@thespacialone Terror goes both ways. Terrorism is defined by the intentional targeting of civilians. When one country admits that there will be "collateral damage" then they affirm that they are intentionally targeting civilians, as long as they confirm that their attacks will cause said casualties. Unless there are never civilian casualties, then there will always be a certain amount of terror caused, even if the countries intent is to kill military targets. TY btw.

I went to Israel 10 years ago. I was about 5 miles from Gaza I think. Talking about weird weapons, does anyone know what the deal with the sonic boom things is? I only felt one in the 2 months I was there, but it was WEIRD. Kind of like really strong thunder, but more of a shock wave than a noise it seemed. God knows what it must have been like for the people in Gaza - I'm pretty sure that's where it emanated from.

"Force Projection" is a fancy term for terrorism (with or without killing civilians) pretty much because its meant to scare and terrorise. @thespacialone Terror goes both ways. Terrorism is defined by the intentional targeting of civilians. When one country admits that there will be "collateral damage" then they affirm that they are intentionally targeting civilians, as long as they confirm that their attacks will cause said casualties. Unless there are never civilian casualties, then there will always be a certain amount of terror caused, even if the countries intent is to kill military targets. TY btw.

@SuperFifthwheel I agree. If Israeli intentions were honourable, I believe much of the collateral damage (and I'm not even sure much of the carnage can be considered collateral) could be avoided. In the West TPTB seem to have modelled their homeland security policies on the Israeli experience, which requires an omnipresent and imminent terrorist threat to justify its primary foreign aid funding. Withdraw the funding and they have to start putting their house in order.

@thespacialone part 2: as for the Arab and persian nations, their fault is not with race of the Jews, but with its religions. They only place a tax on those Jews that practice Judaism, so if a jew converted to Islam he would enjoy the same benefits to the country as any other. The pogroms from arabic countries had nothing to do with racist veiws of the Jews, but in fact had to do primarily of the religion tainting the countries religious beliefs. Most Jews believe it is race when it is not.

You and I probably would both agree that "jew" means one that practices Judaism. If you research the definition of "proportionaliy" in the doctrine of self defence at law, you will see that the proportionality referred to is the damage that COULD HAVE BEEN INFLICTED, had the defensive steps not been taken. It is a sufficient defence at law (and morally) that the rockets could have inflicted many more fatalities on Israeli citizens, had the "Palestinians" been better shots.
