in the description, it's actually koyaanisqatsi, with a q. doesnt matter, even though i think many films were silent back then, so back then you actually needed talent to do a film. unlike today when they let any fucktard go on screen. creds to the film-makers, and to cinematic orchestra for a great up-to-date score.
Thanks! But I note: I don't think it is similar to the Qatsi Trilogy (Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, Naqoyqatsi). In that movies the picture has a very meaning, in this movie the picture are toying.
Saw cinematic orchestra perform this live in Glasgow a few years ago, complete with the movie projected on a huge screen behind them and it was absolutely fucking brilliant. They also did a few tracks from Motion like 'Ode To The Big Sea' etc. afterwards. Awesome night. If you ever get the chance to see them live go for it!
Freat movie indeed, but music itself makes it much better... so complete... I love it - the soundtrack comes back to my playlist again and again. I've had a copy of the movie, but had to give back to owner :(

Thank you.
I have the Michael Nyman score on my DVD. The picture is better, but this score is the best.

Pro mě po Nosferatu jeden z nejgeniálnějších děl swětowé kinematografie.Pan Vertov neskutečný umělec.

Great stuff, thank you for sharing this amazing material.
Unique insight in daily life in the soviet union.
Mind you, a shame about the horrible modern music.
