I've heard on many videos that car reviewers from america claim that car as their own, and thats annoying, since real makers of the car dont get credit. American car manufacturers do that quite often. Look at buick for example. They took Opel Insignia, and rebadged it as Buick Regal. Now they sell as THEIR NEW MODEL, and never say its not actually theirs, and it been sold for 3 years already.

How would you feel if you worked at Ford in america, spend millions and millions of dollars, and years of development on a car, and then nobody would give you credit, or even worse, claim that THEY'VE built the car. @Passengertrains4ever In other worlds, this car is only assembled in USA. And its clear to anyone with any knowledge about cars that this is a typical european Ford. Its looks just like any other Ford made by european headquarters, and it looks NOTHING like any Ford made by american headquarters.

With gas prices that will most likely soar well over $4.15/gallon very soon. Plus the fact that the 2012 Ford Focus is an Amazing car !! The 2012 Ford Focus, is going to sell like it's No tomorrow !!! The timing of this car could not have been better !!!
