Williams also had to break 2 tackles AND regain his balance and accelerate again while Howard,after getting blocked(in his defense) was running full speed by then.....Howard wouldn't have even been on the screen if Williams didn't have to break those tackles.Both are fast enough to play in the league,that's all that matters...right?

40 yd dash times are overrated folks...the ol term football speed comes to mind along with agility and vision.If D. Will didn't have either of those,he would've gotten caught.

thats part of it but there are three linebackers...howard goes to his spot, the middle LB follows howard basically in the same hole and that leaves the outside backer to fill in that huge whole created by the end...it was the whole front seven's fault...

and i agree with the people who say DW got spun around cuz he did...if you notice he was barely about to cross the first down marker when he spun around...that gave howard a head start since DW had to regain his full momentum...

bullshit! he wasn't 'catching' him!!! williams saw the block on his right rear and had it in cruise....notice when he gets to the 25yrd line, he hears Howard and kicks in the afterburners....Howard didn't trip, he dove.....besides....RB's pads weigh a good 3-5 lbs less....howard fast...definitely....faster than williams....funny, but not even close!

What block on his right rear? He has eyes in the back of his head now? He wasn't on cruise, cause he wasn't even all the way through the secondary yet. He was bobbing and weaving because that's what you do when somebody is faster than you, force them to change direction out of reaction and they lose speed. Also, you're argument about the pads supports my argument that Howard is heavier and has heavier pads and still was running to catch him. It was close. Williams ran a 4.55 at the combine

@Newlopw3 I was wrong, he didn't run at the combine. The Pro Day time is unofficial because it was timed by hand. That's why the only Official time is the combine time because it's electronic timed.  That's why he didn't run at the combine because that isn't disputable. It depends who was timing him at his Pro Day because Sports Illustrated timed him at 4.55s and ESPN got him at 4.47s and Mike Mayock had him at 4.50s. They were all at his Pro Day and they got different times...

Actually, Thomas Howard ran a 4.35 at the combine, dude is a freaking beast, when we selected in him in the 2nd rd, the stupid scouts said we made a mistake, he"s hands down top 5 olb in the league but gets no love cause he plays for the raiders, if we blitz him every down like a demarcus ware or shawne merriman, he will be leading the league in sacks

You can't compare Howard to Ware because they are 2 different types of 'backers. Merriman and Ware are rush-linebackers and Howard is a WILL in a 4-3. Totally different positions and Howard is decent rushing the QB but not great, he also struggles at the point of attack at times. I think he will get better, but he would struggle playing Rush 'backer. Also, no, look up his times. He ran OFFICIALLY 4.41 and 4.47 at the combine. Not 4.35. Still fast though!!!
