Most pedophiles were abused as children, implying that it is a psychological condition. We do very many things that are unnatural and, if you read the bible, the only place homosexuality is very clearly mentioned is Levitticus in the old testament (which is obsolete anyway) There are many things we do that defy these so called "laws of God" including dying your hair. Logically your examples are categorical mistakes for this argument, homosexuality is a subjective view where as rollerblades and airplanes are objects. Humans are not merely objects. Plastic surgery doesn't seem to have any relevance in the argument either because we're talking about relationships, not physical operations. If you want to argue for or against homosexuality on the basis of morality then you need to use analogies or examples of objective morality.

This is about having a healthy dating relationship, and what that is supposed to entail. Is there any perfect healthy relationship? ok so maybe God didnt "say" it but it was written in HIS book which is "inspired by him" (2timothy3:16) and some of the authors of the bible were writing words that were comming to them directly from God. there are a lot of things that happened in the old days that seem extremely harsh to us like...getting you hand chopped off for stealing a peice of bread....but the reason the penalties were so high is the higher the penaltiy the less likely we are to do something.My parents have lots of rules and punnish us for doing wrong and are very protective but that is cause they love us SOOOO much and they know that doing wrong will hurt us...I guess that is how God deals with his children too.

I taught bible school,I do know.And what I realized was how out of touch it was.Between the books Acts thru Revelations has been written centuries ago, not a couple decades ago.If a medical book from say 1957 was used today, alot of us would not be alive today. That medical book from 1957 is obsolete b/c we have found newer technology/research/cures to better suit the world of our times. The books after Acts assume what the world would be like but how far can you predict the future..you can't.

However, I have a non-traditional view of hell. I believe that it is simply oblivion; Jesus constantly talks about how, through Him, people will gain eternal life; so the implication is that life without Christ is NOT eternal. Even if those verses were translated correctly, I should point out that these are from PAUL, not God. Regardless of his love for God, his words cannot safely be taken as God's words.

IN FACT, the Bible that 99% of protestants have isn't the original composition. When the Bible was originally put together, it had additional books to it; now these books are only found in Catholic versions of the Bible. I agree with you, but i don't know that I would call pedophilia a sexual orientation because 1) no one is biologically a pedophile. Most pedophiles were abused as children, implying that it is a psychological condition. It's not as if children have special pheromones, or any at all, for that matter. 2) pedophilia is more about power, innocence, and fetish than gender. Prepubescents are more androgynous than adults. Actually, the Bible is NOT CLEAR about homosexuality being wrong. But even if it were, so what? Christians seldom take the time to examine whether the Bible is right. If they did, they would find that what the Bible says holds no weight.

That's a very good point, in fact. We do very many things that are unnatural and, if you read the bible, the only place homosexuality is very clearly mentioned is Levitticus in the old testament (which is obsolete anyway) There are many things we do that defy these so called "laws of God" including dying your hair. Anyone using the bible to justify being against homosexuality should read it over and see just how many they break in a day. :)

Logically your examples are categorical mistakes for this argument, homosexuality is a subjective view where as rollerblades and airplanes are objects. Humans are not merely objects. Plastic surgery doesn't seem to have any relevance in the argument either because we're talking about relationships, not physical operations. If you want to argue for or against homosexuality on the basis of morality then you need to use analogies or examples of objective morality.

This is about having a healthy dating relationship, and what that is supposed to entail. Is there any perfect healthy relationship? there are a lot of things that happened in the old days that seem extremely harsh to us like...getting you hand chopped off for stealing a peice of bread....but the reason the penalties were so high is the higher the penaltiy the less likely we are to do something.My parents have lots of rules and punnish us for doing wrong and are very protective but that is cause they love us SOOOO much and they know that doing wrong will hurt us...I guess that is how God deals with his children too.

I taught bible school,I do know.And what I realized was how out of touch it was.Between the books Acts thru Revelations has been written centuries ago, not a couple decades ago.If a medical book from say 1957 was used today, alot of us would not be alive today. That medical book from 1957 is obsolete b/c we have found newer technology/research/cures to better suit the world of our times. The books after Acts assume what the world would be like but how far can you predict the future..you can't.

However, I have a non-traditional view of hell. I believe that it is simply oblivion; Jesus constantly talks about how, through Him, people will gain eternal life; so the implication is that life without Christ is NOT eternal. Therefore, I believe that oblivion awaits those who reject God's salvation... however, I also believe that it's not up to me to decide who gets saved.

Even if those verses were translated correctly, I should point out that these are from PAUL, not God. Regardless of his love for God, his words cannot safely be taken as God's words.
So, I can safely say that's Paul's opinion, not God's.

