  • OMG Step Off was f**king funky song. Popped into my head 2 weeks ago and had to search out who it was. Melle mel from the infamous Furious 5! I love it! It's like a jungle sometimes...Broken glass, everywhere people pissing on the stage you know they just don;t care...!

  • dmc on tha mix, still one of the best rappers out there...melle mel

  • Melle is my favorite old skool rapper! 'Step Off' in my head 25 years later!

  • Just like Elvis, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder,John Lennon and very FEW others, the second Melle Mel opens his mouth you know EXACTLY who it is!! I wonder if he had any idea,in the 80's,just how many people he would go on to influence...:) FAN FOR LIFE

  • this is a true old skool new york jam.

  • MELLE MEL - Step off -- Rap is the Game that Melle Mel Control (In the early 80s)! great Flow, best Lyrics but terrible Cloth & Look

  • Nice Audio and Video production!

  • think Sanny X from dmc did this classic megamix

  • when this shit came out it was as hot as it gets. today's rappers have not even come close to this as far as impact on even on the skinniest white boy in Budapest.

  • first time I heard this was when DJ Chuck Chill Out play it on Kiss FM when he was on from 11:00 PM to 2:00AM back to back with Red Alert !

Red sucked. Chuck Chill Out, Mr. Magic and Marley Marl and Latin Rascles rocked hip hop radio ! .

  • MELLIE MEL! 2nd only to Grandmaster Flash!!

  • @mrstirrat1973

    why did flash rap ?

  • @mrstirrat1973 - Melle Mel was the rapper for Grandmaster Flash. Flash was the DJ. Songs like "The Message" are credited to Flash, but it's really Melle Mel. In fact, Flash isn't on The Message at all.

  • music 3:59 @ 4:37 ???????

  • @marsobh It's Nasty

  • I remember when Chuck Chill Out played this for the first time ! This track is forever memorized in my head.

  • nowadays hip hop will never touch what was established in this golden era. say after the mid 90's real hip hop was replaced by pop alike shit.

  • Best Rapper Ever

  • got this on 12" classic

  • God I love the early 80's

  • Top Rapper of all time

  • Probably. Rappers don't bother wrapping their words around the music any more. I thought that was the point originally.

  • Money is now the main objective.

  • This is a tight ass mix!! "step off" lyrics are viscious!

  • good idea but sounds shit

  • dont think hes ever been given full credit for what hes achieved.
