Your statement about there being just as many black racists as white racists is incorrect. Think about this issue from a historical perspective. Not to justify hatred, but blacks and other minorities (especially Native Americans) have plenty of reasons to hold a grudge against those of European descent.

Serving in the military is not the only way to serve your country. Working with people to make this country better is serving your country. Did you say this to Bush when he was elected? How about Cheney, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, etc? Ron Paul was in the Air Force...how come you didn't vote for him? Just because someone served in the military doesn't make them a great person. Great people and great Americans do great things for their country...regardless of what it is that they do.

Black people have been voting for white candidates, regardless of the office, for roughly 40 years. How many black candidates have you voted for? Blacks have been oppressed in this country for over 400 years and you're complaining about them coming together for a common cause? Were the blacks that supported Martin Luther King Jr. racist? Have you ever voted for a black candidate? Blacks have voted for white candidates for over 40 years. Whites have been able to vote for 500 years and blacks only got that right in 1965. If a white person votes for a white candidate, does that make them racist? No. Try learning more about American history before trying to make premature assessments.

Blacks tend to vote overwhelmingly for ANY democrat. Being black helped, but don't read into it much further than that. Blacks have been voting for whites for 40 + years. It's exciting to see a non-white person run for president.

A lot of people vote that way. 70% of voters vote based on how they "feel" about the candidate and what kind of person they think he/she is. Americans, as of late, but not historically, have been very unintelligent voters. People go into the booths and come out after a few minutes. It took me over 2 hours to fill out my ballot. I read everything about each and every item on the ballot. Race did play a part of this years election. People voted for McCain because they didn't trust a black man.

Not everyone did that, but quite a few people did. I don't take race into account when I vote...and I don't take religion into account when I vote. Not everyone is like me. A LOT of people voted for the first time this year and I think that is GREAT. It makes people more informed and gets them involved. Even if they just checked Obama's box...they still did more this year than in the past. Obama may have sparked massive political interest in the black community and I applaud him for that.

Some people did vote for McCain as a thing against blacks, but I'd say that way more people voted for Obama because just because he's half black. And the young college kids just vote for Obama because he says things like "Change, Unity etc."They just vote for whoever is this most popular without really doing any research.

I agree - only wish the one that ran would have been more up to the job than Obama. Sorry, but his lack of experience scares me esp when we are in wartime, as does his ultra-liberal stances.
I voted for McCain for his military exp, which I believe we needed right now, and hope Obama will take advantage of more exp'd people to help him during his tenure.
If he does that he may do well - I hope so.

People are racist. The majority of blacks voted for Obama because the colour of his skin. I believe a news site mentioned 97% of blacks voted for him and 40% of whites. McCain seems to be more experienced for the position, 40% white votes seems reasonable for Obama but 97% black votes?.. seems blacks just want a black president. Was never going to be an election based on who fits the job best. There are idiotic white racists, but there are just as many (or more) black racists.
