chopin is chopin....be it piano concerto no 1 or nocturno......chopin, beethoven, bach, mozart dvorak, bartok, debussy, ravel or bayer or tchaikovsky.....u cant compare thm wid d crap music created 2day..cuz musicians 2day create music while responding 2 nature's calls i feel!!
I had a very good friend who had a Steinway Concert Grand & I used to love & sit & play it, he live in a big A Frame house on the side of a hill & he'd open his sliding doors all the way at the front of the house & blast classical music he would play on his great sound system! This was in Doaktown New Brunswick & people didn't seem to complain :-)
The last time I played this piece was on a Stineway Grand that was worth over 80 thousand dollar's and it sounded so good. I usually don't have access to an instrument of this quality. Kinda gave me the shiver's. I'm not sure if it was because of the quality of the piano, or the thought of how much the piano was worth. The key action had such a good feel and the piano was tuned to a universal pitch. A lot of the piano's are tuned to a standard pitch.I guess standard pitch is 4 church music.
@B876539 I used to be the custodian at the Conservatory of Victoria in Canada and I had access to their concert hall whenever I wanted. I would go there at night and turn on a couple spot lights, sit alone in the large hall, and played on their concert Steinway for hours at a time. It was worth over 100 grand and I think it was the 2nd best piano in Canada. It felt like butter under my fingers. It made me sound more skilled and passionate than I really was. Especially with the amazing acoustics.
@Firehearte I agree that the end seemed a little rushed... It felt like he was just "getting it done," rather than, as you said, embracing the piece's beauty. Where I disagree is in the darker, more ominous section in the middle, which I think he did excellently.
3 dislikes? I swear, people come to great works like this just to troll. How sad their life must be.

Some people want young white females to mix with non-white males.
I made a one-minute video highlighting a very small sample of race-mixing advertisements.
I love white people, and I am opposed to race-mixing. But I do not hate non-whites.
If you click on my name “awhitesoul2012” highlighted in blue below this comment, you can watch my video.
Thanks.

It brings tears to my eyes knowing that humanity can create something so beautiful, and then knowing why nothing else.

does the quality of the instrument really matter when compared to the effect of a truly passionate artist?

@ophelius111 You are so lucky to have had that much access to a Stineway Grand. It's not something you can get from Rent-A-Center.

@B876539 What is a universal pitch, what kind of tuning is that, are we supposed to know what you are talking about?

@B876539 Do you know that a brand new Steinway Grand Model D from Hamburg, Germany worth almost 200 000$... 80 000 is a bargain !

This piece was rushed, especially towards the end. I was slightly disappointed that the performer didn't embrace the beauty of the piece.
