This is BS.. Theres about 10 videos on youtube that show the XO-1 lifting off the road flying and crashing even with the splitter. Go Nitro!

Brandon, good job as usual. You mentioned RPM telemetry... They don't do it optically on the spur like a reciprocating engine, they can sense it electronically in the ESC. So no outboard sensor like you were expecting. Later guys.

@mickvk Thanks. If this system was sensored I suspect they probably would use the hall effect sensors in the motor for RPM. Instead, they do use an RPM sensor right on the spur gear much like a crank position sensor in a car to read RPM. All other data is calculated based on that sensor and parameters set in the traxxas link application(motor rpm, wheel speed).

@rcnightmare I didn't mean hall effect either - I meant like my Castle ICE air ESC does and my Eagletree stuff does by evaluating the pulse cycle in the ESC... But I actually looked it up and I'm SHOCKED to see that an outboard sensor is infact installed. Strikes me as unnecessary... Awright, see you guys next time.

@mickvk It's funny you mention it though because I was doing a little "reverse engineering" for cracking 100mph and the Rx does communicate with the Castle ESC but it is not multiplexed to handle data while driving. This platform is just a springboard for their telemetry system. It's to be used in all their current models, nitro included.

@Battlerobot2 Traxxas doesn't have a metal gear servo yet. Honestly I've never had an issue on my slash 4x4 with that servo but I'm pretty careful with maintaining my saver.

@mollis123456 Yeah splitter has to be first for aero. In a hit plastic splitter is sacrificed and then, hopefully, foam bumper saves as much of the car as it can.
