Wow. I've been looking for this kind of thing for years. Skagg's Alpha Beta. The gas station at Wyoming and Comanche; the bank at Wyoming at Montgomery. Not just M Plaza, but Bogart's! (I never went there - I was 16 in '83, and a Junior at Sandia.) More like this! I have postcards of Coronado Mall when it was open-air, and of yellow Suntran buses; I've thought of starting an Albuquerque history website just for stuff like this. Bravo!

AHHHHHH....I was at SY Jackson Elementary School when you shot this...just before I moved to Denver. I miss the Albuquerque of these years...Montgomery Plaza, Pargin Realty, Winrock, Skaggs Alpha Beta, Wallys off of Wyoming and and of course Furrs!!!!
I had left Albuquerque four years earlier in 1979, and moved to McPherson, Kansas.
I would make several visits here until I moved back in 1992. It's an awesome video. It's much different now almost three decades later. God I miss the '80s.
Thanks for posting. I was 3 when you recorded this video. It's rare for me to see how Albuquerque looked when I was a child. Things sure seem a lot more refined these days. I remember those big "M" Montgomery Plaza signs and the Skaggs Alpha Beta. Several years ago, I used to work at the Ross Plaza next door to the former Skaggs. I didn't notice the Ross in your video, but I think it was built in '85. Anyway, thanks for the drive down memory lane.
Wow, Gasoline a $1.04 a gallon! Man I miss the early 80's. Great songs,so in love with my 1st love Juliette, I miss you Jul...wish we were both back in 83 again....
Thanks so much for posting this. Brought back some great memories of Abq in days gone by.
