Do you realize in a day's time how many people, when being pulled over, go to the nearest emergency room and claim either they or someone they are with need to be seen there? Quite a bit. That cop showed enormous respect to that women. She claimed her husband has a heart condition when he testifed in court he had fallen and that's whey he was going to the ER. Two different stores and none of it makes okay the fact that the guy broke his cane over the cops head.

Alot of ignorant posts on here about this video. The Officer was doing his job. Whether you like the infraction he pulled them over for or not it was a legal stop by the Officer. People lie to the police everyday. So the job of the police is to investigate. So that means when she says its an emergency the Officer looks into it and decides if it is and then proceeds from there. He couldnt even get that far because the woman wouldnt cooperate. I read up on this case. They let him go for hitting that cop but he was on probation for something else, so they found some other reason to take him to jail. Then I believe the judge explained to him that he was not going to jail for this bullshit but because of the other reason.

If you have transportation and your condition doesn't require being immobilized, you don't NEED to call an ambulance. Faulting them for not calling an ambulance is just ridiculous. Driving to the hospital is a faster way to get full medical attention.

I can't beleive that officer responded to a medical emergency like that! Worrying about LOUD EXHAUST during a medical emergency? He should have helped get the man to the hospital: not DELAY EMERGENCY TREATMENT. Any driver rushing to the ER has a right to forget to use turn signals.
That was a poor judgment by the officer. He had no knowledge of the seriousness of the announced medical problem involved. Yet, he insisted to prioritize formality checkups that would increase the time before medical attention could be achieved. I have no problem identifying with the frustration felt by the people in the car. Though the woman probably could have eased the situation by being a bit calmer. And the hitting of the officer was completely unnecessary.

The lady was right she wanted to get her husband in there obviously it was important she needed to get him in there and she would deal with the cold hearted cop who pulled her over and arrested her for no turn signal when people do it everyday. She only yelled because she was in a state of panic due to her husbands medical problem of course the cop made it worse instead of calming her down.

I can see both the cop's view and the driver's view.
First, the cop's view. Being a cop can and is dangerous and they have to be careful otherwise they can easily end up dead.
Now the driver's side. To all of you who said the lady could've/should've been calmer: I thiunk she was acting as could be expected.

Alot of ignorant posts on here about this video. The Officer was doing his job. Whether you like the infraction he pulled them over for or not it was a legal stop by the Officer. People lie to the police everyday. So the job of the police is to investigate. So that means when she says its an emergency the Officer looks into it and decides if it is and then proceeds from there. He couldnt even get that far because the woman wouldnt cooperate. Then the gut who is "SO HURT" attacks!

Which when i got to the jail i talked to my lawyer and he told me that he would of had to write me a ticket when i was found in possestion of the pipe so

They should have helped this womans husband first and and taken care of the traffic stop later. The officers from the video really need to handle these situations alot better than this. I was totally blown away by thier lack of concern for the people that they hired to protect and serve.

What doesn't the lady understand about the lights and sirens that mean she needed to pull over? Had she pulled over and told the officer about the medical situation, none of this would have happened. She had an attitude with him from the moment he turned his siren on. You must stop for lights and sirens, it doesn't matter if you are being pulled over or its a fire truck etc. Before she showed her lack of intelligence, she was already wrong. She could have acted better. She put the cop at danger

I read up on this case. They let him go for hitting that cop but he was on probation for something else, so they found some other reason to take him to jail. Then I believe the judge explained to him that he was not going to jail for this bullshit but because of the other reason.

4. Never answer anything that might put you in bad position and you can answer those questions by saying "my lawyer informs me that i should only talk to the police when he's present"
5. Remember if a police ask your permission to do something (to come in or search your car or whatever) he does NOT have the right to do so without it.
6. Never argue or act angry, if a cop makes a mistake he'll pay for it later, and even you might get payed.

OK here are few simple rules how you establish to the police that you are in a higher class than they are and that they understand that they are here to serve and protect you.
1. Never call a police officer sir/ma'm thats shows you're submissiveness and takes away your higher position as a sir/ma'm.
2. Always be calm, with your hands easily by you're sides, try to have a nonchalant smile with you.
3. Always let the officer talk first and listen what it says, then tell him what it asks.

Actually, they have to go to college to be a police officer. I was speaking in regard to this individual officer on the video. I have nothing against "the police" as a group. That would sort of be a conflict, as I work in EMS, and we have to work with them to function. And comparing country to country in view of how public safety is carried out, is apples to oranges, you have no base for an argument.

Ambulances can be very expensive. SOME PEOPLE JUST HATE THEM! I refuse to ride in them! They are loud and hit so many bumps! My husband is the only way I go to the hospital! I had 9 stitches in my finger and was going into shock I did not care! Unless I am unconscious I will not get in one of those big loud things! Look past the not signalingREALLY WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO A HOSPITAL! THESE COPS ALL NEED TO GO TO SOME KIND OF MORALITY TRAINING! Now go apologize!

If you have transportation and your condition doesn't require being immobilized, you don't NEED to call an ambulance. Faulting them for not calling an ambulance is just ridiculous. Driving to the hospital is a faster way to get full medical attention.

This is 90% the cop's fault, 10% the woman's in my opinion. The cop was no doubt an idiot and an asshole for not letting her take her father into the hospital first, especially considering it was just a stupid traffic violation. But on the other hand, the woman should have been more calm and not said "I didn't do nothing! What did I do? Don't grab me!" All of those are things you say AFTER you get your dad taken care of, because you don't want to agitate the officer in that situation.

It's usually faster to take your loved one to the ER than to call 911. Hell, they might even hang up on you and send no one. It used to be law that in an emergency you could hit your flasher and horn and go through red lights and stops, treating them like yields. That should still be the law. If not, it needs to be fixed. Actually, City Ambulance service is free to those who are uninsured/can't pay. Most large cities with major hospitals offer these services.

That was a poor judgment by the officer. He had no knowledge of the seriousness of the announced medical problem involved. Yet, he insisted to prioritize formality checkups that would increase the time before medical attention could be achieved. I have no problem identifying with the frustration felt by the people in the car. Though the woman probably could have eased the situation by being a bit calmer. And the hitting of the officer was completely unnecessary.

That's right. The cop should have escorted them into the hospital (A cop is not a doctor). His job is to write her a citation then head on with the rest of his work as a cop. He would have been home without the lump on his body where the cane hit.
The man should have never hit the cop; Eventhough, it does seem that the arrogant cop deserved more than the cane to his body, but then this would have been easier for the cops to sweep under a rug. The cop hung himself.
