  • Total Legend, nothing else to say.

  • This is another one of those brilliant Parkinson interviews

  • Top of the hat !

  • nice one fred

  • I'm sorry, but take it out of context and that performance is SHOCKINGLY bad.

  • @toaratcus, I know, what a beautiful man.

  • Why do the gays love her?

  • great singer Fred Astaire

but not a great version of the song

way to loungy for it's original classical feel

  • Fred - pure class.

  • Bette Midler & all

put on the gas & oppose to the elimination of court reporters in California or step on the gas & get our son into SHOW BIZ

  • Whata great singer he was too

  • But Michael I'm telling you the plot! Isn't the the inspiration for Kenny Everett's Cupid Stunt?

Yarwood never really lost his talent, just his confidence, sadly.

  • Great to see Dee Snider at O:32

    :P

  • i wanna see the whole interview as well! if anyone has it let me know! love this man- he rules!

  • Is it just me, or was Bette Midler really sexy in those days?

  • Is she sexy because of her looks or is spite of it

  • @welshuser No, it's not just you. There was definately something damn sexy about her. If I had a time machine I'd like to try and change a little bit of her history! :o)

  • @welshuser

    Extremely!

  • Does anyone have the entire Bette Midler interview from this? Let's see it! The clip is great.

  • I have it all on dvd - as well as a few other midler rarities but Iam afraid I am clueless as to how to transfer footage to you tube

  • The actual interview would be much appreciated!

  • Yay fred! btw does anyone have the actual fred astaire michael parkinson interview? i'd love to see it.

  • Me too.

  • I LOVE FRED!!! And Bette Midler is also just gorgeous. Her natural personality is so special and it comes through in all her movie roles.

  • Oh Fred, you had it!

  • Great to see Fred Astaire at such a late stage in his career performing so brilliantly. Excellent clip. Thanks!

  • You should see him dance on the Dick Cavett Show at around 80. He also did a dance with Gene Kelly in 1972 that was also spectacular!

  • Imagine if Fred was still alive today... aged 109 (born 1899), or what would now be 96 year old Gene Kelly (born 1912)...

  • It would certainly be strange if he was still alive today...
