Not practical at this moment. We have one of the worst economy among the states. Home mortgage is worst among anywhere else. The governor wanted more aid from the federal government and not getting it. We have one of the worst educational system where more than half of high school students do not know where our capitol is. We would need more state troops to become national army and that's not gonna happen. We would have to revoke our current state government and convince our californians too. No

It is California that is bankrolling much of the U.S. & California is still the 8th largest economy on Earth despite that fact.

@Phalanx3800 California has contributed on average well over 3.65 billion dollars more per year for the last twenty years into the federal treasury than it has received in Federal services in return. California also produces nearly half of U.S. grown fruits, nuts & veggies.

Those facts seem to point to the U.S. needing California much more than the other way around.

Why are each residents of CA paying Federal taxes? California doesn't get anything back! if every city/region in the USA has its own currency (like HK and Macau), perhaps every city around the country will be prosperous!

The best thing for california to do is team up with alaska, hawaii, oregon, and washington and succeed from the u.s.