Back to scripture... the only ones saying the Bible are scripture are the people who believe it is. There's nothing in the content that says "The Bible is the Word of God."
The Bible is a historical collection that CAN contain God's Word, but its entirety isn't. There are stories that might be legends, and stories that are definitely true.

The Bible as we know it was composed long after Jesus was born, died, and rose again. The majority of the New Testament is actually letters from various disciples (mostly Paul) to various churches. Later, the Torah was taken and the 4 gospels + these letters were added to it to make: the Bible.

IN FACT, the Bible that 99% of protestants have isn't the original composition. When the Bible was originally put together, it had additional books to it; now these books are only found in Catholic versions of the Bible. But the fact is... these books were originally in the Bible, and now they aren't.
As far as legends go... there are stories in the Bible that don't quite fit. Job is such a one; Satan is an evil being... why did God allow him into His presence?

well i know that my bible is complete ...i only like to read the King James Version cause it is widely known as been the absolute closest translation to the word of God ..are you serious what you said about the catholic bible....the add tons of stuff and take away tons of stuff and worship idols all that stuff is clearly forbiddin in the bible

The King James version was written after the Catholic version.
And I may not be Catholic, but I'll still defend them. The statues and pictures that you so irreverently call "idols" are actually called "icons". They are not prayed to, they are used as a prayer aid. This is a clear difference, but I'm not sure you can understand that.
Catholics are as much Christians as you and me :-)

kings james version was written well before the catholic one also the very last words of the bible says (this is by heart so go read the accurater one if you want) "anyone who adds to the words of the prophesiy of this books will have the plagues of this book added unto him and anyone who takes away from the words of the proshesy of this book will have thier name taken from the book of life and all the good things written in this book" the catholic bible has taken huge sections out of the bible

and even they take out the very second commandment "do not bear any graven image" they also pray mostly to mary and a bunch of saints who are dead and even if they are in heaven they cant hear them cause only God himself can hear our prayers also they add a bunch of stuff to their bible about some fictional place purgatory and they have all sorts of fetishes. These things are forbidden in the bible!

You do realize the first Bibles were written in LATIN, right? The King James Bible is in English, and was written by a protestant king... called James. Even the most anti-catholic books note this.
And if you would actually bother to read the Catholic Bibles, you would realize that nothing has been taken out. Not even the second commandment. The only difference is some books in the Old Testament that aren't in the protestant versions.

Furthermore, SO WHAT if they believe in purgatory? Does believing in that earn a one-way ticket to hell? I don't think so; if Christians had to be 100% right, then there ain't gonna be a soul in heaven. Everyone is off somehow; it's impossible to tell what exactly is right.
And fetishes? What fetishes?

I beg you to pray and ponder on what Christ's mercy and love really means for you and others. As of now, you are haughty; and that was one of the downfalls of Sodom.

"Rosary beads" - Prayer aid. Not condemned, not supported, they just exist.
"Mass" - And there's something wrong with believing in the Real Presence? I mean, despite the fact that disciples left over Jesus INSISTING that He's the Bread of Life and that people MUST eat of Him...
Also, please learn the definition of fetish.
The rules are NOT crystal clear. Otherwise, there wouldn't be hundreds of Christian denominations out there that disagree on key points for each one.

Furthermore, not once has GOD said homosexuality is wrong.
All condemnations in the New Testament are by Paul, in letters that he never would have imagined to be taken to be the literal Word of God. The only argument you have, then, is Jesus talking about a man and a woman joining together to be one flesh; and taking context into account, Jesus is condemning divorce, not everything else.
Also, now we're talking about the origins of the Bible; which is from the Catholic church.

The Bible was originally written in Latin, and owned by the Catholic church. It wasn't until later that the Bible was translated into English; which the King James version is. Any study of Biblical history can prove this.
Also, I love God, far more than you can imagine. I love going to church every Sunday. I do not deny that I am a sinner; although homosexuality isn't one of them. I try my best to obey Jesus' two commandments: Love God, and Love Thy Neighbor.

the bible is called the Word Of God and everything that is written in thier by Gods srevants he obviously agrees with otherwise he wouldnt have let it be written in his book...if you could get rid of pauls writting than you could get rid of everything else to which is why you have to take the whole bible and every word...or nothing

Your logic is very confusing.
It's the Word of God because God "agrees" with it...
...but to believe that God "agrees" with it, you'd have to assume it's the Word of God from the getgo.
Seriously, learn some history about Christianity. You'll discover that Catholics were indeed the first carriers of the Bible (in Latin, but still), and that the King James version came after that.

Also, the Catholic Bible's Second Commandment IS intact. I actually have a copy of it, and it's there as clear as day. You're speaking nonsense.
