hey guys all of you who are saying "just give him your money" or whatever, that's the whole point. These gun disarms are ONLY for situations where you KNOW their intentions are to kill you or to harm your family or friends or anybody else. there are four responses to violence: run, submit, bluff, and attack. attack is the last option.
@GlaBurnzUrHouseAK47 I am all for that. BUT.. if your instincts tell you that won't be enough you need to know what options you can use. There are numerous stories every month of victims that had given up the goods and still shot or killed. That is our society today. Unfortunately we must be ready for anything!!!
@GlaBurnzUrHouseAK47 Right, and my instructors, and any legitimate KM instructor will tell you to do that. $50 and a few credit cards aren't worth your life. But in some cases, muggers will just shoot you for the hell of it even if you do what they say. This defence is for such a scenario.
@pantherkursk I found myself once in my early youth with a gun in my face long before I knew this material.. I have replayed that scene in my head many times and realize how easy it would have been to successfully defeat him and take the gun. Other than that I have NOT found myself in that situation. Other scenarios that did not involve a gun though. It is a good question. Glad you asked.
@seishintekikutsu there was actually a guy a couple of years ago in like LA or something that robbed a bank or something.... anyway, he held his gun so stupid like that that he shot himself in the foot when firing at the cops... they just arrested him lol
actuall what he is ahowing is just another way to defend if the wpn is close-so practice it and put in memory-one thing-i would attempt to wrap grabbing hand around the trigger guard area and not so far up the slide-whitewolf
Gia, it most likely will discharge during the redirect. The grip minimizes slide movement. The bi-product is that it prohibits the spent shell from expelling thus jamming the gun. The bigger problem is the noise. Many are not used to being close to a gun when it fires so they don't know what to expect. I take my students shooting to get used to a firearm. Search here a video from Gaby Noah. He has a vid with the gun being held during discharge. Thanks for the comment.
If you hold the weapon tight enough the slide will not go back and the gun will jam. You might get a small burn to the hand but that is it. On the Krav Maga instructor course we held a gun whilst it was fired. (Under very safe range conditions with expert instructors lol!)
@GlaBurnzUrHouseAK47 yeah well i think all of us would rather have a smashed up hand then getting shot and killed in a dark alleyway where you could not be discovered.
Excellent video against a VERY real scenario! It is so likely that someone pulling a gun on you to rob you will be the same type of dirt bad who'd pull it on you this way!
Modern day gangsters are stupid as fuck, this would easily work on just about any street thug you'd run into in a major city. Smart gangsters are the OG's like Al Capone.
Cobra, I will leave your post up for a few days then delete it, so others can see the immaturity of your post. I guess at 22 yrs of age you may only be capable of silliness like this,
@BlCobra87 yeah maybe in your little fantasy world where people like you think gangsters are civilized individuals. cmon now not even a proper way to hold a gun, if a krav maga practitioner were to get held up by a gangster, no offense but that "real" gangster would turn into what he really is made of, and thats a individual that shouldnt have messed with a civilized person and martial artist.

FYI, nobody in the hood is that stupid to fall for Krav Maga disarms.
Trial and error has taught many a gangsta 'gun disarms".
The idea that the gangstas dont know how to use their weapons is also a joke. As a kid, I played with my fence-bought 38 everyday like it was a transformers toy. I knew every bit about it. They aren't stupid, just poor.
Klined, it's not a matter of stupid, it is a matter of intimidation & intent. Loads of survailience cameras picking up robberies and crimes reveal that a large percentage of hold ups muggings, etc. offer opportunity to disarm the threat. I am not sure whether you are trying to glorify criminal activity, nor is it relevant to this discussion. If the gun is held and used to threaten in this manner (which is a common threat) it is not difficult to defend or disarm. Dangerous but not difficult.
It does sound like Klined is glorifying crimimal behavior, and your response hits the nail on the head IMO. Meanwhile I never hear those who demonstrate disarms point out that if a gunman is intending to shoot you, you're going to get shot. So what you're talking about is someone who's not predisposed to shooting you, but rather to intimidate, thus usually creating an opening.
Cashman you make a very good and important point. that I always make in my classes. If the gunman is bent on killing, in most cases he shoots long before your opportunity to defend. This venue is based on what you can do against the criminal that uses the weapon for intimidation as you describe. Although the gun threat is used way more than cold blooded shooting. Referenced by the thousands of surveillance camera videos, thus gun defense knowledge is critical. Thank you for the comment.
well it depends,I think that the gunman doesn't come so close for a quick execution,it would be silly, people don't just run to you and then shoot you when they almost make contact,if they come so close they are willing to make psychological contact(scare you, threat, let you know, etc,) thus actually giving you the time to defend yourself(if you are trained of course).
Quick executions(with a gun) are usually on medium-long distance.
I believe if a gunman intends to shoot you, they won't get close enough for you to execute but rather just pop you and be done with it, and that if they do shoot when you are close enough to execute it's likely an incidental discharge, or a reaction to what you're doing (in
The only thing I would say is to tap the mag, then rack. Gangsters are less likley to know how to properly use their weapons, so who knows if the mag is in properly. and it takes half a second longer to do.
After the disarm... two to the chest and one to the head.
Hi Pure, action beats reaction. I will never minimize the danger of a gun threat but the action beats reaction principle against a stable threat wins. So long as you execute properly without telegraphing your move. We test and retest all the time. Every so often we use loaded BB guns with the gunman on the READY to pull the trigger. Real life if the assailant hasn't already shot you he wants something. This offers opportunity to respond while the attacker is focused on what he wants.
A general comment after seeing this post for the first time. If you flinch, whether it's during a disarm attempt, throwing a punch, doing a counter strike, or any other act of engagement, then you haven't properly trained. If you telegraph, you get nailed.......whatever the situation.
