  • Soooo I'm watching this and realising that most people who are bitching about Crossfit haven't actually attempted it.

  • Needs to *stop* beating on CrossFit

  • Everyone needs to beating on CrossFit it works for people who have real lives and also want to be fit who don't have the resources to train like a pro athlete this is for real people most people hate systems or don't have the motivation to do the same stuff over and retest just to find they got a few seconds better....that's why CrossFit is appealing it keeps you on your toes and prepares most people for most physically daunting tasks of life and usually much better than needed which is the sor

  • hahaha, crossfit is so full of shit.

  • this looks cool but also looks like a lot of overtraining on muscles?

  • @sniperd0g not really, they are done in circuits usually 3 rounds and timed. Its a sick workout packed into a shorter amount of time, makes you into a superhuman. Competition in it as well so it gets you pumped.

  • @dp100 "Superhuman"? Dude, no Crossfitter would stand a chance against a serious Boxer in terms of power, speed, endurance, mental focus, toughness, etc... Modern "Superhumans"? Indeed, HAHAHA!!!! - well, if thinking of yourself as superhuman makes you feel better, then go for it! :-)

  • Can anyone recommend me a beginner workout?

  • The video is unwatchabla imo, the clips are put together way to rapidly

  • What people need to understand is that CF is NOT a system. It is NOT program. CF is just mindless randomness. No programming, no periodization, no system. Just randomness. It makes no sense. It is incorrect to say that "I do CF." You can't "do" something that does not exist and is not defined.

In contrast, Mark Verstegen's Core Performance system IS A SYSTEM. It is organized, it is progressive, and it is periodized. And this is why Verstegen trains elite athletes who make millions.

  • @bsumiko that is so true... CF is not a system. I have done CF... you may get better at "FRAN" every time you attempt it, but if you did "FRAN" for the first time one day, then did a system of workouts for 2 weeks until you attempted a 2nd time your time would be much better than if you kept doing a different CF workout everyday. I found CF is all go and no brains. Like a cult. I love it-but I can only get so much of it without me wanting to jump off a bridge.Just 1 burnout workout after another

  • Cross fit sucks, Specialization is for humans and Insects have exoskeleton's lb/lb their stronger then us.

  • All workout tasks can be adapted. Sometimes it IS up to the participant to recognize motions & moves that he or she is not ready to do and ask, "What's Level one?"

Cross-fit works. I'm 57 & hadn't done formal exercise since high school. Totally new body. 35 pounds lighter. Stronger. Feel good.

  • What you are missing is that experienced CrossFit instructors teach you proper form and technique on all the exercises and ease you into the program. All exercises and workouts can be scaled to anyone's fitness level.

Doing it on your own with no supervision is a potential problem. Get instruction and you'll be fine and get the results you want.

  • @stewarteryan

He is just a fitness troll.I never expected to find a fitness troll on the net.The net is such a joke now.

  • @onelastnoob Fitness troll? I just object to crossfit acting like the invented the concept of circuit training. I do training that some people would probably claim is 'crossfit' but I was doing that long before the marketing vehicle rolled into action. Its nothing new guys. Track athletes, rowers, rugby players have done this stuff for decades. Im sick of partially informed over protective cross fit viewers bleating about a (perfectly) valid comment I made months ago.

  • @pharry4life Some of the crossfit exercises are anaerobic, you don't need a "base aerobic fitness" to do it. People will only injure themselves if the instructors don't know what they're doing.

  • @pharry4life Misguided in its approach?

Is that to the hundreds of Physiologists, Physiotherapists, Sport Psychologists, Doctors, Nutritionists, Strength and conditioning coaches who support it? Many who hold their masters or a phd in their field.

I guarantee that some of these people in this video can easily hold their own in a workout. What is a base Aerobic fitness? A 7.5 on the beep test? 12min 2.4km run? I have no doubt that any client who walks into my gym is capable of CrossFit.

  • @pharry4life what you dont understand as well, cause you haven't researched, is that it is all crossfit SCALEABLE to whatever level you are at, either in top shape or just starting out to a 65 year old man! Instructors arent going to let you do things you are not ready for, they will not let you use weight until you are ready and know proper form. Reps may be scaled back or changed completely if you are new and/or not in shapr

  • @pharry4life In most cases this would be correct. But Crossfit utilizes the scaling of it's WOD's(workouts) to allow you to adjust to your own work capacity. For example a box jump can be substituded with a step up, or a pull up.. can be substituded with a band. Crossfit allows you to adapt to your own physical capabilites. So I think it's and inherent benefit, rather than a problem!

  • @pharry4life Wrong! We scale down to anyones fitness level, most videos' show the extreme as that is what people want to see.

  • @pharry4life As Stewarteryan says , under controlled forms with experienced instructors all training can be scaled. A good example is to watch a few episodes of Biggest Loser as many of the exercises are functional and very similar to these in Crossfit. And they are EXTREMELY unfit ;)

    /Andreas

  • @pharry4life i am pretty sure they let you use only appropriate weights.

  • @pharry4life lolwhat do exercise to get fit for doing exercise?

It just needs to be scaled, which it is.

  • @pharry4life

You dont know what u are talking about. A proper crossfit gym does not expect any out of shape person to do those things. People that are fat or out of shape. Start with proper form training with little to no weight.Or use that band that lifts your body up well you try and do pullups.

  • @pharry4life

Maybe not the pinacle but thats ABSOLUTELY the principal of our training. We don't specialize here mate. Somebody who can C+J 220+ kilos most probably can't run a 5 minute mile. Somebody who can run a sub 4 minute mile most probably can't deadlift 400+ pounds. We're not aiming to specialize, but to attain a broad, general and inclusive level of fitness.

  • Great video, especially for people who have no idea what CrossFit is. The last 10sec are icing on a very good cake.

  • I don't get it. What's the deal with the last ten seconds?

  • I just did my 3rd visit today and I'm sitting here at my desk laughing, and groaning, about this video because it reminded me of today's workout. I love Crossfit so far. Great video too.

  • The end is truly priceless =)

And yeah, this is one of the best promos I've seen. I'm sick of workout ads where they're like "I can't even feel it!" because if there's no pain/soreness, you're not getting a workout! I like the honesty.

  • Great promotional video, really makes me want t join! Take whoever put that together out to a nice meal ^_^

  • Yeah those last 10 sec is priceless! Really good video!

  • I agree, watch to the end.

  • You have to watch it to the very end. Priceless!
