lol at the people who think the movie was deep. You can like it all you want, but let's not call sucker punch "deep". The metaphors were as subtle as a train and the plot was obvious from the 10 first minutes.

Apart from the first scene which had SOME emotion in it (and i do mean SOME), the rest was blatant, unemotional, garbage action sequences with bits of plot thrown in it in order to claim "it's not just an action movie with hot girls!!11!1!1!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!" Please, get serious.

@Duracell330v What is to be understood? It is just a story, the funny part and the only thing to be take into the consider is who's story is and that's in the final. The five things that came from the begin, when this music started were map, fire, knife, key and one more thing, her. The interesting part is that if you take the film part by part it doesn't have anything special, beside the good, but the films is about matching the scenes and that makes it a good movie.

The film wasn't complicated, it had 3 layers, the asylum (real world), the brothel (used to cope with the horrors of the asylum, says something when being a prostitute is better) and the war(s), used when they need to accomplish a goal and have to be brave. It's meant to be because they're so damaged by...well everything, before and after their incarceration. It's heavily suggested that they are regularly sexually and physically abused.

XD

Soundtrack was good! Yet despite that I have to agree with the ratings. It just wasn't there for me even though it has its moments. Of course, everyone can have their own opinions about the movie, I just personally thought the movie could have been better. Great movie, I love Snyder. It's such a shame that the VAST majority of critics were too foolish to get the film. There are genuine criticisms to level against the film but most of those used were ridiculous and seemed to come from people who genuinely didn't get it. Such a shame, this film deserved much better reviews.

i wasnt sure i liked the movie what with all the unnecessary actions fight scenes. (im not an action fan) but once i stopped and actually thought about it, god the movie was so remarkable. the thing she asked for was her freedom. she gained it through dance in her mind and gained it through losing her mind in reality. a nice twisted ending. always keeps you coming back for more no matter if you already seen it once.

@postreaper Each to their own. I know people who took the film as visual eye candy with little else and others who preferred to focus on themes and underlying meanings in the imagery. Its all a matter of personal opinion and how one interprets a film. I personally found it to be creatively refreshing and an interesting take on imagination and the mind. I took in the film from both a media analysis point of view and a philosophical one.
