  • wow!

  • that was sad -.- 5*

  • everything change after that hurnicane came...

  • hey

what music is playing? i really like it :-)

  • Hey, thanks! I did the music. It's a song I wrote called, "Walk With Me." I was so ill after the hurricane (and four months after when we shot stills for our webpage in Bolivar) that I couldn't sing right. So, I did the main melody with guitar fairly dry, then laid the second lead as an improv.

Glad you liked it. Once we're finished with the studio construction, we hope to do more music and videos.

    Peace,

    David

  • I didn't realize how much damage Ike caused. Just wondering, what was the death toll from hurricane Ike?

  • I don't have those figured handy. The last time I checked, I remember no one was totally sure because of people who were missing.

The Texaco finally got their sign replaced, all this time after. It looks much better now.

  • wow that's insane.

  • Everything about your intro is just right. That more hard rock than country in country rock feel, ah, it's my favorite type of music to experience. You wrote such a dark driving anthem David. You've got as many stars as I can give you. * * * * * :)

  • Oh wow... I hope the people had made it safely out there.... thanks for sharing that and I shall pray for you and the people.

  • Thanks. Prayers are good. We are finally supposed to get our roof fixed so the rain won't pour in. It will happen Easter weekend if all goes well.

We were here during the whole thing, including the tornado that touched down right by the house. It was pretty scary. Glad it's over. I also weathered Alicia in the '80s. Very scary; lost our house in that one.

    Peace,

    David

  • Sorry !

    Thank you

  • Hey, thanks for the comment. I was driving down the road during shooting, wondering where we were going to get gas and how we were going to light the house in the dark, when I realized that some people in other countries live that way every day.

I'm happy to have power again and will be glad to have the roof finally fixed soon. Sorry that some in this area and many in other countries aren't so fortunate.

  • Well done! Thanx for sharing that!

  • Thank you for your kind comment. The trip to Bayou Vista took me out for a couple weeks of illness because of everything the storm stirred up. I went to Bolivar peninsula in January; it's totally destroyed. I got sick again and was out a couple of weeks. Still lots of recovery to be done.

  • This is a beautifully put together video. Nature's power is horrifying and astounding all at the same time...

  • Thanks. For me, the most terrifying was sitting on the couch, hearing a loud bang, and having the couch jump a couple inches off the floor. It's a big, solid oack couch and I'm a big, solid guy. Evidently, a tornado touched down next to us.

  • dude that's a bad ass video....i was in the lake jackson/ clute area for the whole storm.........

  • Thanks. I hope you and your family came through it okay.

  • thanks yeah we did well....my dad's one of the largest general contractors in the area....though none of our property was damaged that's the reason we stayed back.....was to be here to help immediately afterward....

  • It's a shame how so many people are being gouged now on prices for repairs. I hope you guys are able to help by keeping prices low. Roof repairs went from $165 a square last August to $250 a square right after the hurricane.

Stores like Home Depot are charging way too much for materials now, too, IMHO.

It doesn't seem the government is doing anything to stop this price gouging. Sad.

  • I do want to say "Thanks" for you guys being there. It was a real mess down in your area and farther south, far worse that what we experienced and caught on video.

    Peace,

    David

  • wow, probably for me one of the most shocking things was the gas station destroyed.

Dave thanks for posting this, to never forget that we are just small beings in the hands of mother nature.

  • I posted a reply but it didn't show up. The first gas station is about 4 miles from my house. The second one is about two miles away. The boat in the yard and the destroyed mobile homes are on my road.

    We are safe.

    We are alive.

    God is merciful.

Thanks for the nice words. You are correct.

    Peace,

    David

  • Good stuff, my friend... ;)

  • Awesome! Thanks, Geoff. I really appreciate your vote of support. Hope things are going wonderfully for you at NBC. I appreciate your talent both on and off camera and really enjoy our quality friendship.

    Peace,

    David
