I invite You to find a good explain of that topic at my videos: "Does God left us?" and "are natural disasters punishment from God". You may find why surely they're not, and why God still allows to that.
This bronze age idea, that you pay for the sins of your fathers has been removed from our legal institutions and civil life after 2 thousand years of growing up. It is only the deluded backward thinking holy fucks, who still find that mentality acceptable. Thank fck our courts and governments dont act so backwardly.
Many good points were made here with use of scriptures quoted. Here are some other good ones:
"When under trial, let no one say: "I am being tried by God." For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone." James 1:13.
So God is never the source of suffering. Granted, he does allow bad to happen but there's a big difference between allowing and causing it. He promises suffering is temporary anyway. 1 John 3:8 and Revelation 21:4
The Bible Study Aid "What Does The Bible REALY Teach?" has a great chapter on this very subject where it answers, by use of scriptures, some really tough questions like:
"Let your will be done on earth as it is done in heaven".(Matthew 6:10) Any disaster on earth is not God's will.Jesus thought us to pray and ask for our heavenly father's will to be done here on earth. There is no point to ask for his will to be done if it is already happening what he wants or pleases.God never want us to suffer but he has honored our choices and decisions.Unfortunatly, many of them brought their own consequences.Nice video, thanks for it
@arcarlat Prayer doesn't work. Look up Harvard Prayer study for details. If anything prayer cause those with serious illnesses to have more complications when others are praying for you.

Has God caused the suffering in the world?
What issue was raised in the garden of Eden?
How will God undo the effects of human suffering?

If God wanted to then fix natural disasters he could and it wouldn't interfere with human free will, but he chooses not to.
