Your explanation was nice. But wrong. When you hit the bottle a vacuum is created and the water fills the void with such speed that it forces the bottom of the bottle out.

How would a vacuum be created if there is still air inside the bottle when you hit it? I might be wrong, but a vacuum is an absence of air, and when you strike it you make a seal with your hand preventing the air from escaping.

You can't just create a vacuum by hitting something.

Sorry but this has nothing to do with air compression, the reason it blows out is because you have 1/3 Kilo (~Pound) of water going up and then slamming down at the bottom of the bottle with no air between the water and bottom to cushion the hit.

INCORRECT! The reason the bottom of the bottle breaks is because the vibration from hitting the bottle, causes the air to pressurize, but also vibrates the incompressible water upward, creating a quick vacuum between the base and the water. That vacuum then pulls the water back down and forces the bottom of the bottle causing it to break.

The science he describes using this method is completely bullshit. The real trick is creating a shockwave at the bottom of the bottle. The speed at which you jerk the bottle with the blow causes a small pocket of air for a split second at the bottom due to momentum of the water. his explanation was incorrect. when you hit the bottle it actually causes a momentary vaccuum in the bottom of the bottle and when the vaccuum closes back up or dissappears it does so with suck force bringing the water back down that it breaks the bottle. its much more evident in super slow motion filming

Nice video man. However, i saw this trick on timwarp and they did it a little differentaly and had a different way of breaking it. Instead of moving your hand to the bottle, simotaniously bring the bottle to your hand. This way the water comes to an instant stop, but the water still has its mometum. What happens is that the water movse up creating a vacume at the bottom, the water then gets pulled down drastically making the bottom break open. I think that its on the first episode of time warp..
