WHEW! This was just an unforgetable episode of Pyramid here. Just as exciting as Billy Crystal's record win in the winner's circle; to have a tie breaker like that and than play an intense round with money that is debateable over whether or not it should have been given is super unique. Sandy and Nipsey are over-par players of this game. The players were amazing as I have noted several times in case you didn't know. I'll give cut it short and say 5 stars.
So, this could something, 1981 would be the last year for Bob Stewart to get involved with straddling, so when Pyramid moved to Studio 33 permanently, the background colors would be red for the main game and blue throughout the Winner's Circle end games but beginning with the April 23, 1984 episode, the red background came into play during the Winner's Circle playings I think.
I've always been fascinated by retro commercials (primarily 1970s-1990s), including promotional cards, so seeing those cards at the ends of game shows was one of my favorite parts of watching GSN as a child.
Not only that, but hearing the masters like Johnny O and Gene Wood 'do their thing' was just as great - the announcers did more than introduce the shows and celebrities! Besides that, you could hear the audience clap to the themes on some of the shows while the tags were read which made it even more fun!
Watching this episode makes me glad that they changed the tiebreaker rules when the show permanently moved to L.A. in 1982. What a difference 4 years makes between 1978 and 1982.
In the tie-breaker changes, they would now clear the scores, and the team who created the tie would go first. Then, depending on how many seconds were left on the clock, the other team had a certain amount of time to beat the other team to go to the WC.
The new tie-breaker round changed a little, too. Originally, they would go to a commercial, then do a tiebreaker, but that was changed to going immediately to it. Later a show offered a car (later a $5,000 bonus) for breaking the tie.
@vnisanian2001 The Solari panel scoreboards in the NYC version of the Pyramid couldn't immediately go to zero whereas the vane display scoreboards during the LA years could which explains why the score can reach up to 99 if that's possible.
I wish those Glad stand-up storage bags were still around.

Bob Clayton hosted the original version of "Concentration", taking over for the show's original host Hugh Downs

Uh, there is nothing left to a show after the credits, therefore, there is no part 6.

Love them departing contestant tags, and hearing the late Bob Clayton do them - damn shame that GSN doesn't like them anymore!

Great one as I think that Nipsey is one of the best game shows players, along there with Betty White!
