actually this girl is a nun. if u watched the documentary it clearly says she lives at the monastery built for women and she was indoctrinated as a nun.
there is real monks if u actually look for them & stop thinking u already know everything.
@yulaw3 I've never said that I know everything, I was only giving my humble opinion on the matter, that's why my comment begins with "I don't think". I didn't think she was a nun because all the Buddhist nuns that I've seen have shaved heads. I don't have the full documentary which explains my ignorance and the reason I doubted their monk status is because there are only a handful of real monks compared with the number of shaved people with orange clothing practicing shaolin today.
Waaah!!?,....girl at Shao-Lin training??? Hmmm,...if she is a 'Nun', she should 'also' shave her head,....the 'competition wushu outfit makes her look ''out-of-place''! Wonder what ''Shao-Lin'' training 'school' this is with that HUGE 'Hu-Lu' (magic gourd) in front of the gate?
@ChineseOpera8 I don't think she's a nun otherwise she would have to shave and wear nun clothing like you remarked, but you don't need to be a monk or nun to practice shaolin nowadays you know, she's probably just a wushu practitioner who practices shaolin wushu and honestly I don't know which school that is but I doubt that any of those are "real" monks, just because you shave your head, wear orange robes and practice shaolin wushu doesn't mean you're a monk.
