This is a good theme, but I don't understand why people are so up in arms about it. The current theme is just a slightly updated version of the past two themes. I agree, it's not as exciting, but it hardly sucks.
From Wolverine Historian, the 1992 Northwestern Michigan game used this theme.
I loved the 1996 Residence Inn Halftime show, anybody remember those commercials with a splitscreen of their room and your living room which looked identical until you had to take out the trash?
Yeah, the BottomLine IS annoying when you're actually trying to watch a game...unless you're watching for another score...but even then they could use the BottomLine during commercial breaks, I mean, they run more than enough of them during a game.

I think they started using that theme around 1991 or so. I could be wrong, but I am guessing that's when they started using it. They also had a sweet NCAA Basketball theme from 1991-1995 and the one from 1995-2001
This was my favorite theme they ever used. I always got fired up hearing this. Wish they'd have left it alone.

This was awesome. I don't understand why ABC/ESPN uses the same crappy drumroll them these days.
And I hate having the bottom of the screen covered by the crawl during games too.

They used a different version of this theme from '92-'94. Than they changed to this theme, used another version in 1998, then reverted to this theme.
