  • oh wow, awesome sounds....would like to have this one too ;)

  • Awesome! How much did it cost to build?

  • @SalterWobchak This was a few years ago now so I can't remember the exact costs. Probably no more than £50 in parts - but possibly about 10K in labour ;)

    Thanks for the comment.

  • coool

  • @Drevilbreakfast Thanks!

  • Stylish design - nice. Great chuggy buzzy sounds too

  • @stealthbopper Thank you! :)

  • that thing would be great for french house, early draft punk type stuff

  • Awesome!!! Top points for loads of knobs too!

  • @rabupp Thanks - much appreciated. :)

  • i really love this! to bad u sold it already. i want to build this sooo badly. i have a few chips here: 555, 40106, 4093, 4017BE, and one very rare and expensive MAX038CPP. is there any chance i can get a schematic for this? or something similar? P L E A S E haha...i begg on my knees :-)

  • @rockangel1967 Not sure I even have schematics for this now. Honestly though - it's not that complex, it just makes good use of some simple synth basics. Get to know the 555, practice making Vactrols and you're half way there. Simple. :)

  • ok that is impressive

  • @SUFGBG Thanks for the comment - cheers!

  • This friggin thing could make power electronics that would kill people

  • Love the sounds here. fantastic. i'm jealous now....ha ha.

  • @riddimshakk Thanks - appreciated. :)

  • Hey, I could totally dance to it! xD

Put in some lyrics so we can sing along! :D

  • the secuence at 1:28 is more than any commercial sinth can give ! Congratulations, this piece is awsome

  • @ICandyflippingI

Thank you very much - your comment is appreciated. J

  • This piece of equipment is extreme!

  • @owlwink

    Thanks - appreciated. J

  • i hope i reach this level in my own projects... i am most comfortable with the 40106 hex Schmidt trigger as oscillator and LFO

  • @KaslarProductions - thanks for the comment. This was my first 'serious' build - it took a while to get it together but it was worth the time. The 555 is another great one for oscillators.

    Cheers - J.

  • yes yes.... i too, started with the infamous atari punk console! :) but the 555 and even the 556 don't sound as clean as the 40106. i think my next project will have to include a resonant low pass filter.

    happy buiding!!

  • This is great. Where do you even start building a synth ? Are there any easy DIY kits out there to get going with ?

  • Thanks Columbo. For DIY kits you could try a search for 'MFOS WSG'. If you wanted to try your hand at your own design then check out some circuits using the 555 timer.

    HTH - J

  • illegally brilliant!

  • :) Thanks!

  • man this is a great little device. i would love to build the synth system from MFOS one of these days and sync that up with the input with the MFOS.

  • Hey - thanks for the comment.

Yeah - I think the MFOS WSG and this might get along just fine - I'd like to hear them together!

  • yeah, no kidding. theres a video ill do a reply to and show this one dj's custom MFOS system in operation

  • Wicked - I'd love to see it.

Ray Wilson at MFOS is a genius and a legend.

  • 2:46, it should be illegal to produce that amount of phat sounds !

    nice job, dude !

  • Heh heh! Thanks Bertje - cheers.

  • Thia sounds phat!!

  • Excellent - thanks!

    J

  • Damn i love it! If there were schematics i would build one for sure!

  • Hey Intosia, thanks for the comments - glad you like it. Sorry - no schematics, but I do sell the synths I build.

    Cheers - J

  • you do? would you ship even to europe?

  • Hey search,

Shipping to Europe is no problem - I'll happily organise shipping to just about anywhere in the world.

Feel free to PM me if you want more info.

    Cheers!

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • nice!

  • Kinda sounds like a C64. :)

  • A C64 on acid maybe? ;)

  • this thing for sale?I want one!!

  • Sorry! This one sold a while ago. There's more builds on the way though - stay tuned (and feel free to subscribe to my channel).

    Thanks for the message.

  • where did you learn to do this? have you got a link?

  • Hey Silvastomp - I'm pretty much self-taught. There's loads of good info out there for getting started in electronics and synth/effects building. Try doing a search for 'DIY Synth & Effects'. Good luck - thanks for the comment.

  • please do how to video

  • Hi - a ' how to' video? Hmmm, maybe - what would you like to see? How to do...?

  • i dont know just like how did you create this lovley fabulus contraption

  • Thanks for the comment musicman - glad you like the synth. OK - I'll see what I can do. Stay tuned...!

  • lovely beat-thingy :) one question, those three stages, are those xactly the same ? and what are those stages ?

    peace / Daniel

  • Hi Daniel - thanks for the comment.

The 3 rows are to control and modulate the Pitch and PWM of the oscillator and the Gating of the audio out - (like a 'chopper' effect).

  • I wonder, how can one learn to build something like this?

Are there any kind of simple rhythm generators with schematics?

  • Search online for 'Synth DIY' - you'll find loads of great resources.

  • cool men. very nice synth. sounds good.

but one question. are there 3 seperated lfos that where synced or one that works multiple?

  • Hey - thanks for the comment, glad you like the synth.

There are 4 separate, square-wave LFOs (Pitch, PWM Coarse, PWM Fine and Volume Gating). All LFOs are synced to the main internal tempo.

New synth on it's way soonish!

  • nice to hear.

would be happy to see him then.

    i´m on a new one too :D

  • do u have a schematic for this?

  • Sorry - no schematic for this - it was always going to be a one-off. I will be building more synths though.

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

im so confused right now... and i love it!
