I saw this series of American Idol on a cable channel here in the UK. Never saw any of the previous series and was hooked on Melinda week after week, she is just a phenomenal performer ... and yes America, you cock up on the result of that series, she soon have won!
she's far more talented than Jordon is. Remember when Simon saw jordin on stage at this years final and had a "oh god no" look on his face? He absolutely didn't want her to beat Melinda. Idol lost the only judge who really knows talent when he hears it, and i do not mean Paula. it was obvious watching this final performance that the voters made a mistake.

It's a fan based system. Whoever has the most votes makes it. But it's the post AI career that matters. So far, Hudson and Daughtry made it huge. Tamyra Gray wrote the AI 3 winning song. What are her other claims to fame post AI? As for London, what has she done since?
I think she didn't win because they were looking for someone younger. More fresh out of the box. At this point I feel that the votes were controlled. She was the best contestant they ever had in that show. She was too good for them. Love you Melinda :)
I really got tired of his beat boxing. It was getting old and most of the time it was out of place. I don't know why America was so impressed with it. I mean they all know Justin Timberlake, not the first time you see a white boy beat boxing.

They get in singers who they like (AI does) and plant them in for the finals (they knew jordin sparks before everything started). they kept sanjayah in long for the entertainment value. the computer voting is bull after hearing how computer phoning stuff works from an Info Tech specialist. what i'm trying to say is: AI is FIXED! just watch the funny auditions or watch the whole season to hear them sing. don't vote.
I was shocked that Melina went home that week, this was a fantastic vocal performance from her and to see her not be atleast in the finale against jordon was sad. But Blake and Jordon are great as well.

Melinda has an amazing voice, a beautiful personality and grace. Taylor Hicks had a bloated ego, wasn't a very good performer and was blessed to have won. They are nothing alike. Whatever Melinda will be, she and God have control over it. Taylor Hicks is on his own.

Talent like Melinda doesn't come around often. She is an amazing talent and it's absolutely ridiculous that she wasn't in the finals. She's better off doing her own type of CD, not getting thrown into some crap pop category. We know who the real winner of Season 6 was and it's going to show when she outsells Blake and Jordin.
Watching this is so depressing because she should have won. Idol will start losing ratings because people who watch this show for the singing (like me) won't be as interested in watching anymore. I think that because Fantasia won last season, that the producers of the show felt that another "black" person winning the show would be redundant, so they let America "think" they voted. So, America needs to be mad at American Idol and it's producers because they have made the decision. Melinda and Lekisha should be in the final two. Not Blake or Jordan.

What is the meaning of the word "idol?" I think Melinda defined it for us loud and clear not only by her A+ performances every week, but her humility, respect, and kindess she bestowed on those she encountered while on the show. I don't understand all the mean things about Blake? He helps Lakisha down the steps on her final performance,kisses his dad, give Melinda flowers (of course I have no idea where they came from. check 1:13 of this video- it only shows her goodheart. She looks back to her past by giving the flowers to her back-up singer. She was once a back-up singer, and now she's making her mark as a lead. Why oh why didn't she win? WORST MISTAKE VOTERS HAVE EVER MADE PERIOD Jordin is great but Melinda is above and beyond everyone else on this season, and most seasons for that matter.

I think everybody has their own opinions, but more importantly all of these contestants ahev gone a long way, they all had their thing that made them the best, jordin was young and fun still, blake was young and hip, melinda had amazing vocals, so they all deserved to win

MELINDA is absolutely amazing. i hate all the stupid little teenagers who just vote for who has the best hair. and im a teenager myself, but i know who really has a good voice and who doesnt. MELINDA DESERVED TO WIN 100% not jordin.

Talent like Melinda doesn't come around often. She is an amazing talent and it's absolutely ridiculous that she wasn't in the finals. She's better off doing her own type of CD, not getting thrown into some crap pop category. We know who the real winner of Season 6 was and it's going to show when she outsells Blake and Jordin.

Watching this is so depressing because she should have won. Idol will start losing ratings because people who watch this show for the singing (like me) won't be as interested in watching anymore. Though I know the best entertainers get the votes, what's the use of having singing auditions if the best singer doesn't win? Who ever wins, I've already committed to buying her cd.

I think that because Fantasia won last season, that the producers of the show felt that another "black" person winning the show would be redundant, so they let America "think" they voted. I think at the end when they see how close the votes are they picked who they wanted to win b/c they knew Melinda would go on anyway. So, America needs to be mad at American Idol and it's producers because they have made the decision. Melinda and Lekisha should be in the final two. Not Blake or Jordan.

im glad that she's not in the finale. She is really good, but she has already sang professionally as a back up singer, the american idol winner should be someone completely new. It doesnt even really matter that she's out thought because she will get a record immediately anyway

What is the meaning of the word "idol?" I think Melinda defined it for us loud and clear not only by her A+ performances every week, but her humility, respect, and kindess she bestowed on those she encountered while on the show. It is VERY dissapointing she will not be with Jordin in the finale. I wish her only the best.

I don't understand all the mean things about Blake? He helps Lakisha down the steps on her final performance,kisses his dad, give Melinda flowers (of course I have no idea where they came from. Also I have a niece that has Blake version of songs that he has done on idol and the original and he is just as good if not BETTER than the original. It's really not his fault that he is one of the top two. It's your fault for not voting and believing that Melinda was safe!

I did not watch American Idol before, I watched this season because of Melinda, when she was eliminated I dont think I will watch more...The program loses it's credibility because the best vocalist is not the person who wins...
Jordan and Blake are very "pop" and commercial, Melinda is the better vocalist with more sophistication, but she is not commercial...The American audience prefers pop!
After this, I'm sure American Idol is not a serious or fair competition!

check 1:13 of this video- it only shows her goodheart. She looks back to her past by giving the flowers to her back-up singer. She was once a back-up singer, and now she's making her mark as a lead. I think she wanted to spread the good news that "there will be a greater opportunity, you just have to hone your talent, pray, and wait"

i hope blake wins then we will be able to see how dumb this show truly is...it was supposed to come down to the top three being jordin, melinda and lakisha...blake may be original because he beat boxes but melinda can blow, jordin can blow and lakisha can blow...blake wasn't supposed to be there...but i guess, considering that majority of those voting in this show are little girls can explain why sanjaya was there for so long...
