But I have to ask, how many people have to die do to not having any health care coverage? I am not saying "rush" threw it but they could move faster then a dead stop.
4:22 No it is not free, people have to buy in, it will just be cheaper so people that do not have a lot of money can get covered by it.
5:03 Then we need to get rid of Medicare. It is in fact Gov. ran health care. So what your saying is that we need to take away health care for the elderly. This is what your saying?
How many have to die? Who is dieing now? Hospitals cannot turn people away just because they have no insurance.
If the coverage is just cheaper, then that is even more reaon to simply make it cheaper, rather than spend tax money on bureaucratic mess and entitlements.
As for medicare, I would argue that we should never have gotten into it in the first place. It is not the proper role of the federal government and is not constitutional. But, no, we can't just get rid of it, either.
"How many have to die? Who is dieing now? Hospitals cannot turn people away just because they have no insurance."
Well people that can't get in to see a doc. until it is to late to fix any health problem they have, if it be there heart or high blood perisher or any of a number of things that you need a doc to see you to find out about. Without health care coverage they just don't have the money to pay out right. Ya your right, who cares about the poor, let them die.
"If the coverage is just cheaper, then that is even more reaon to simply make it cheaper, rather than spend tax money on bureaucratic mess and entitlements."
Ya but when have you ever known a comp. that is ran to make money are not just going to drop there prices so that way everyone can be covered by them. Come to think about it just yesterday I heard that there going to be raising there prices even more over the next ten years. Ya thy really care for people more then money.
"As for medicare, I would argue that we should never have gotten into it in the first place. It is not the proper role of the federal government and is not constitutional. But, no, we can't just get rid of it, either."
Why not just get rid of it, screw old people. There just going to die soon anyways, right?
Why do you want to screw old people? Of course, the Baucus bill that is being proposed would do just that by reducing coverage on current medicare recipients, so maybe it's a liberal thing. :> (In case you didn't know, the Baucus bill calls for a cut in current medicare spending.)
Well that is the conservative's way is it not. As far as I have ever seen all conservative's care about is them self's, they don't care about you or me or anybody. So why not "screw" the old people. Why would conservative's want there tax dollars being spent on old people anyways. There just going to die soon anyways, right? You sir have changed me, I was a moderate now seeing how you have shown me that I don't want to help people I think of no one but myself, think I will become a conservative.
You really don't get it. You call conservatives selfish, but they give more, on average, to charities than liberals. And it's not just that they have more money. They give more blood, too, for example. We see taking care of people our responsibility, not the government's. Liberals, on the other hand, seem to want the government to take care of everything and everybody so they don't have to have that responsibility themselves.
That's pretty much my question, too. In times past, the safety net was the local community. Now, increasingly, people look to Big Brother, the federal government, for all the answers.
If there was competition between companies, they would be pressure to be competitive, which would mean being as efficient as possible and giving people plans they want. They could better afford to reduce prices if the godawful mess of bureaucratic regulation was eased up.
Your right, only having two or three companies that care for nothing more then money is the best way to go. Screw the old, the poor, the helpless. I say that we live by the saying that "he who has the most toys in the end, wins". And what good do the old and poor do for us anyways right. The conservative way, "if your here to help people then don't use MY tax dollars to do it".
As it stands, these people can (and do) go to emergency rooms all the time for every little problem. It's a part of the problem we have in our system, yes, but it's not one that mandates massive government interference. This problem you seem to think there is, of poor people dieing like flies because they can't go to a doctor, I contend does not exist. You would have to show some evidence of that.
Evidence you say..... I am my evidence. You see I need to see the dentist (really bad) but I can't because I do NOT have ANY HEALTH CARE COVERAGE!!! Why do I not have any health care coverage you may ask, because I don't have $500 bucks a month to spend out for it. If I payed out $500 bucks then I could not pay my other bills like rent, lights, food. Health care for all is more then just trips to a doc. It means a better quality of life for all, not just the rich.
Dental care? Dude... don't you realize that health insurance almost never includes dental care? *I* don't have dental insurance, either. Can't afford it. Most people don't have it. But, that doesn't mean that the government should give it to me at taxpayer expense.
Ya that's that point if you want it then you have to pay out the ass for it.
"But, that doesn't mean that the government should give it to me at taxpayer expense."
So now you show your true side. You care so little for other people as well as you do not even look down the rood of your own life to think "maybe I may need that kind of help or even my kid". That sir is called putting a price on human life.
Wow... we are talking about dentistry... not "human life." There are lots of things I'd love to have but don't because I can't afford it. I'd love to have a new car, a new house... should other people be forced to pay for those for me as well? You call me selfish and uncaring, yet it's you who wants to force me and everyone else to pay for your dental work. That sounds pretty selfish to me.
Now you know as well as I that going out to buy a house and car is not the same as health care. And because of unchecked mouth infections can and have in fact killed people. You can play all the word games you like but it is clear to me that you don't give to shits about anyone but your self. And feather more NO ONE IS ASKING FOR IT TO BE FREE. CAN YOU NOT READ? ARE YOU BLIND AS WELL AS UNCARING? WE ARE ASKING FOR IT TO BE FARE AND WITH IN A PRICE RANGE THAT EVERYONE IF THEY WISH CAN GET IT.
Dude... you really need to step back and take a deep breath. I know you don't want ~free~ healthcare, you want subsidized healthcare. So, you don't want your neighbors to pay ~all~ of the expense, just some or most of it. My point still stands.
And a house and car are the same as health care insurance. They are commodities some may view as necessities.
I have a leak in my roof. If it goes untreated, my house will be unlivable. My family will be out on the street and could die of exposure! Are you so uncaring that you won't help me buy a new house?
My car broke down. I can't get it fixed and I'll lose my job. My family will starve! Are you so uncaring that you'd watch my family starve instead of helping me buy a new car?
Lastly, an unchecked mouth infection would only kill someone if they refused to seek medical treatment, which, as we have already discussed, is always provided whether you can pay or not.
And if you like it or not every poor person that goes into a ER and does not pay, our tax dollars pay for that as well in tax right off for hospitals.
