Does any know what the beef was between J.Holliday & S.L. Ralph for them not to have spoken to each other since the ending of DreamGirls?? J.Holliday made it clear that she and Loretta remained in touch and still do after DreamGirls, but she never mentioned about S.L.Ralph other than they haven't spoken to each in 13 after Divas Simply Singing back in the day. @Karnomiyao Do You have the full play of this clipping?
The real "original Dreamgirls" The Supremes never received acknowledgment much less royalties for this barely disguised rip off of there life story. Keep that in mind. How would you like it if someone came along and made a fortune and a career out of your life but everyone pretended you had nothing to do with it?

lee ralph played deena in the original play, she was moesha's step-mom on the tv show, and devine played lorelle, devine was the cop in the movies urban legend, and was also in waiting to exhale.

So much better than the movie with Beyonce, Anika Noni Rose and Jennifer Hudson. The play was so much better. All the original cast should of made cameos in the movie. No. That's the funny thing. I had the soundtrack on cassette. It was the first show music I ever fell in love with. I found a bootleg VHS of the musical 4years ago and that's the first time I saw it, but by then I already knew the story and songs inside and out.
This a awesome moment. I think this is the second time these three appeared on the same stage since Dreamgirls. The first time was in the late 90's on the Vibe show with Sinbad hosting.
No I don't. I remember Sheryl Lee was interviewing Sinbad, then Jennifer performed I Am Telling You I'm Not Going. She joined Sheryl Lee and Sinbad on the couch. I recall Jennifer telling Sinbad that she haven't seen the cast of Dreamgirls since the ending of Dreamgirls. Loretta then made a surprise appearance, but they didn't perform together.
A reunion is not entirely impossible. Sheryl sounds amazing, and Loretta's soprano is still going strong, and miss Holliday... never changed. True, they're a little older, but what a reunion it would be.

They didn't really get mad at each other, they just didn't bother to keep in touch, mostly because Jennifer Holliday was going through a major depression following her depart from the show.
Loretta and Sheryl got back in touch after awhile, but it's taken Jennifer all these years to appear with her orignal co-stars. She had alot of soul searching to do, and just never reached out to them after the show was done.
I cant even begin to think about how these beautiful women felt after coming together after all this time, singing their last song. as weird as this sounds the first footage i liked better and was more real b/c in the real play it was supposed to be a reunion just like in the first clip. but in the show they had to act like they havn't seen each other in a 6 years when it really was just a few minutes backstage hahah =] but still beautifull!!

yes it is billople and i can tell u how flo(effie) was once the lead singer of the Primettes(the dreamettes)and they actually started at 18 in Detroitand when they met Berry Gordie(Curtis), and Flo and berry did go out before he went out with Diana(Deena)but diana just didn't start out having the lead all of them took turns eading just like the song dreamgirls and pretty soon the spotlight jus focused on Diana just like in the show ...the continuatiion is above look above
continuation... and just as diana got the spotlight it pushed Flo out the spotlight and Flo had got upset espeacially when Berry Gave Diana Flo's only solo People and that pissed her off into her start to her drinking problem which is not in the show but the part where he kicks her out and how diana became a diva to everybody was true and how they replaced her right after the named the group Diana Ross and the supremes(which in the show they named it Deena Jones and the dreams) if u have anymore
questions feel free to ask on the story and the only thing is not basicaly true is that effie didn't die but flo was just at the start of recreating her music career and had a cd and they actualy did have a reunion with the supremes with Mary wilson and they other girl that wasn't Diana or cindy
