I have a question regarding the truing of the ramp operation.
In my (very limited) experience, planing end grain like that produces blow out unless there is some kind of backing, like the one provided by a shooting board.. however, in your video, it seem there is nothing supporting the back of the ramp (sole) as you run your block plane through it.
I expected to see some blowout when you tested it for flatness against the table saw table, but there was none, can you explain? thanks!

David, I bought your book and have made a couple of planes. They are better than ANY of my iron planes. I'd love to take your class!
Keep the videos coming, and for anyone who wants to build a wooden plane, THIS is the book you need.
