its just a beetle. The amount of insect species is mind boggling. Beetles have some of the most ingenious wing mechanisms. Their wings actually fold into armor plated protective appendages. If these things were as big as tanks nothing would be able to destroy them.
Yep...june bug. They're everywhere here in southeast texas in the summer. I'm not big on touching bugs, but I have no problem picking them up. They're harmless. They just fly because they are attracted to the lights in your house when you leave the doors or windows open.
@jojorandomsox OK... you said you have one in your room on your roof which made me think your room is on your roof. then you said your room isnt on your roof. so thanks for answering
That is definitely not a June bug. June bugs were everywhere in the Midwest. Once I moved to each coast (NJ & WA) I stopped seeing them. June bugs are like flying black rocks. While bike riding or out for a walk at dusk, it wasnt uncommon to find a June bug stuck to my neck or in my hair. The bug you found looks like a regular ol' beetle.
thats not a june bug...june bugs are green....its just a regular bettle that buzzes....only reason why it buzzes is bc its their way of tryin to protect themselves....lol where are yall from???? cause from your lil story up there you seem to be from a city or somethin....lol no offense

Are you kidding me? In a cup it's not scary but while I was walking home from a party with a friend it hit me while flying right in the face!!! I shat bricks...
@sarah3021 Whether you're a vegetarian or not is irrelevant. You wanted to kill something because you thought it looked scary...I woukld also point out that I wasn't trying to be aggressive, but some of the comments I've seen are just needlessly cruel.
