i think robocop 2 was the most evil, but he did have the brain of a drug addict psychotic, a robot doing what it is told cannot really be considered evil because it has no will of its own, HAL for example was just making decisions based on conflicting instructions

Very few of these could actually be called evil. Insane certainly, but there is a quote from Terminator 3 that covers the problem here: Desire is irrelevent I am a machine. Evil is the willful desire to do evil things, to kill, maim, destroy and generally do harm, because it is your choice to do so. Since the majority of these robots and cyborgs have no desires or free will of their own, they cannot be classified as being evil

hal wasnt evil, he had conflicting objectives one to tell the crew everything he knew, and the other to withhold infromation from them. the only way he could keep each objective complete was killing the crew

Ash from Alien was neutral, neither good nor evil. Gort was a peacekeeper, which would be clearer if you had read the story. But if you want evil, try LISA (the US Robotics central computer) from I, Robot. THAT was one seriously evil pile of circuits.

If you don't mind cartoons. I'd say UNIKRON from Transformers the Cartoon Movie was by far the largest and deadliest machine ever created because it consumed smaller planets in it's path.
Nice collection. However, I don't think "Gort" is an evil robot. The same for "Batty" from Blade Runner. I kinda felt sorry for him when he said his final words to Deckard, (the last few lines were improvised) and when he released the white dove ... I kinda got choked up inside. He did after all save Deckard's life.

cyborg - machine cabale of performing tasks and adapting itself in order to carry out those tasks relevant to its surroundings
android - capable of developing own thoughts to rationalise a situation and act upon its own made decisions. develops its personality by what factual encounters it has. has what we may call "free will"

One has to be careful when throwing terms like "evil" around. I mean, Gort was responding to what he perceived as human aggression toward him and his master. Box was under the impression he was helping society by freezing the humans, because the ocean had stopped providing "fish and plankton, and seagreens and protien from the sea". The ED249 was malfunctioning, not evil. One could argue the same about HAL.
Great vid. But Daelin is right, in T1 and T2 it's a T-800. In T3 it's a variation T-850 model which is made to withstand plasma hits from T-Sex, I mean X (coughs). (and the 101 refers to the skin model - so 101 is Arnold. 102 will look like someone else, etc., but different skin models can be used on the same endoskeleton type, and vice versa. In T3 it's a T-850 - 101)
technically speaking I'm not even sure if Roy from Blade Runner could be considered a robot. He and the rest of his gang were more like super-humans with very short half-lives. Kind of like "manufactured humans".

HAL 9000 was not evil. He was given conflicting orders by the NCA and the NSA. He was instructed to lie to the crew about the monolith, and because HAL cannot lie, he interpreted them as best he could. HAL's instructions were to carry out the mission. He deduced that by killing the crew, he could satisfy the orders given to him and complete the mission autonomously.

@StolenMonkey I think cnsc wanted to use the word robot as a wide comprehensive term for a "machine acting like a human does". But if I had to put a remark I would have sorted them by years. From the elder to the younger . It would make a point.

What about the robot girl from Metropolis? That's evil robot for sure. But no robot is more evil and deadly that my toster. It tried to kill me several times and always looks at me in funny way. Tosts tasty, though.

One has to be careful when throwing terms like "evil" around. I mean, Gort was responding to what he perceived as human aggression toward him and his master. Box was under the impression he was helping society by freezing the humans, because the ocean had stopped providing "fish and plankton, and seagreens and protien from the sea". The ED249 was malfunctioning, not evil. One could argue the same about HAL.
Good compilation, though.

It's a T-850 (850 series Model 101", a "T-850", or a "T-101") It's different from the common T-800.

@csnc82 The Model 101 in T3 was a T-850 but the Model 101s in T1, T2 and Salvation were all T-800s.

Great vid. But Daelin is right, in T1 and T2 it's a T-800. In T3 it's a variation T-850 model which is made to withstand plasma hits from T-Sex, I mean X (coughs). (and the 101 refers to the skin model - so 101 is Arnold. 102 will look like someone else, etc., but different skin models can be used on the same endoskeleton type, and vice versa. In T3 it's a T-850 - 101)

The T-850 is the Terminator model used in Terminator 3.
In "The Terminator" it's a T-800 with the model 101 skin (Arnold Schwarzenegger).

technically speaking I'm not even sure if Roy from Blade Runner could be considered a robot. He and the rest of his gang were more like super-humans with very short half-lives. Kind of like "manufactured humans".

HAL 9000 was not evil. He was given conflicting orders by the NCA and the NSA. He was instructed to lie to the crew about the monolith, and because HAL cannot lie, he interpreted them as best he could. HAL's instructions were to carry out the mission. He deduced that by killing the crew, he could satisfy the orders given to him and complete the mission autonomously.
