What got me about the show, other than Bill Bixby performing his own magic, was the occasional guest appearences of Mark Wilson, who hosted his own saturday-morning magic show called "Alakazam!" back in the early 60's. Shows you how old I am.
@spider9137 yea, i've heard things like that as well. apparently, bixby really was doing a lot of magic tricks in the show, instead of relying on someone to make it seem as if bixby was doing it. thus, he was a magician and an actor simultaneously.
@spider9137 oh, you must have meant that bixby did magic tricks between takes of the incredible hulk. yea, i can believe that./////when i first read your comment, i thought you meant bixby did magic tricks between takes of the magician. in truth, he likely did it between takes of BOTH shows.
I had become interested in magic about a year before this series began. Once I found out that Mark Wilson was going to be Bill Bixby's instructor in magic AND that Bill was going to do all of his own illusions, I was hooked -- even BEFORE I saw the pilot movie.
I must confess, I rather liked the FIRST format, where he traveled around the world in his specially equipped plane, (Which had a garage for the 'Vette in the cargo hold.) But I continued to watch it when it shifted to the Magic Castle.
I never really noticed this opening until Sci-Fi Channel ran the series. The original opening stuck with me for some time because I thought it looked a lot like the Partridge Family intro.
"the persuaders" ! One of my favorite ! John Barry came to france couple months ago and made a concert ! It was magic ! The orchestra performed "the persuaders" ! A terrific memory !

This was a very entertaining show. It was on when I was in high school.

i don't recall ever watching this show. i wonder whether bixby ever used his magic to transform himself into something big and green and angry.

@coventrygardens
Kenneth Johnson, executive producer of THE INCREDIBLE HULK, said Bixby would entertain cast and crew between takes with card tricks.

Excellent intro! I posted an entire "The Magician" episode in 5 parts, "Nightmare in Steel". I hope you enjoy it.
